One of Eric’s most dark blues but also most brilliant from the great album behind the sun rip monserrat air studios

Wow, I was there; in the arena row 4, seat 11, but the way the seats were arranged there was no seat in front and when Clapton came downstage left (or on the right as we look at it), he was just playing directly in front on me. Ticket cost £12.50. It was during the "big freeze" of 1987 and the train home was delayed by snow, but I really didn't care.

I was at this show. I was 14 years old and these first run of yearly shows that EC did at the RAH with so many amazing musicians in his band(s) were an education for me and have been an indelible mark on me. 35 years later I now pinch myself whilst looking forward to playing there myself this April.
Thanks so much for synching this and putting it up!

This is the successful result of an extremely detailed, tedious and lengthy undertaking... and to get this so good, it had to require flawless consistency in every single aspect of the endeavor. It is such a preciously worthy and creative project, indeed..!
Thank you... and, may God bless you for it..!!

I love the way he used to prowl (and own) the stage. I remember seeing him on the groaning tour, and at Hyde park in 96, and he was just lost in his guitar. Seeing boots of the journeyman tour he did the same. Amazing. This is the earliest I’ve seen of that.

This must have been the first tour with the soldano and Clapton strat with the mid boost. My favourite Clapton sound.

BRAVO !!! Great band, love Nathan's solo in Same Old Blues ! I seen this tour in NYC at small club, The Ritz, November 24, 1986, only 4 piece band, Steve Ferrone on drums, Nathan & Greg.

Nathan is a bassist on a different level! And seems to just be a really nice guy to boot, listening to interviews with him.

Thanks for all your insight and efforts and for posting this concert. I live for this stuff so it's absolutely appreciated. One of the best EC performances recorded in my opinion. No one flows like Eric when he's in the zone. A truly spiritual experience.

Actually Eric was not sobering yet and played only so-so at this deep stage of alcoholism. For comparison: Knebworth 1990 and on - the sober era!!!

Aterrador. MASTER. CLAPTON IS GOD!!!!!!!!

It's a EC show, granted, but Mark Knopfler is on the stage too and (with all due respect to the other wonderful musicians gracing the planks of the RAH that night) he wasn't just any old studio musician---he should be credited in the title!

It is not a «sounboard recording» when it is from a professional multi track remote recording truck. A «soundboard recording» (no one uses the word soundboard) is the direct out of the FOH PA-console. These direct outs usually have strange balances both in levels and tonal qualities and would be quite sub-par compared to this recordi g.
