With regards to the trunk release with foot movement, the manual clearly states that the sensor is located next to the left exhaust pipe underneath the car. It works all the time and the kids love it!
It is not just today that I admire your camera work. I was always fascinated by the quality, the angles, the audio quality and the color grading for the most part. You dont see this kind of quality often. Many people and many channels try to raise their production quality by mounting a bunch of cheap cameras to the car or by doing "some" kind of b-roll - but imho, you mastered the category of long, in depht reviews on RUclips. Quality content!
Gorgeous camera-work and editing which suits the subject of the video beautifully. Time-lapsed landscapes, slow-mo.s, voiceover and sheep! Great idea to include second opinions from those who provide the artistry. Well done, Guys!
Beautiful camera work on the intro and interior. The door behaved the way it did because you had your thumb on the little rectangular area where you put your finger to lock the car at the same time you had your fingers inside the door handle which is used to unlock it. The trunk opens by using a straight forward kick, not moving left and right. A straight forward kick is the natural thing to do. Thanks AJ :)
Dear AJ, many thanks for this nice review. I love your style of reviewing a car, you give a lot of attention to details like the used materials in the interior. Your colleagues aren't very specific when it comes to that, unfortunately. The intro was fantastic, a lovely combination of peaceful music and wonderful shots of the car itself. I have an advise for you and the whole team, why not check all materials in the interior like you do on the door? The used materials and the processing give a pretty good intention of how fancy a car really is. Keep up the good level und liebe Grüße aus Österreich.
I don't think you fairly analysed the engine. It won Wards Engine of the Year in 2015. This isn't the version with the supercharger, its just a normal 2.0L turbo with direct injection, same as everyone else. There is nothing complicated about the 2.0L turbo "with its turbocharger and wastegate"
For some reason, the part of the intro where the vehicle is travelling through a "dark" forest reminds me of the Grimm's version of the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood (which I actually liked quite a bit :D). Excellent details and camerawork through the entire video.
Perfect review AJ! Only one point from my side: when reviewing the rear compartment of the vehicle, I would recommend to film it "from the other side", i.e. when you are sitting behind the driver's seat, you should film from the right side - then your viewers can get better feeling regarding the space, materials etc.
I keep saying this, touchscreens in cars, are not usefull. I've tried it, and I still think buttons (like in my V40) are more easier to use daily. Your brain can remember its location, on a touch screen you have to look everytime. Anyway, great video as always !
Yes, indeed. I do like what you do and will count your reviews when i buy my next new car. It so good that you say all what find not being afraid what the the car maker will say. Since i read Auto Bild and Top Gear, frankly, i do like German practical approach towards the cars. Wish more and more nice comments and subscribers
I have also just ordered the t5 r design pro. Are you happy with it, and what's it like on fuel? Afer having lots of issues with the dpf filter on my discovery sport iv decided top go for a petrol car
Great channel and great reviews guys. One thing tho, i know in most of your tests of the new volvos you have issues with the climate control, you are able to control it with voice command :) Very easy and safe, no fiddeling with the screen.
Press the button on steering wheel, and just say "im cold" or just say the temperature you want set =) here you go support.volvocars.com/uk/Pages/article.aspx?article=e514737236851e79c0a801511143e11b
Very cool special intro and whole video really. I don’t know if every review needs to be like this though. Probably would take a lot of extra work anyway. I think if someone’s going to pay that much for an XC60, the PHEV is the obvious choice. I don’t know if you can get it with the R Design. But if not, a petrol engine would make more sense if you want a sporty ride and an engine that doesn’t sound like a tractor.
One more question AJ, as you have also reviewed the new BMW X3. I am looking for a midsize SUV (4,6 - 4,7m) with a petrol engine. I would like to have a bit of fun with the car, so more emphasis on a sporty ride than on comfort. From the costs, engine power, size etc. the XC60 T5/T6 seems to be roughly comparable with the X3 30xi. Which one would you choose? After your review I would assume BMW has a better engine and would probably be the sportier of the 2 cars. Or do you see it differently?
Matej Babjak hi Matej, the x3 is definitely the more fun to drive suv. Especially the m40i that i drove. Sharp steering, smooth and strong petrol engine, and controlled handling. The downside of the x3 in my opinion is the space in the back seat. It is not as large at the xc60.
I liked the review, however, it’s annoying that the title says “R-Design” but then there are tons of additional extras that you don’t get in an real-life R-Design...
Hi, well done. Though, you could mention, you can do almost all settings of the car with voice command. Just hit the voice command button and say what you want the car to do. It's actually working very well. I think this is the future - for safety reasons you should not be fumbling around with any settings at all, during your driving. Volvo philosophy? Would be nice if you could test it and come back with a review on the voice commands. Ah, btw, is the car your testing equipped with the "acoustic windows" or not? Cheers /Dodo
Great intro I liked, it can be your signature before each review, we can say, hımm, this is AJ and Jonas review. I already watched NA motor show reviews it was also job. Just a recommend if you accept, review is a little bit long I think finaly, thank you for great efforts and please keep it.
this is quite common, recent trend: one need to pay more for less (and it was not the case for premium brands yet ~10-15 years ago where premium meant something really valuable and not just ping interior lighting and soft materials)
Much of the things you did in the screen can you do with woice. Did you try that? Ex the climat Controll? I just read it in the manual. Did you try that?
I remember that you do not like the climate control instead of the physical buttons because it takes multiple steps to adjust your perferences. But if they want to do a clean design then it has to be touch screen, I am sure you will never like the Tesla.
This review feels a bit biased. It’s not hit and miss if you don’t know how to open the doors or the trunk, if autopilot gets confused when there is work done on the roads etc, you cannot feel power but when you do you dont like it and so forth.
if you can't open the hatch 50% of the time, it is either the car defect or more likely you didn't research your subject enough to know where to kick under the bumper. making uninformed comment just makes you look amateurish.
=) I guess some of those mentioned shots were done when it was already quite dark outside, plus bad weather, and then with low lights the shots can get a little fuzzy
Yeah, it was very late when we did a lot of shots so we needed to bump up the ISO like crazy 🤪 That's why you don't want to shot in the wintertime. It gets dark to early 😉
That intro.... WOW!
while opening the door, do not put your thumb on the locking pad. only put your hand in the door handle and open.
oh god, I facepalmed irl :D
With regards to the trunk release with foot movement, the manual clearly states that the sensor is located next to the left exhaust pipe underneath the car. It works all the time and the kids love it!
AJ and Jonas did some experimenting these days, tell us if you like the things they created :)
Autogefühl nice car, but review is better with Thomas.
I think the intro you did is really good but it has to take a very long time to do. but keep going with it as long as it's not too hard
Love it :)

thanks so much !
I want all reviews like this, superdetailed, this is that I want to see and hear in reviews, Thanks AJ.
Gorgeous camera-work and editing which suits the subject of the video beautifully. Time-lapsed landscapes, slow-mo.s, voiceover and sheep! Great idea to include second opinions from those who provide the artistry. Well done, Guys!
Agree. Good Review Aditya and Jonas.
Amazing job on the intro. Could be a Volvo commercial.
I realize I am pretty off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch newly released series online ?
@Shane Peter I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google :)

+Geert Leyseele 👌
Really GREAT hearing from Jonas in the back seat!

First I think a Volvo ad. Great job Jonas behind the scene.

The base price is already ridiculous - but a great review anyway, good job AJ

Great shots!
Best part of the intro 00:06 So majestic ;)
Great review!

LOVE the new intro!!! Great job!
thanks keep joining us!!
Very informative review ! The presenter speaks a bit more that I would like but he is good!
Fantastic intro!

young customers think differently. And yes making two click to adjust temperature is not too much (apparently ot was for this reviewer....)
Very nice review. Again fantastic job.

thanks for the support !
nice Review AJ
great review AJ . shame a bout the wheels tho . goes to show how much of a difference a set of 21 inch diamond cut alloys can make to the car ? 👍
liked your review a lot, ordered exactly this car, only in white. Tks.
I have also just ordered the t5 r design pro. Are you happy with it, and what's it like on fuel? Afer having lots of issues with the dpf filter on my discovery sport iv decided top go for a petrol car
Great channel and great reviews guys. One thing tho, i know in most of your tests of the new volvos you have issues with the climate control, you are able to control it with voice command :) Very easy and safe, no fiddeling with the screen.
oh thanks for the hint, how exactly does it work ?
Press the button on steering wheel, and just say "im cold" or just say the temperature you want set =) here you go support.volvocars.com/uk/Pages/article.aspx?article=e514737236851e79c0a801511143e11b
ok great we ll try that next time we have a volvo :)
No problem, do that =)

Yeah
That why I relay with analogue gauges, they don't let you down while driving.
Hi, well done.

Thanks for your feedback 😊
Does your test car has acoustic glass panes? My XC60-17 has it and it's not loud at all
they always equip them full spec
Volvos always look heavy and graceless to me and this one is no exception.
Great SUV ,but base price is already expensive. The PSA Group small SUV s are cheaper and more value for money than this Volvo.
Still great videos!!
Gregory Gant i think i would go for the Puegeot 3008 🤔
You cant seriously compare a PSA SUV with this Volvo....they are on different planets....
this is quite common, recent trend: one need to pay more for less (and it was not the case for premium brands yet ~10-15 years ago where premium meant something really valuable and not just ping interior lighting and soft materials)
Hi AJ I would like to know why do you say that the engine is inefficient? You said the gas consumption was 10.5 liters to 100kms, it is bad? Thanks!
Yeah it’s always quite high in consumption
Much of the things you did in the screen can you do with woice. Did you try that? Ex the climat Controll? I just read it in the manual. Did you try that?

Better than Audi Q5
The Volvo dont drinks 10 literst in 100 But if you drive all the time at Dynamik modus it will drink more then 7 to 8 literst
Another BMW boy driving a VOLVO
name of the music at the beginning ?!!

making uninformed comment just makes you look amateurish.
The sheep seems not to be too impressed :)
I think there is something wrong with the darker areas in the video. I see a lot of fuzz in dark areas.
maybe you are already on your way to the dark side
:)
The intro is very well done, I really love it
=)

Nice review but it's just another Yummy Mummy anodyne XC. Leaves me stone cold.
Those wheels 🤮
One of the most boring reviews ever seen. I know its Volvo but its not that boring to have a review like this....
The external design is Copy Paste of Mazda CX-5
And not the other way around?
Mazda "borrowed" the design from Volvo (RESEARCH)
Georgi Todorov lol....no
LOL. Vision of ecstacy
