I love how even though Abby criticizes them, she still loves them like her own children and she would do anything for them.
Exactly she is just tough on them because she wants them to be successful and because she never had kids before :(
She loved these kids in a way that damaged them for the rest of their lives
she loved those kids but there scard for life she has made fun of chloes eye has been racist towards nina she ruined dance for broke and didn't allow her to show emtion she looked almost dead inside paige looks sad there was even a time where she wouldn't use paiges name and made her sit and play music

I loved that they finally listened to each other and it wasn't just a screaming match. And when Abby said when she saw Kelly crying that she saw the 12 year old Kelly that quit dance and doesn't want that to happen to Paige I almost cried ( they didn't show when she said that )

I'm not trying to make an excuse for Abby, but in all fairness, the blame doesn't lay on her alone. Abby has done some vicious things, but instead of coming at her like an adult the next day after she cooled down, Kelly would yell at Abby. People say "finally, she gets it! It only took her 3 years." It also took Kelly 3 years to have an honest heart to heart with Abby, explaining the damage, without insulting or cursing at her. Both of them let it escalate to this point, not just Abby.
I totally agree with you and I just would like to add that Kelly and Abby has a long history together and not a very happy one. I think Kelly was making a transfer of what she felt when she was a kid and training with Abby on her daughters so yes she drove the wedge between Abby and Brooke and Paige ! Because this was her revenge, not once did she listen to her girls she was just pulling them from competitions, rehearsals, recitals ... Paige said in a episode that she didn't mind Abby correcting her because she wanted to get better but since Kelly thought that Abby should not be yelling she just yells, swears and pulls her daughters from the studio ! She wants her daughters to have opportunities but she doesn't want them to be yelled at. She sees dance as an extracurricular activity but this is an elite dance competition team !!! If you just wanna have fun then put your kids on regular classes not a competition team ! Kelly has said on numerous occasions that she doesn't care if her daughters ever dance again but Brooke has been saying since the first season that she didn't wanna dance anymore ! Did Kelly listen ? Noooo ! She pushed her daughter back in the studio only to fight with the dance teacher and put her two daughters in an awful situation over and over and over by coming back every single time ! I don't think any dance teacher would want to have anything to do with the kids of a mother who speaks to you like that and people can say "Abby should be an adult and not be resentful at the kids" but Abby is just a HUMAN ! She always fights with Abby and shows a lot of disrespect ... I don't think that any dance teachers would have let her come back ONCE after what she said (swearing, making fun of someone weight) !
Yaëlle Patout You know, I thought about it and want to retract my reply to your comment. I don't like that people only blame Abby and look at her actions (which are unacceptable to me) without thinking that it's not all Abby's fault. It's not all Kelly's fault. It's both of their faults. Neither adult backed down or stopped to think about the girls. No doubt Abby has a long history with the Hylands, and like the saying goes, "you hurt the ones you love most" so I'm sure there's a bit of that going around too. Maybe Abby should be an adult about things, but I do find that she and the kids can have a more mature conversation than Abby can with the adults. Both have given low blows. It's not about who's worse. It's about thinking of what all this is doing to the girls. Maybe Brooke and Paige don't want to dance, but they never get the chance to speak up. Through all of this, I'm sure both sides are crushed and hurt, and it's sad to watch as things reach their boiling point.

1:57 very true because both Brooke and Paige were never a part of ALDC when the show started, but Abby wanted them to be dance moms.
They were a part of ALDC but left after season 3 and only came back for filming.
***** this was confirmed at a meet and greet. Brooke quit dance before season one started, but Abby wanted her to be in it so she continued dancing. It was because Abby wanted Brooke to be on the team because she was very skilled.
***** I've watched videos from almost every meet and greet but okay, I'll take your word for it.

I feel like this was more serious than we all think... Kelly's tears were not fake for the camera... you can see it in her eyes and the way she speaks. Abby really needs to stop scaring the kids, because she is breaking away their self esteem.
