2007 Round 1 Manly Sea Eagles vs. Canberra Raiders

For a second consecutive year, the Sea Eagles launched their NRL season at home to Canberra. This time though, it was a more convincing display as two tries to star recruit Jamie Lyon led Manly to a 32-6 trouncing at Brookvale.
The much vaunted new Manly halves combination of Lyon and captain Matt Orford had little time together with the former Parramatta star moved back to his old position of centre early on in the game due to an unfortunate injury to Steve Matai. Jamie "Killer" Lyon showed his absolute class in this game and was the catalyst for Manly going all the way to the Grand Final later in the year.
