Yes, she has the best expressive voice (its signature modulations and rhythm) for her humorous stories and astute observations.

What does that have to do with ANYTHING???? Who gives a shit, except a
"Smoke Nazi," who wants to control the lives and life choices of others? Bite me. You couldn't even read any of her work without moving your lips, the same way you probably read your comic books. . . . .

“Barefoot” as a way of life ,be it driving or anything else, is still very popular where I come from. Of course I hail from the state once known as “ Indian Territory “ That and it still has a vast area known as “ No Mans Land”. 🌪

She may not write very much about politics (albeit she hasn't written much since the 80s) but she talks about it ALL THE TIME. By the way, when she discusses NYC real estate and classism, that's politics. Anti-smoking laws? That's politics. The stuff she has said on the Clintons, Bushes, and Trump is golden like everything else. Fran wrote a stellar piece on race for Vanity Fair and one on separation of Church and State I believe also for VF. Fran is an intensely political person and speaks very eloquently about it.

Episcopalian is small 'c' Catholic. I think of us as catholic-lite. Our priests can be married, women, gay ect. They are also second career adults who don't molest children and pay thier own way in life. PLUS WE HAVE PANCAKES. C'MON DOWN!

I've given it some thought as to why Fran Liebowitz hasn't published in decades. Of course, I am nothing in the league of big thinkers such as Fran, but consider that she once gave voice, by means of an insightful, gay clarity and humour, to remark upon the unbeknownst absurdities and lack of common sense by the public during an earlier, more innocent disco time. Absurdities which, three decades later, has only multiplied ten fold with even more bad music and common sense which- hey! Is there an audience today that thinks it smart or funny to remark upon our lack or neglect of common sense? There isn't one. What can Fran Lebowitz publish which is insightful, satirical and again, with gay clarity and humour, observe and remark upon which isn't going to prompt guilt upon a common sense audience which can't do fuck all about this shit pool of current day absurdities anyways. Know how? Nope. Who can? Joan Rivers could but she's dead now. Camille Paglia talks too fast. And Kathy Griffin is looking like she won't be long amongst us to publish the truth in time. Sad to say but contemporary times has lost a satirist such as Fran. The present day is a consequence of too much shit, I suspect, for Fran to get out of bed, to wisely reflect upon and write for the bother like Linda Evangelista who wouldn't for less than tens of thousands of dollars. And those were during the days when the Polaroid Swinger cost just nineteen dollars and ninety five. There's no regard for, nor value, nor virtue, nor enough money to be made for the effort of making common sense these days to clarify and satirize. Therefore, common sense has eluded Fran, stricken with declining dotage for napping too much to refer to to satirize, I say.

Oddly enough I've been compelled to her beautiful mind since maybe the late 80's! I'm an INFJ Meyer Briggs straight white male but damn she's one of the sexiest intellects I've ever discovered!
I'm stunned she's not a Guru with the effect she distinctly has💗😘😘💗 all these decades... And that pic from her early 20's... Wow just... That AWARE of yourself that F'ing young that's so rare but it's like she was a Zen Master compared to many "REAL" souls out there famous and not so (like myself 😌😌😌) am I right???

I really enjoyed your insightful comment. It holds some really valid observations; my only thought is that you could be right if Fran Lebowitz cared about what people thought but she doesn't.
