In Germany we have something called Flammkuchen. There is a classical one but you can do whatever you like. We make a Flammkuchen with pumpkin, figs, rosemary and creme fraiche salt and pepper when autumn comes. It‘s my little tradition.

figs are my favorite fruit! it is usually a hit and miss with the sweetness, some will be bland and others will be super sweet. try different varieties too! (black figs, green figs) When they’re softer they tend to be more sweet

I have always heard Fête pronounced the French way in the US (rhyming with let as Meron said). Very cute either way. Of course it is that Romance language thing where we get our words festival etc from the same root.

On figs…my parents have a giant fig tree at their house in Georgia that produces the sweetest figs around mid to late July that are so good I used to eat bowlfuls at a time. But all the store bought ones I’ve tried don’t have a ton of flavor. It probably doesn’t help that it’s kind of past their growing season now also. Hopefully you’ll get to try a super sweet fig one day. And honestly they might grow well in your yard since they do so well in Georgia, if you had room to plant your own little fig tree.
