Your anatomy sketches are really great!! AUArts teaches anatomy in the Design program if you're interested, I took that class with Karl Geist, and he's an amazing prof!

I'm so glad this video popped up, I'm thinking of going here in the future ( for photography) but its so great to see a first hand account!! If you don't mind answering , how are the elevators in your experience? Stairs kill me so its helpful to know !:) Your figure drawings are spectacular by the way!

the elevators are kinda bad if im being honest, theres 2 main elevators, but they only take you to one side of the building, so you have to walk across some ramps/bridges to get to the one side where i believe the photography classes are. theyre also old and slow, and for some reason if someone presses a button to go up when its already getting called down, it will override the request to go down and take the person up. definitely waited at that elevator for 5 or so minutes on a really busy day. overall theyre not great, but they get the job done when you need them. i used them a lot when i was carrying a lot of supplies to my classes and the worst part was honestly just the speed.
      also thank you!

omgg ngl this was such a neat vid and i love how it was an exciting yet calming watch !! im currently a sophmore in hs and i just wanna say ur art is amazee and im wondering if you have any advice for ppl like me with a big passion for drawing, thinking of going into an art school in the future ^ ^ i hear many different stories from ppl in different art schools and so i'm wondering what ur perspective is on this topic :3

tysm! i absoloutely adore art school, so i would absoloutely recommend it if youre passionate about art! I suppose most of the advice i have is just to try enjoy yourself! one of the biggest things im seeing with people in art school is that they just find themselves not having fun with art and burning out because of it. Of course sometimes youll just get an assignment that you dont click with, but overall try to preserve that love you have for art! Also prepare yourself to make LOTS of bad things, dont let a bad grade, critique, or piece discourage you, when youre making big things so consistently, its inevitable that some dont turn out.
As for advice to prepare for art school/portfolio making, two things i would say is timed studies and meaning! set aside a few hours every once and a while to do timed figure drawings and still lives, the first few months of my drawing class were just that, and it was really helpful to already be experienced in it. As for meaning, thats more the portfolio side. Art schools REALLY want to see meaning, it doesnt have to be super super deep or anything, but they want to see a connection between you and your art and be able to hear what you want to say (even if those meanings are made up at the last second after the piece is already done lol) But the sooner you work on developing your voice as an artist the easier it is!
and just one last tip, dont worry too much about what other people are doing. obviously its good to look up to others and take inspiration, but dont tear youself down because someone else is better than you. Everyone is there to learn, and at the end of the day, if you got into the school, youre a great enough artist to be there, even if there is someone better than you.
good luck! i really hope its everything you want it to be!❤❤

@@CertifiedMoth Aaaa this means so much to me thank you sm!! I’ll make sure to take these things in mind for the futuree. Though I’m quite nervous about the possible mistakes I might make and regret later on, your advice certainly gives me the motivation to still overcome the fear! Thxx again💛🐝
