      Op is right. It isn't just some people, it's just wether or not youre willing to deal with the side effects for a few days when you stop. Sleeping first few nights kinda difficult, eating full meals is very difficult when you quit and most of all you get a sense of feeling bored which leads most back. I've on and off smoked for so many years. The side effects arnt shit at this point, literally the bordom for the first few days is the only thing that is abit annoying when I quit now. It's mostly a mind thing, but it's side effects definitely can have some minor physical side effects. Let's also not forget that the inside of that pipe is exactly what our grass Is making our lungs look like. So that's not great either.

    I used to smoke everyday for 12 years straight. But even though I quit, I still fully support marijuana 110%. However, I will say that out of everything that I've done, and have gave up - quitting smoking weed was one of the hardest to deal with, and it was almost entirely mental. I was fully dependent on my bud, and when I split away from it, I wasn't myself for at least 6-8 months later. I eventually balanced back out. But I do know for a fact, that for those of us who are prone to addiction, (and even for some of those people who are not) - it is definitely something that can lead to mental, and physical dependency. It's "withdrawals" or whatever you want to call them, won't cause as much pain and havoc as say, an opiod. But it still messes with you in more ways than one when you stop - especially when you do it like I did.

    If you want to know "how bad marijuana is" for you, remind yourself that this man is 84 years old. Here he is having very mentally sharp conversations and still doing daily exercises and happy and eloquent and loving life. At 84! And a chronic smoker! Or how Willie Nelson is still touring at 90 years old and he's another stoner. Meanwhile, the angry stressed out drinkers in his generation (who largely hated "stoners") are now either dead and gone, or in WAY worse shape. Marijuana has some chemicals that aren't great for your lungs just like cigarettes, but two HUGE differences are that most people are puffing maybe half a joint to a joint a day, not 3 damn packs like cigarettes, and also, there's anti-inflammatory and anti-tumoral properties in cannabis that roughly offset the carcinogenic harm to bring it roughly net-neutral in terms of lung cancer risk. On top of that, it's psychologically de-stressing for people, and stress itself is terrible for immune health and inflammation. Most old stoners are people where weed helped them take life a little easier than their dead peers.

Those times when you're just sitting there feeling really good but you don't remember doing anything to get a buzz. Because honestly sometimes that just happens you feel almost like you're high, when you did nothing to get high. That's the amazing thing about life and the human body, sometimes even if you're a heavy user like Steve was at times you just feel good because of endorphins in your body naturally.

    Aside from the positive affects like treating pain, anxiety or lowering blood sugar or cholesterol: One can develop Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) - This means that you develop such an ironclad tolerance to marijuana that you have to consume increasing amounts to feel the same euphoric sensations. Other draw backs are that some people may develop respiratory problems and as it increases heart rate can have cardiovascular affects and cannabis withdrawal is also related to watering eyes, depression and restless leg syndrome.

    Weed is addictive if you have an addictive personality and love weed.
    Weed can absolutely screw up your life when abused: screws up your relationships, career, and health. Still better than alcohol or other harder drugs. But will hold you back.
    To each their own. I had to quit weed to have career and relationship success.
    Now only really have caffeine. Still miss weed but just not worth it for me

    • @jbarkerhill92
      @jbarkerhill92 3 года назад

      @Grant Kerr it’s all about the dose. Dose makes the poison, as they say. You can even die from drinking too much water.
      I think if equally abused, alcohol’s much worse than weed.
      But weed is easier to abuse cuz it’s seemingly less disruptive. You can wake and bake every day and go to work.
      But you eventually end up frying your feel good chemicals and need weed just to feel normal, while you barely get high anymore.
      If someone can do weed in moderation good for them. But as an addict I don’t do moderation.
      Now I drink coffee addictively but that’s a working man’s drug and it’s not going to derail my life

    • @jbarkerhill92
      @jbarkerhill92 3 года назад

      @Grant Kerr In a way it sucks to give up weed for good.
      Cuz it can be an awesome substance, giving euphoria, personal insight, enhancing music, and even spiritual benefits like being in present moment and transcending ego.
      But it quickly goes downhill and becomes a toxic friend.
      It’s kind of like junk food, in that it feels good in moment but you regret it, it screws up your health, and it’s never enough and you always crave more.
      Achieving good feelings naturally takes a lot more work, but is more sustainable and worth it for the improvement in your life

Physical addiction leads to short term withdrawal symptoms, mental addictions lead to relapse years after quitting. If physical addiction was the most crucial component in long term rehabilitation, why do most addicts have a relatively easy time quitting in the first few weeks/months but such a hard time maintaining sobriety over time? Easy, the body is only addicted to drugs/alcohol/etc for a short period of time and is completely non-addicted after detoxing, the mind however is addicted for life. Heroin, for example, is not so much dangerous because it's physically addictive (heroin withdrawal isn't even as serious as alcohol withdrawal).......it's dangerous because it's so mentally addictive that people OD trying to chase an impossible high.

    I’ve never had physical withdrawals from it but when I don’t smoke I get worked up easier so I go back to smoking. Idk if you would consider that addiction but yea it’s definitely in a grey area.

      @Riley D I don’t get any of that bro I just get annoyed easier not no mood swings or heat flashes dawg and I sleep like a baby. I just feel with marijuana you just blow off little annoying things that happen throughout the day and when I’m sober it’s just in my face no escaping it 😂

    Smoked weed/dabs every day for 4+ years. High basically the entire day besides when sleeping. I quit cold turkey a month ago just to see who was in control; it or me. Well it wasn’t as hard as I thought.. now I have 0 cravings for it and never think about it really

      I smoked nearly daily from 18 to 28. Wanted to find a better job so I quit cold turkey. Haven't smoked in almost 5 years. It was very easy. Not drinking has been a much larger challenge. I do miss weed quite a bit though. I should be able to smoke at home of I want. People come in hungover every single day but I'd get fired for smoking sometime in the past 3 days if I get randomly tested. Its stupid as all hell. I work with drunks, heroine addicts, and coke heads. The guys who typically get fired for failing a ua is because of weed. I

      @@GodBlezzAmerica Weed withdraws are mental (for most people), if you even go through withdraw when you quit smoking. Like the OP said.. Trouble focusing, trouble sleeping, lack of an appetite, minor mood swings, etc. I personally never have had withdraw from weed, but pills and other harder drugs are on a whole other level. You literally feel like you want to die and it lasts days, or even weeks.

    It's an habitual habit for sure. Addictive no. Up until 2 weeks ago, I literally smoked all through out the day for the last 13+ years and because I have a better job opportunity coming I decided to stop. The first night was rough only because I had time to fill that is usually filled with smoking

    Being fully present is only possible when you're sober. For those who do it and don't care about quitting, it's not addictive. For those trying to be more present, but are still psychologically attached to the escape, it is very addictive.

    I'd say it's much more addictive when you are young for sure, I found it hard not to want to smoke it but it wasn't as if I was climbing the walls to get a hit! As I've got older that need or want for it has gone. I think most people get in the habit of smoking it, because it makes you so chill and the more you smoke it the more you end up really feeling like you need it and that you can't cope without it. Like with anything, some people can drink once a week, once a month and they are fine, but those same people if they started just "having a couple glasses of wine" every night of the week, soon that couple turns in to a bottle and its easy to get sucked into being addicted, you forget what it really feels like not to do that thing, it can blunt you to the point that you can't really handle normality. Anything can be addictive, people get addicted to sex, porn, exercise, things that are not chemicals that you consume.
