And it goes even beyond that. They show how to live with INTEGRITY, which is an art in itself. You might even say it's the highest form of art because it is backed with true PURPOSE, not just an aesthetic. Mellow is definitely a tribe of folks from which the rest of the world could and should be learning.
this might be my third time ever leaving a youtube comment, but the production value of this video was so friggin amazing i had to step in a fourth time. christ almighty
Love the motif of time ticking down...every climber can relate to that fear of being on a climbing trip and running out of time before they have to pack up and abandon their project. Looks like this time Jimmy beat the clock. Congrats :) and outstanding job Nathaniel, looking forward to seeing more of your art in the future!
My favorite climbing film in years. Totally engaging and gives a feel not just of the climbs, but of the location, the people, and the "good times". Big ups , Nathaniel.
Incredible work by Nathanial. The climbing is cool for sure but the story telling and cinema happening here is just next level. Well done as always Mr Davidson.
This video is fucvking sick, one of the best mellow videos I have seen in a bit. Love the editing and the soundtrack. 10/10 can't wait to see what you guys release next
My god that's some might fine work. Back in the day we'd wait a year for Dosage to come out on DVD and now we get THIS for FREE? Ridiculous. F*cking nice work, Nathaniel. The pacing, the slo-mo, the GVs, the cut aways, the details. Oh, and the music. Can I be the 1000th person to say how epic the music was AGAIN? Keep em coming.
I was in the winds actually around the same time this was happening, constantly looking around and asking my self, "Is that climbable?" great to see people actually getting out there and doing it!
The editing on this is so chaotic and weird and I'm into it. I think sometimes there's too much effort put into creating a narrative when all we want are vibes.
Just was up there this last Fall to tag Pingora and Wolfs Head. But we saw SO much potential for bouldering. STOKED to see this! Hopefully we will see you all up there next season.
@@ionzabalza9916 there are lots of trails into and throughout the Winds. A great place for an adventure no doubt. It all depends on where you’re going and where you want to start from. Either way, be ready for a relatively long hike in.
Nathaniel Coleman you are head and shoulders above every other climbing filmmaker. I hope you see this comment and I hope they paid you one million dollars to make this.
This video is nothing short of mesmerizing. I was left truly speechless at the end. This ascends climbing as one of the most gorgeous videos i've seen in years, in an incredible location, with 4* climbs. Thank you Nathaniel!
The scenery and bouldering are incredible and I love the expedition style. But I dont understand why this video is edited and cut so much, for me a more raw editing would give the bouldering and scenery more space and ist would feel a bit more real. Nevertheless a nice video!
Nice one Jimbub but this vid wayyyyy overdone... i had to bail by 2:30 due to motion sickness from off beat quick cuts and shaky, too high frame rate footage. Less is more.
Looooove this! But I have to say the potato salad remix (starting at 1:55) kills me left ear, the ringing is unbearable. Other than that, I love soundtrack and the video!
2000 years in the future archeologists will see these improvised landings and know that Jimmy Webb once bouldered here.
This goes beyond climbing, this is ART. Everyone behind mellow is doing truly invaluable work.
True dat!
yes!!

ur mom
I can't even begin to imagine how sandbagged that deep water solo V2 is haha
Not a typo, it’s V3 though. Eric Jerome got the second ascent
@@utopin Not a typo, at least not that big of one. It’s V3
when a problem is “sandbagged” does that mean it’s lower than it really is?
@@heleezy Yeha rated lower than it should be
Nathaniel Davison just films and edits the best climbing videos out there and that is all I am going to say
The Rooftown series is where it’s at. Amazing look at the sanctity and difficulty of first ascents
@@ascotter Where can I find this series? Cheers 🖖
Jesper, search "rooftown vol 1" and you'll find the series
@@jepps0n search Nathaniel Davidson Rooftown or as another comment mentioned, Rooftown Volume One. Happy watching!
that flapper was crazyy
I knew right away that Nathaniel was filming and editing. Unmistakable style. Been too long since I’ve seen a climbing flick like this! 🙏👏
Nathaniel has ruined all other climbing videos for me. Nothing compares to his style.

One of the greatest climbing videos I’ve ever seen. I could (and will) watch this over and over again

I don’t know how but the content this channel creates just keeps getting better and better!
Incredible work by Nathanial. The climbing is cool for sure but the story telling and cinema happening here is just next level. Well done as always Mr Davidson.
The level of cinematography went through the roof on this one, for real. Keep it up!
Glad to see nathaniel davison back in action. Amazing work!
Brokeback Mountain vibes 😍
This is a piece of art! The style of this short movie is just a absolute masterpiece!

Ha, I just read some of the other comments. That edit is Marmite, it seems. Be bold.
I was in the winds actually around the same time this was happening, constantly looking around and asking my self, "Is that climbable?" great to see people actually getting out there and doing it!
Art. The climbing. The footy. The edit. The tunes. Nathaniel at another level.
I like mellow video and editing, but this one is too much for me. Too much visual effects.
Masterfully done vid! And superb sendfest. Hope to see more from Davison!
Helluva telescope you gave us, Jimmy. Glad to see you enjoying yourself now.
That's "Smiling" Wes Walker.
Helluva guy.
What a beautiful piece of art. WELL DONE! Some of the best climbing videos are I've ever seen on this channel, seriously!
Great shots and climbing. Would love to see more mellow vids like this!
What a stunning little film.
A few of the boom bap remixes had me waiting for that "Cookin' Soul" tag
I was there too! Old guys don't count any more...
you had your 3 sec of fame on that v4 proj in the meadow !!
@@eric.jerome true that was probably the third best part of the vid, 2nd being watching Jimmy steal all your projects..
What a dreamy vid. Well done Nathaniel Davison. Another amazing short.
Super artfully done. Pure class
this is art, well done boys
This artstyle definetly fit well here in such beautiful locations. A sweet film for sure!
Beautifully filmed! Dare I say … a tad over edited.
The editing on this is so chaotic and weird and I'm into it. I think sometimes there's too much effort put into creating a narrative when all we want are vibes.
Jimmy is such a fucking beast.
BRAVO. Davidson is back!!!
Just was up there this last Fall to tag Pingora and Wolfs Head. But we saw SO much potential for bouldering. STOKED to see this! Hopefully we will see you all up there next season.
Hi Ben
what would be the trailhead to such amazing place? I would like to visit such places in my next trip to WY and if possible, climb too

Stunning video! best i've seen in a long time. really enjoyed every second
Beautiful video. Also loved seeing a V2 in a mellow video!
Video quality is just getting better and better, turning into old skool skate videos and I can’t get enough
Finally the Backcountry Bouldering sequel I've been waiting for
sick climbing, sick scenery, sick video
Wow this is a piece of art.
Straight fire right there. Way to send it deep
Great flick with classic Nathaniel sound design! So good.
This is the greatest video i've ever seen
Cool to see Jimmy trusting those falls after the leg injury.
I will never complain about a flapper ever again... 😖0:33
This film is next level
Best mellow video by far. Art 🚬
so awesome to see Jimmy send that project after that gnarly flapper
Nathaniel Coleman you are head and shoulders above every other climbing filmmaker. I hope you see this comment and I hope they paid you one million dollars to make this.
Just fyi, it's Nathaniel Davidson that created this film. Nathaniel Coleman is the climber.
Wow, nice content! Counter attack is a beautiful line!
Incredible piece of climbing film making. So much storytelling in the edit and shots. Plus, yea, Jimmy Webb
Amazing video
such great filming and editing.
This is high art. Incredible editing.
this is a masterpiece. props to nathaniel

Nah guys this is just the next level of editing, crazy job guys !
This is mellow.
my guy snuck a beauty of a v2 into a mellow viddy
amazing film.
Such a good video
Who else thinks Aqua Llama has got to be the most sandbagged V2 of all time?
The scenery and bouldering are incredible and I love the expedition style. But I dont understand why this video is edited and cut so much, for me a more raw editing would give the bouldering and scenery more space and ist would feel a bit more real. Nevertheless a nice video!
The editing is the best part! Plenty of uncut footage out there hahaha. I think it's sick
Heck yeah, Wes!!!
Thats a hell of a video!
amazing stuff dudes
omg the music and edits. best climbing video ive ever seeeeeen
The music was 🔥
Gets me so amped
incredible video
the editing on this is insane
Beautifully edited video😍 killer sends guys
Mellows editing is insane, the climbing is insane, crazy how underrated this channel is. WE WANT MERCH!
Stunning 😍
Epic, just epic.
absolute banger
Generally love mellow content, but trying to watch this is like trying to watch a video with really bad lag. Brings me back to dial up internet.
Gotta love that V8 they show with all of 3 seconds of footage and massive jump cuts showing like none of the climbing
Mellow literally just keeps getting better and better with every video. This is a masterpiece
Nice one Jimbub but this vid wayyyyy overdone... i had to bail by 2:30 due to motion sickness from off beat quick cuts and shaky, too high frame rate footage. Less is more.
Really nice Video, I like it tat thre is no talking at all.
Is there a possible sitstart to the revenant?
what a film

Anyone know what remix of Backseat Freestyle this is? 5:21
The aesthetic is so fire
11:36 the most Tennessee thing to say after doing that boulder so casually
love to see it 🤙
Cool to see the redemption after following the last trip and seeing the flapper end it early.
🔥🔥
soooo so good. This really makes me want to get out there on some similar adventure far out there. Damn.
omg looks so idyllic!
