Nice review Lo! I think the key difference between the RE20 and the 27 N/D is the sound quality (the 27 N/D is brighter and more adjustable) and that the RE27 N/D needs less gain than the RE20. It's interesting to see a radio studio with all of the same mic- some people might sound better on a RE20 tbh. Rick Bell of Electro-Voice did a comparison years ago of the RE20 and RE27 N/D which goes into a lot more technical detail. He also did an interesting video on the birth of the RE320 which was sort of built from parts/ideas of both the RE20 and the RE27 N/D.
I'm sure you've answered this somewhere else but may I ask what microphone arms you're using? They look somewhat like the Blue but still different and very heavy duty
It’s a excellent bright sounding microphone, especially for a Dynamic. I prefer the RE20, but I’m certain the RE27 is useful for several speakers in Radio..
I've noticed from watching so many videos it really helps those with bass in their voices. The re27 helps bring out their highs. But if you have a voice which is already too high then the re20
I use TLM103 for my VO work, but starting to use this for podcasting. I am still struggling to re-learn mic position and stomach the sound. My main struggle is the harshness of s/sh/z especially having to be on top of this one. Any thoughts or ideas on things that worked for people who use it?
I have this one mic in my radio studio. For all folks, who think is it coverable for a voiceover work (or a voice recording for a video) - my answer is NO, because it's very specific sounding mic. Great for broadcast, but little poor for a studio booth recording. Y (sorry for my english).
can you do a series on microphones for Classroom/Hall please? We need mics reviews in the context of Live Shows and speakers/presenters who do not stand close to the microphone...
What do you think of the EV RE27? Cool mic or just another mic to get lost in the sea of microphones?

i am definelty looking to make that comparison
I have to work with the RE27 almost every day... but I'm not a fan. Actually, my favorite (because of its natural sound) is the SM7B by Shure.
Julio Arturo Lezcano dude. Perfect timing. My comparison video of the 2 mic goes up next week!!! Definelty looking forward to your thoughts.
Great review Lo, love the sound of this Mic! Great intro...
Thanks Gus, slowly experimenting with things to to make the content more engaging and hopefully more universal. Never stay still right?

Great idea, ill see if i can get my hands on some mics like that
Long time no see. Blowin' up are ya? Power on bro!
Thanks man, trying to keep evolving.
The "telephone" effect is for kickdrums.
Not for voice. I am surprised not one review and/or test has gotten that right.
Ahhhhhh, thanks man. I guess because so many people focus on voice for this mic, it’s never mentioned for instruments.
would that mic work with the YAMAHA MG10XU?
Yes
Claro normal funciona.
Electro-Voice RE27 or Heil PR40?
what's with your videography in the introduction this time? lol
Playing with ideas to really make these videos engaging.
Lo Knows, Sort Of you can watch TLD or Jonathan Morrison and see how he does it
