I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN SANTA CRUZ CALI IN 1981 I WAS BORN. IN 1990 I MOVED UP TO WASHINGTON STATE. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE DAY THE BIG EARTHQUAKE HAPPENED. THE LONA PERRITTA EARTHQUAKE. I WAS/AM TRAMATIZED FROM IT TILL THIS DAY..I MISS THE BEACH BOARD WALK. AND FLYING KYTES. AND SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN.
1960......the year we moved there. Lived there until joining the Navy in 1983. Didn't know how lucky I was to grow up there until I left. Wonder what some of the bungalows with the white picket fences go for now? 1.5, 2 million?
@richardhammer6559 holy cow do I hate you now. So you don’t give a shit about building more housing to stop homelessness amongst students. One way or another Santa Cruz has to change population wise
It was still nice there until the mid 80's. I used to take my family there every year for a week long vacation. Overrun by bean heads now.
I like the Jaguar XK150 at 1:41 I wish there was some scenes from the wharf. I might have seen me fishing there when I was a young boy.
I was not born that year, but I enjoy watching old videos.
I was only 10 but I remember the old Santa Cruz and appreciate it still.
Very nice.
I would sell my soul to have lived in that time period in California. As close to utopia as you'll probably get.
I once worked in those greenhouses full of begonias.
I got some Super 8 movies of the flood in the 1950s and the suntan special coming into Santa Cruz at the boardwalk 1960s beauty pageant parade
What a perfect time to have been there.
grew up in Campbell, lived in capitola for awhile in the early 80,s moved back to campbell

I Lived near the Begonia Gardens in 1976-77. Glad this is saved....truely amateur camera work!
yes, because it was so high tech in the 60's LOL, thanks for the laugh
I'd love to know more about which streets/neighborhoods we're looking at.
How many homeless encampments are around that town now?
Me interessei por Santa Cruz por causa de um documentario sobre Ed Kemper , gostaria de conhecer tanto o Ed quanto Santa Cruz , que linda ♥️♥️♥️
