Retired driver. Winter tip. When you come in off the road and stop on snow, rock back and forth to cool off the tires. Hot tires will melt a hole under your drives.
For the floor drain try and make a basket out of some metal mesh, that way when you need to clean it just yank the basket out and throw the garbage away. Worked for me with a similar drain in a car repair shop :)
Now that's a great idea !
I was just going to suggest the same thing like a pool skimmer basket just bigger
great minds...
I was thinking the same thing.
Yes so much easier
Look forward to every Larson Farms video. Thanks again for the great entertainment!
Way to go Dougo, show those young ones how to drive in snow.
Can't believe Eric couldn't get that out of these. What Dougo did is like off-road 101. Everybody who knows a little about driving knows this.
Unless it was all just for the camera....
Dougo showing some real expertise rocking that service truck free
That's right Doug. Rocking and timing, it's all about rocking and timing. Works on a lot more than just stuck trucks. 😜
Always enjoy video when the Big Swede narrates.
Watch you all work together reminds me of an elderly gentleman I used to work with…his standard, very serious line to me was “There is no room, in the workplace, for levity.” You guys constantly break his rule! Thank you!
RIP Jim…still missing you after 20 years. Great guy!
I got to tell you Chet, you make fun @ work & you really manage the farm excellent in my opinion. I know Dogo has a lot of input & have Erik as a hired hand is all a part of it. I’d say Erik puts more into it then just a hired hand. What a great team effort but Chet you really keep everyone & everything going. Awesome job!!!!👍👍👍👍👍. 5 thumbs up instead of 5 stars. Thanks for hours of viewing fun.
Erik, glad your back and over IT! you NEED more camera time. You do it so well. Please give Us more "And here's Erik" that would be great. Thanks Guys for ALL your efforts and sharing them with ALL of Us who just don't have the ability to experience it first hand. You Guys ROCK AND RULE!!!!
What happened, over what? Where did he go?
@@Rob-s4e caught one of them nasty viral variants running rampant around the globe the last two years - something-rona 19
I finally figured why Eric and Chet are so entertaining.Chet asks a question that he expects no real answer to that only sets Eric up for a punch line that catches everyone by surprise.I wonder how many people would stick their hand in that is a perfect example of the surprise....lol
Oh my, what if I'm only 17 and 11 months?
Man it has to be done! You or the other guy! Good work
When you said Randy scrapped his shin on the drags I had a shiver go down my spine. Been there done that.
Me too.
Regarding the wash bay drain, I would try to make a basket type strainer like the idea with pots with insert strainers. You could easily catch lots of the muk and just lift the basket out to get majority out before even needing to put your hand in it.
Like the skimmer basket in for a pool, only stronger
Dougo, Big Swede, and the Rockstar of farming! Wooohoo!, Oh! I wanna see! Oh my! STUCK!
Erik! Get down from there!
You’ve brought all the corn husks in from the field. And I was wondering if one of you was going to put your hand into the drain! Thanks for sharing!
Make a SS basket that lines the sump area. That way when you foil the sump with debris all you have to do is pull up the screen, clean it and drop it back in.
Great job washing the quad track guys
There is really nice way to use a ratchet strap with a flat. Put it around the tire and tighten it "like so". That will push the tyre out towards the rim and there is a better possibility for reinflating the tyre.
A lift out mesh to replace the mesh in the drainage would work , if you know , well you know :)
Hope you guys are all well down south. Hi to all Larson family hi toby 😉🙂
Wen u do this in cold weather a lil propane torch to heat up bead n center of tire helps den put d eather n air to dem.!! 😀
hi chet and guys, neat your all enjoying life, cheers gnz
Your Smooth with that Peterbilt Reed, watched you put her in Gear, enjoy your videos, Keep on Trucking, from down here in South Jersey
Great video Chet Dougo and Big Swede
When you have been stuck as much as Dougo has you learn all the tricks lol
That frosted tree above your digger was beautiful, winter is good for some things.
Wife's from MN... enjoying the videos here in The Great Land (AK)
Having a wash bay is such a great idea..
I help farm in Minnesota and this is so true great job
Dougo done an excellent job getting that service truck unstuck. I’ve had to air up a lot of big truck and equipment tires like that. You guys do good work. You also did a great wash job on that tractor. Cool video 👍👍👍❤️
Great video Chet & Big Swede ,keep up that good work, the machines look like new, regards Trevor.W.Bacelli. Biloela Qld Australia.
Great video Chet!!! It is always good to see Toby!!
Man you guys get along well ..... keep the videos coming fellow farmers
i would and have reached in stuff like that. some times you have to do that. i am amazed at you hard working young men.
Old dougo knows the tricks of the trade! Hopefully the boys took note! Haha
"Depends on how smart they are." That covers pretty much everything!
“Depends upon how smart you are…..”
Hilarious!!! Gets me through My days!!!
You guys have my sympathy working in your frigid environment! I hate cold weather. Love living in SC. Where we have all 4 seasons and just a few cold snaps where it may be in the 20’s for a week and then back to 40’s. Love your videos and watch every day to see if you’ve posted something new. You young bucks back off giving ole Dougo such a hard time. Reminds me of my sons!,😂
Erick you all well. Good to see you bud. Chet good as always.
10:15 ……. That is a professional right there !
Starting fluid and a torch are the best and the fastest cause I always have both those now lol
Hey Chet big Swede an dougo love watchin you guys farm makes me miss farming with dad an brothers. Was jus thinking of sumthin that would help you guys in your wash bay we had set of stairs on wheels that we could trip deal on front an it’d set on stands so didn’t move when u went up worked great for washing. Keep up great videos! Thankyou guys
You should have catwalks installed on ea. side that way you would be washing/blowing dirt/mud down then instead of up only to have to wash again from the ground. Just a suggestion from the peanut gallery 🤪💪👍🇺🇸
I like the way you take great care of your equipment, it will last longer.
Good to see that Dougo can still teach you young whippersnappers a new trick now and then!
I used to work out in that cold. That's why I moved to AZ🌵🤠
Hey Chet try putting a curved screen in there the refuse will go to the edges and the top will stay clean, no charge and Happy Newyear.
You guys can keep all that snow and cold weather. It gets cold enough for me here in good old South East Texas.
Bean stubble is the worse its tough and sharp . I've had a hole in my boot sole before from bean stubble the bean stalk stayed in the hole like a tire plug . To redwings defense the boot was 3 years old and plenty worn out. It's been between 15 and 8 degrees with 25 to 30 mph winds here in southern Michigan. I've been mowing ditches and trimming brush back around fields in our excavator with a brush mower and even with heat and carharts on its damn cold . Dougo and randy are lucky to have you young guys around they can just supervise and give advice. Great video keep up the good work !
Got alot of tillage done n grain hauled with those Trac rigs 5hat even triples would not hv done with last years wet duck pond grain fields. Just a huge amount of tough cleanup work... Nice that youre rigged up now for inside high pressure fire hose washing
Think about vegtable oil spraying that expensive dry fertilizer applicator n haul box truck unit to reduce corrosion after final end of season washdown
Loving the cleaning videos!! Need some time lapse videos of the equipment cleaning to get the full effect!
Too much fun playin' with ur hoses guys!
I feel your pain in the cold. Had to work on aircraft down in Antarctica. No joy.
chet, you are truly one smart and toughest guy. thanks for bringing us along
Great stuff as always ,Dougo was on top of things👍👍👍👍
Should have put in a standard acu drain with a grated top in the wash bay. There different sizes, width/heigh. And different types for different load bearing. At work we did put in 1000feet of it in a truck workshop. Needs its own footing and has to be shimmed to be flat(if the drain has slope built in it..) and grouted in. Then pour floor around it.
All you guys are too much fun, even Dougo ;-). Keep em coming!
I enjoy all your videos.
Hi Chet, you guys are awesome! I get a kick out of the 3 of you! Just an FYI. You said carbon dioxide. I believe it's monoxide.
Chet, better watch out sticking your hand down in that drain there might be a big ditch Beaver 🦫 in there. Lol. I also didn't think you would ever get you equipment clean after the Mud Fest. Great job/Video.
🇺🇸 Glad you have good ventilation, CO-whichever one killed my Dad, Grampy, Uncle and dang near me when I was 9! Be safe out there 🙏
You should put a metal mesh over the floor drain and bolt it to the concrete to keep the junk from clogging your drain
Never seen Doug’s 99 Dodge before! I had the exact same one except in white and sold it with 267,000 miles on it. Was still the most comfortable truck to drive.
Ask May Wes to make some fender extensions to keep the mud off the tractor and some type of wheel covers to keep the mud out of the track wheels. 😉
Hi Chet it’s nice to watch a new video team Larson farms
If you get the shop truck on flat ground with ice. Try putting the emergency brake on 4 to 8 clicks. The tighter. the e break the better TO A POINT. Poor mans e locker.
Happy New Year to you and yours, the big Swede too!
Thanks for bringing us along, I hope those 30 degree days work eastward to the U.P.
have a very good year, plenty of everything no issues good crop, and god bless you all
Great job Dougo Chet Eric have to hand it to you all loved the video never miss one and as always thank you for sharing and your time was really great.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
I understand what you are saying about working outside in the winter. Takes twice as long to do anything. And tires are the worst to work with in the cold. Wow. A mess you have on that digger. Know you guys will get it sorted out and back as new.
My compliments on the way all of you take care of your equipment. That red tractor before you started on it was terrific mess with the mud. Now that you and Eric spent the time on it looks like a new tractor again. You really take excellent care of your equipment. Absolutely outstanding!!!!!!
Seems winter time is hard on a person and equipment. Takes longer to do anything.
On your floor drain just a suggestion. Can you put a screen type piece over those big grates to catch the trash before it gets down in the drain????
Might save you some time later. Just saying.
About it for now. I will be quiet. You all take care and be safe. A pat on the head to Toby!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything.
The Iowa farm boy.
Is the Big Swede wearing some Cletus shades ? That would be a collaboration I’d watch
Orange sealant my favorite
Thanks y’all really enjoy your channel….
We use old LP tanks what we fill with air from our compressor. And use that as a portable air tank
Very great 👍 video on the farm again and have a great new year coming on the farm 🚜
Hard works pays off! She is looking beautiful!!
Enjoyable video!
Chet, I believe you meant to say “you won’t die from carbon monoxide”, not carbon dioxide. You guys really do a great job keeping your equipment clean and looking good… that’s smart, too. Well maintained equipment always adds value when it’s time to sell or trade!!
both carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO²) ... it's not ideal, but an exhaust fan sure does help and it's a fairly large building space.. doesn't mean you still can't get CO poisoning... at least they are aware
I love the clean and shiny eqipment.nice work fellas.
With that tractortdigger set up it looked like Christmas all over again. Dougo still has it.
For the floor drain: get a basket that fits the inner diameter of the drainage box, kind of like a pool filter. You can just lift it and dump out all the debris whenever it blocks up inside of shoving your hand in the mud hole hahaha. Probably cost you $10 to fab one up
A tip for you, make yourself a mesh basket to fit in the wash bay sump, with a handle on top, so that A, no debris goes into the drain away pipe, and B, when it does block, you can simply lift out, and empty the basket.
Tire soap a bucket of it around the tire between rim and tire has worked for me several times over.
I just saw it turn over 400K - yes you are that entertaining
Great video as usual. Thank God for that wash bay or you wouldn't be able to clean everything up. You guys are awesome! Keep safe!
Nice work Dougo! Showed those kids how to rock a stuck truck out!
love the newly designated loader tractor shed 😂
Make some wire mesh baskets for drainage, 😉 hook on to and emty them when its time…..
Spend a couple of grand or so, install an electric heavy duty trash pump with float switch w/pre-screen and your troubles will be over. You will have to jack hammer a new sump in plus wiring but it will end your plugged wash bay sump problems. Take the time to install bigger curtain drains while you are at it and you will have a Cadillac wash bay!
It's a good day when Dougo is teaching you young bucks how to drive truck in the snow
Great job on cleaning up your equipment you take great pride in it
Atta boy Dougo rock er out!
I do the ether trick on tires all the time works great when the tire is fully off the bead
Looking for to the next adventure 😎
That is awesome leave it to dad to get the truck unstuck! See young fellas us old guys know a thing or two , right Doug-o?
Way 2 go DOUGO!!!!!
Start fluid and fire 🔥
Great video thanks again
I’m glad you guys included some pressure washing footage we would love to see more of that
🔥tractor looks beauty 🔥👊🔥🏍🚜🛻🔨🪵
you could weld together a metal basket out of expanded metal and a frame that sits in the drain hole when it fills lift it out dump it and repeat
