Brilliant Haul. personally i would freeze the pork pies. i have frozen pork pies and saussage rolls and bridies etc before that had said that on the pack and they were absolutely fine. i think they dont recommend coz the pastry may no longer be as crispy after freezing due to moisture but honestly i couldnt tell the difference when i took em out of the oven.
That’s AMAZING!!! I wish we had this in Australia…. Not only a wonderful deal for people on low incomes but a great way to keep perfectly good food going into landfill. 👏🏻👍🏻
You can freeze the cheese Karen, up to you if you want to grate it first ! I would freeze the pork pies, would just wrap the in cling film first. Good boxes, hope you like radishes, you could always make bread and butter pudding or even bread pudding if you don't have a gang of freezer space.
A good haul 👍. Chicken fillets are really yummy stuffed with blue cheese and you can always add a bit of ham or bacon if any bits of those left to use up......if you've no chicken fillets, you can use diced chicken ........or if you've still got any of those tins of chicken in white sauce, add some of that blue cheese to make yummy chicken in sauce. Cauliflower cheese with blue cheese is also yummy. Even creamy mushrooms with blue cheese added into the sauce is yummy ......I have that on toast or garlic bread
I have loved many places that feed the poor. I've been to some that feed you for a month. That was back when I had good friends. Now I have only a bike to ride. I can't carry much food. The good folks are still out there. I love those who help us the poor.
An idea for the bread if you like cinnamon rolls. Something we did. We took bread, spread with butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Then we baked it in a toaster oven (you probably can use your air fryer). Had that for breakfast with milk (we were kids so no coffee or tea).
You can freeze pork pies just wrap them well to prevent freezer burn I do it all the time. I freeze a lot of things not suitable for freezing but then I’m a Sagittarius you can’t tell me what to do. Just google it first.
In Australia Aldi don't have these boxes and what is worse is the put locks on their dumpsters so people can't dumpster dive either.......I would hate to think how much food is thrown out at Aldi in Australia.
I always freeze pork pies they freeze well, I have been freezing food since 1973 and there was very little guidance back then, the texture may alter but you will probably not notice, food manufacturers say do not freeze so you will get their food in prime condition, you will not get food poisoning
You could make little cheese parcels with the cheese and a sheet of puff pastry... Good amount of food for the money. I would be careful with the pork pies too. The advice is there for a reason. Could be just a soggy bottom after defrosting, but there again it could be because of a risk of bad bacteria growing while defrosting.
Just drove 2 miles to pick up my first box. I got 11 bags of lettuce and a sandwich. As most were reduced by 75% it would have cost £2.80 at the till. But I had paid £3.30 on the app. Anyone got any recipe ideas
What a bargain. I dont think any shops do that in Australia I tnink the 2 boxes here would be about £50 at least. A good loaf of bread here is £3.50 alone. Good pick up for you.
I just don't get it, I love the recommendations and tips but what just please tell me why do I or anyone amd I mean anyone wants to hear and see other people shopping ? Yeah its cheap but ??????????????
For myself, I find it fascinating to see what other people buy and learn how they intend to use things. But then, I’m the sort of person that can’t help swan necking other folks’ trollies in the supermarket queue, either…😂
Great boxes! Shropshire blue and broccoli soup 😊
and with celery for soup too
It’s like hitting the jackpot! Very jealous of the boxes.
Boxes are best bit! 😸
VERY nice! Wow, the price!
Wow! Excellent haul! I want some Scottish bread! Wish they'd do this in the US! Thanks for sharing this!
You got a winner on those boxes

I've froze pork pies and sausage rolls as well and they've always be fine.
Fabulous boxes. You have good salad and sandwich fixings.
That’s AMAZING!!! I wish we had this in Australia…. Not only a wonderful deal for people on low incomes but a great way to keep perfectly good food going into landfill. 👏🏻👍🏻
Is Olio active there? And I googled a bit, and it seems to be one called "Foody Bag" for Australia? Probably just in large cities though.
Shropshire blue cheese is very nice used to stuff mushrooms and grilled so it melts.
Also good melted on steaks or beef burgers.
And it makes a fab cheese sauce, really strong flavour (but then I love blue cheese of any kind.)

Yeah, I freeze just about everything!
WOW! Glad you are both feeling on the mend.
Great finds! I've never seen Aldi in the US offer these. Sure wish they did!

Pork pies do freeze quite well, I do it all the time when they are on offer and I get 5 at a time and freeze 4
Used to be able to buy frozen ones
I wish we had these boxes available in the US
"Too good too go" is in some areas in USA, but very limited. Olio, and "food rescue US" seems to be more widespread there?
Kroger has the red bags on a shelf in the produce isle.
Those boxes were an excellent deal!
What a wonderful box
I have frozen pork pies before they will be fine. Cut the cheese in half and freeze. You can freeze the cakes as well.
Wow! Looks like the 2024 budgeting is off to a flying start, well done! Really wish we had the too good to go boxes here.
Great haul. Keep resting. Lil by lil you are sounding better and better.
I have frozen pork pies and never had a problem
Winner winner chicken dinner. You really did hit the jackpot on your boxes.
Wow thats a great load of food for the price.
I have frozen pork pies and they are fine to freeze! So get freezing them so you have a nice inventory of food to eat in the days to come!
Pretty impressive, indeed! Great bargain shopping!
All right! That will hold you for a while.
Wowsers! Looking forward to trying a tgtg from my new local Aldi!
i need to get one of them.
I have loved many places that feed the poor. I've been to some that feed you for a month.

Well done Karen one of those pieces of cheese would cost about $15 Australian ❤cristina😊
Hiya Karen. I know that you are feeling a bit better but you're breathing still doesn't sound right. Please take care of yourself ❤
Very nice haul
Great deal

Excellent haul!
Knew subscriber! I live in the middle of USA and they just have not quite grass to go up yet. I’m so jealous of what great boxes you guys get.
You can freeze pork pies just wrap them well to prevent freezer burn I do it all the time. I freeze a lot of things not suitable for freezing but then I’m a Sagittarius you can’t tell me what to do. Just google it first.
What a haul.
My goodness Karen, you've got some bargains there! The pork pies can be frozen. All that decent bread too. That is brilliant.
Shropshire Blue that’s where I live yet I’ve never tried the cheese I really should
I freeze pork pies- they are good warmed in the oven with mushy peas or baked beans to serve. Enjoy!
Oh Kathy , freeze the blue cheese then get yourself some e frozen broccoli and do some cheers and broccoli soup , it freezes so well xxx
Great boxes! And what a bargain.
i would freeze every thing might not taste as good but the nutrients still still be there , i freeze ripe bannas they are like ice cream
Old slimmers trick that one!
In Australia Aldi don't have these boxes and what is worse is the put locks on their dumpsters so people can't dumpster dive either.......I would hate to think how much food is thrown out at Aldi in Australia.
Good pick up's
Score!❤
I always freeze pork pies they freeze well, I have been freezing food since 1973 and there was very little guidance back then, the texture may alter but you will probably not notice, food manufacturers say do not freeze so you will get their food in prime condition, you will not get food poisoning
What time of the day can you buy these Too Good to Go boxes please? ❤
id still freeze the pork pies.🎉
Me too.
I am very glad that gluten free peope do not pick up these boxes be left starving.
For £3 you might get one gluten-free roll 😳
You could make little cheese parcels with the cheese and a sheet of puff pastry... Good amount of food for the money. I would be careful with the pork pies too. The advice is there for a reason. Theres a lot of sandwiches there. Cheese & lettuce, cheese & tomato, cheese & radish & beef the same varieties.
I like bok choy in my salads as well as stir fry.
£6.60 well spent Karen
What a haul xxxxxxxxxx
My Aldi gave me prawns & salmon fillets & lots of goodies. #JustSaying
Oh I may be just a teeny bit jealous there lol
Just drove 2 miles to pick up my first box. I got 11 bags of lettuce and a sandwich. As most were reduced by 75% it would have cost £2.80 at the till. But I had paid £3.30 on the app. Anyone got any recipe ideas
I have frozen pork pies before and never had any ill affects.
What a bargain. I dont think any shops do that in Australia I tnink the 2 boxes here would be about £50 at least. A good loaf of bread here is £3.50 alone. Good pick up for you.
Why do you think they're called Metro rolls?
Metro is an alternate name for subway (transport system) 🚇.
The Subway chain uses that style of roll 😹
@@icouldbewrongicouldberight *alternative. We're British here.
This is the stingy North East Gateshead and you'd never find bargains like those boxes here
I freeze pork pies all the time .
Remove the pastry from the pies, make meat "thing" with the meat and the tomatoes. Add pasta. ❤
All that bargain processed, poisonous crap!!
Didn't you do well, they were worth it just for the cheese and pork pies, you can freeze them with the bread.
Sadly some of these Too Good To Go stuff is stuff which will go off quickly. Sadly it becomes tat and useless.
Good for the price, but not too good for your health! I cant tolerate gluten, so most of it would be useless.
I just don't get it, I love the recommendations and tips but what just please tell me why do I or anyone amd I mean anyone wants to hear and see other people shopping ? Yeah its cheap but ??????????????

So that's what they do with the 75% of stickers.
Nevr see more than 30% of in store nowadays.
