Im white and this is how i felt as a kid too. My mom is an amazing cook and is so in love with different cultures cooking, ever since I was a kid shes made all kinds of dishes. My friends house pretty much only ate canned food which i had never had, it was so sad. Even in highschool my friends didn't know what most of my food even was.. i now have a cook book full of recipes that my mother hand wrote for me for Christmas and im never going to friends houses without it. I love sharing new foods.
Lol I feel the same. My mom mostly cooked American food but I think most Americans don't know what American food is past burgers and macaroni and cheese anymore. But she cooked with lots of seasonings and flavors. My least favorite was snack. At my house we would have fruit and cheeses or chocolate milk or a half a sandwich sometime chips and a dip. Nothing complex of of course for just a snack. Where I lived whatever house you were at at that time the parents would feed you. My neighbors (the most well off ones on the street) would feed their kids a slice of American cheese and a Little Debbie cake. :/ I hated snack at their house but was too polite to complain.
It's really not sad I love that kind of food but now I know how to use way more seasoning in my food and when I try to eat butter noodles again I just wasn't as interested in it anymore lol. Seasoning stuff changes your taste buds. It's nice of you to teach people how to cook cause it is useful for health cause butter noodles are not the healthiest thing lol.
same with me 😭 my mom is probably one of the few white people I know that makes real good food (with all cultures) and is open to making new ones. she has always made amazing food while everyone sticks to eating cut up hot dogs. but I think this is because she has always surrounded herself with different cultures and races and ethnicities throughout her years, from Hispanic to European, to African, and to Asian food !
I would've asked to call my dad to pick me up right then and there. Yeah we were poor during my younger days but he would at least try to feed us something of substance. Or at least warm the corn up 😭😂
This is why I'm thankful that my father was really into food from around the world (he was military) and then when I joined the military and traveled I also got to try even more foods from different countries/cultures. And when I got out I started cooking and never stopped. Now my kids are growing up eating Korean, Indian, Thai, Afghani, Haitian, etc., etc. Cooking and sharing a meal is important to me and I want my kids to experience just how exciting and vast the world of food really is.

As an African Italian, this really hits home I remember going to my friends house in the fifth grade and they bought cheeseburgers, chicken, nuggets, and fries from McDonald’s, even though there’s nothing wrong with these foods, I was not used to it at all. I remember going home the next day, crying to my mom in the car that that was the worst food I’ve ever eaten.
I wonder if it would have been better if they grilled homemade burgers for you it would have been way better than McDonald’s homemade burgers can be absolutely carnal if their made right
@RWrwrwrwrwrw so what if she and her friends are privileged, why do have to point it out, she said there was nothing wrong with the food but she didn't like it cuz she wasn't uses to it
I don't even speak a word and stop them from giving me food because they proceeds to give me good u til I say stop and at last I have to say stop please 😂😂😂
As a white woman with THE WHITEST MOM. I can vouch for this. Lol. My kid has so far grown up loving spice. The day he asks for buttered noodles is the day I disown him lmao
Maybe they couldn't afford that much? We eat ramen most days in my house cause my husband can't work and I make barely over the income limit for food stamps
I would like to add that I was joking about buttered noodles lol. We are incredibly poor, so it's often really hard to put together something healthy. That being said, we always have lots of different spices on hand and it's so easy to throw them on some pasta or white rice.
I know it's just for fun, but always remember that regardless of what culture or what food they eat, every child likes their mom's food because it was made with love.

As an Italian, I can relate. We always have some gourmet looking meal that just appears out of nowhere.
" do u like it 😊 " BRO SMILING WHILE EATING 😭
Hahaha ..this is sooooooo cute ..reza never looked this cute before and also kudos to his acting skills sply after reaching his own house 😂😂loved it so much
As an Arab I have to say two things;
1. Never eat at your white friends house.
2. How did he have the courage to say he was hungry?!?!!
i can relate to that
the first one is so relatable, most of my friends either are arab or love arab food tho so if i ever stay over its not as bad lmao
@@annaa_04300 lmao
And just slightly racist
Lol if only mom was there to pinch him every time he ate or mentioned food 😅
As an Indian…….. I can confirm that this is 100% TRUE
Same
The *desi magic* got me dying🤣😭
As an African Italian, this really hits home I remember going to my friends house in the fifth grade and they bought cheeseburgers, chicken, nuggets, and fries from McDonald’s, even though there’s nothing wrong with these foods, I was not used to it at all. I remember going home the next day, crying to my mom in the car that that was the worst food I’ve ever eaten.
I wonder if it would have been better if they grilled homemade burgers for you it would have been way better than McDonald’s homemade burgers can be absolutely carnal if their made right
Ooof.
.... Privileged
@RWrwrwrwrwrw so what if she and her friends are privileged, why do have to point it out, she said there was nothing wrong with the food but she didn't like it cuz she wasn't uses to it
Damn youre so lucky lmao
That “umph, right from the can?” Was magical😂
You’ll never know
🤣

That’s the accent though. Ngl I feel like that’s rude, I know it’s a joke and all but
Racist
Same lol
I tried to frown like Puja and talk at the same time. I can't do it. Puja is amazing like that.
I used to feel to shy to say to friend's mom that I am hungry, who else relates this??
same lol
I rather die but I don't say a word😌because I am an introvert
@@rohithreddy8019 lol me too
I don't even speak a word and stop them from giving me food because they proceeds to give me good u til I say stop and at last I have to say stop please 😂😂😂
I don't because....I have a best friend... they are like family
@@LordPoppy literally groceries are so beyond expensive right now. Grocery shopping is becoming a middle to upper class hobby!
To be fair frying up some precooked noodles with butter, garlic, seasoning salt, and some oregano is BOMB. Cheap and easy meal to make.
I would like to add that I was joking about buttered noodles lol. We are incredibly poor, so it's often really hard to put together something healthy. That being said, we always have lots of different spices on hand and it's so easy to throw them on some pasta or white rice.
I'm pasty white, freckles and all, but it's my boyfriend who UNIRONICALLY eats buttered noodles. He acts like it's a delicacy. He's native tho 😂
I know it's just for fun, but always remember that regardless of what culture or what food they eat, every child likes their mom's food because it was made with love.
Unless it tastes gross...with love, 😅
False. I hated my mom's food. She was a horrible cook. Food looked like it was half alive, half dead. 😂
I didn't know there was love in a can of beans if your mom served you that 😅
lol yeah sorry there are plenty of crap moms so this comment becomes irrelevant
@@aravind787 My grandpa taught me the trick of a sugar packet to hide the canned taste, so my cofmfort food is a can of corn with a tablespoon of sugar, served lukewarm at your local health hazard diner
So relatable I got food poisoning one time from a friends house

I understand coming home and crying to your mom and then getting comforted is the best feeling😭😂🙏🏼

Steves mom is the most American mom I have ever seen
Yup. Sounds like my mom's cooking from the '80s.
