Apparently you have no appreciation for a panelist who has the strength of his convictions to go against the status quo in tense debates when a majority of NRL ex-player panellists uphold out-dated opinions on mental health. Maybe you should look back to the similar NRL 360 debates in the past (on head concussions for example) and then you might come to the conclusion that ex-players often get it horribly wrong on player welfare AND that might make you think twice before slamming the one voice (Buzz) on NRL 360 who regularly and fearlessly confronts ex-footballers on camera. That's the bravery and resilience that I respect and that's the voice (Buzz) that often makes this show worth listening to.

Gus tried this at Penrith and eventually he was politely asked to step aside. CC is also evidence of the culture as he's like he's aged a few years. It is not working... there is no evidence to suggest it'll be different in 2024. Gus likes yes men but they find out it's stressful and exhausting when thet basically have no voice. Cleary .. Griffin .. Potter.. Barrett .. and now Ciraldo.

Point 1..if your suffering mental health and cant hack the training...its not for you...Point 2. if you cant work 8-5, for $400k per year, then its not for you..Point 3...if you assume your a starter...its not for you...on all counts the players are in the wrong..just because you complain doesnt mean your right...this is the problem with our country and the minority WOKE..they expect everyone to make ways for them..sorry...

Funny how Buzz is going on about mental health when him, Gordy and Greg Alexander ripped Milford for a year straight. Where was the mental health check on him? What if the worst happened to Milford. You all would be trialed.

And Luke Brooks. But that's part of being in a high-profile sport, which means you get well paid. There's a very simple way to stop them talking about you like that - play better. If you're not up to it, move on. Big money isn't guaranteed to anyone in life - except for those who inherit all of daddy's wealth. And those types aren't footballers.

To be fair Buzz has a point.
Ciraldo is openly blaming and bagging his players but the fact is they were going better under Potter than Ciraldo who has a better roster than Potter had which begs the question why.
Obviously there are more problems at Doggies than a few disgruntled players.
Why is Ciraldo a protected species with almost all ex players and journos ?

    • @peenweinerstein9968

He’s not a protected species, it’s just that people with 2 brain cells realise it takes more than a few years to build a club and ciraldo is doing everything you’d expect him to do at current phase

Buzz off to the races with his "points" because he despises Gus Gould. As Gordie said, "It's okay to say, rugby league is not for me." Don't like wrestling or consequences? Then arrive on time. Pretty simple for someone earning $200k-$400k.

Don't buy into this. It's so evidently clear that Cameron Ciraldo was liking Jacob Preston's efforts in training and attitude, but won't admit to having favourite players. Ciraldo is obviously trying to look to the future for Canterbury and keep the club's best interests. A coach has to be so transparent and so clear on the role a player will play at any club. If you don't, then chances are the player is going to do what they want and hit out at the coach.

    Recruitment isn't the issue.
    A squad needs depth.
It needs a team of 30 that can take the field whenever called up to 1st grade , be putting in 100% effort in each week at training and even when playing reserve grade.
Effort is the issue, not recruitment.
When you are losing, it takes a mental toll, and confidence drops.

Thanks Jimmy for making an articulate patient argument. Respectfully though sadly, Buzz clearly doesn’t get it and is missing the point. You can tell this when he flounders and flusters when he brings up Davey’s recruitment which is not relevant to the argument. It looks like Davey had a grievance with the club and an axe to grind. Mental health is extremely important but it is not a ‘trump card’ for everything. You’re kidding me if there has been no young journalists under Buzz’a watch that couldn’t cut it - did they cite mental health illness too?
