  • The ending theme to DBZ Uncut. A personal favorite of mine.

    This music choice always puzzled me. The intro theme is a hard edged metal track, the outro a weird techno synth recording with Indian raga percussion vibe. I still get the nostalgia feels though. This was the summer after my first year in college.

      I think it was meant to cool down the viewer really.

      On the dvd versions (maybe even vhs version as well) this was longer, and yes, I very much do love the calmness of it. I have the complete season 1 of this uncut dub on dvd still. This ending, along with the intro used, is so unique that I miss them.

    For those who are wondering why did they choose this ending music, it's mainly from the American localization of Animes. Their main grasp was this, *Make the opening music hypeful and/or intriguing so the audience will be compelled to watch the show, then make the ending music something calm and/or smooth so it can make the viewers sleep easy.*
    I've seen this pattern of Animes that have been localized. Paranoia Agent, Zoids, Big-O, etc.

    • @Sernival
      @Sernival Год назад

      Big-O had a great ending, it took me years to hear the full version again

      Native anime had been doing this stuff for decades beforehand lol, in fact Kikuchi Shunsuke himself was the first with the Tiger Mask series of 1969 where the OP was energetic and the ED melancholic, which apparently changed the face of anime songs.

    Am I the only one who's creeped out by this credits sequence?
    The blood red pictures popping up on the side of the pitch black screen, the chilling instrumental made up of slight synth and percussion and drums, the high-pitched voice whispering "rock the dragon" at some point.
    It makes me feel uneasy.

      Wait, which Uncut DVDs? The Ultimate Uncut ones FUNimation first released, or the orange brick DVDs? I know the orange brick ones had the Japanese ending with this music in the background if you picked the Faulconer track, but otherwise, I didn't know this was a shortened version.
