- The truth of staying at Balmoral Resort in 2022 with Virgin holidays, Haines City Florida. Please watch this Balmoral Resort tour and do your research elsewhere as well before booking. This video highlights just some of the problems we had here. #balmoralestate #balmoral #feltrimresorts Virgin did help us and arranged a refund, but not what you want on an £8500 holiday.

The pool our back was ok but after smelling the chlorine when you walk out, we got test strips and the chlorine was through the roof and we could barely swim in it because the kid's eyes started to burn within 10 mins

Also, remember how far the drive is from here to the Disney parks and then check current traffic problems on the I4 on google maps looking for red lines showing traffic jams etc.
there were wasp nests all over the house we could not even come out the front door, no face towels, roaches, mosquitoes all over the house, carpets were not vacuumed and no of the vacuums worked and the kid broke out in rashes after going in the pool

Disgusting. They charge hundreds of dollars for cleaning and there were bed bugs all over our house. My 4-year-old and I woke up full of bites

Please forgive the shorthand, I would rather try to forget this poor experience which zapped far too much of my holiday time! I am not sure why they are prompting me for a review. We did not receive the Villa we were sold. Both Virgin Holidays and Feltrim websites have since been updated which I hope is in an effort to prevent some of the issues we had.
There are some positive comments on TripAdvisor but they may be from people who own houses here they are trying to rent out?
I revisited the site on June 22 most of the issues remain.

Very wise, try and be close to the parks you are visiting, otherwise most of your holiday will be on the 14 !

Just back from a 2 week holiday to Florida - the 2nd week of which was staying at the Balmoral Resort.
The house itself (4 bed) was great - very clean - everything working well ...BUT .....the location was really poor.
My strong suggestion to you if booking through Virgin Holidays (like we did) is to stay at an alternative location.
The place is just not being looked after well enough to be honest...and much of it is still a building site.
Our house turned out to be in the latest phase of building area - next to 3 properties under construction and immediately next-door to a large floodlit American football / soccer centre. Games played regularly until after 9pm, music pumped through loudspeaker systems and floodlights straight into all house bedrooms until 10pm. It was not exactly young family friendly.
There were no other houses available to be moved to when we enquired - best that could be offered was some baking foil to go over the windows to stop the light coming in!
Virgin will be getting a formal complaint letter shortly!

I complained about all the issues while in the resort, using their app. The final straw was when staff at the resort were out and out lying to Virgin. They said there would be a full investigation. Make sure you include photos of problems etc.

I had a tough time getting a refund. And reading other peoples experiences they had an even worse time, I think you are very wise. The last place we stayed was Indian ridge and it was absolutely dismal the pool was a major hazard due to the concrete surround being broken up. When I called the management company they blamed it on COVID-19 that the owners were refusing to pay for maintenance as they were not making money from tourists.
Wow was just about to book this and looking for a video to show the mrs. Glad i found this and read the comments notifying that its ages away from the parks as well
Its grim, i have met so many people with similar stories. Stay with 15 minutes of the parks you plan to visit. I4 road is a nighmare!!

We've spent over £11k on our America holiday (not all on Disney), our first proper holiday as a family and I'm so glad I saw this. Going to get the accomodation changed immediately!

Why oh why did I not find this video before our trip in July!
An absolute disaster, and the fight still continues.
It could be a nice resort with more maintence and better staff, albeit very far away from Disney and Universal.
As with some of the other comments, Virgin Holidays are getting nowhere with them too. I would be suprised if they continue sending people there much longer.
I have had so many messages of Virgin doing refunds, its not goodfor their brand to send people here. I have revisted and most things are the same....
