This song brings me the closest to crying out of any song, but I still do not cry. I am also not sure why it makes me feel this way. I know what part of the song makes me feel this way (the background chorus), and I know what I associate with it (Frutiger Aero, the past, a future we never got), but I don't know why it's so strong.
This remix does what the original song can't for me. I've been a part of the Super Monkey Ball community (passively) for a long time now (10+ years). I heard this song nearly every day for a couple of years, and just hear it on and off every now and then. It doesn't really do anything for me. But your remix. It absolutely slapped me in the face with the nostalgia, and I couldn't be more thankful for it. It just made me feel like a young kid again, getting home from school and going to my room with my CRT TV, turning on my PS2 and loading up Deluxe. It even brought back a memory I'd forgotten for a long time. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
I can't say I was one who regularly played this with friends, as in my childhood friend group no one really knew what Monkey Ball was, and despite my efforts to get them interested, they couldn't get into it. I remember the whole group would play the mini games on the DS version with Download Play, but they were just not into it. The girls would've rather played Animal Crossing, and the guys wanted to play Sonic. But I was (and still am) obsessed with the little monkeys.
I am so sorry for your loss. My father suffered the same death a couple months ago, the wounds are still fresh, but this theme is making me feel good memories I have of him. Stay strong for your sister, for she wants nothing less than that, and one day, you will see her again in the afterlife.

One of the best things about the game cube was the graphics. Monkey target looked amazing.

I had deluxe ever since I was a child. Still play it once in awhile nowadays. Such a treasure to have and the memories I hold with this game~
Monkey Target is by far one of my favorite themes from the series so hearing you do it justice with a remix is perfect
