Grief and failure.
Burn in my veins.
Vice and regret, coursing through me.
Breathing in, feel it aching.
Cold black heartbreak, lungs collapsing.
Dear departed, violent hands.
Faith forgotten, no redemption.
Heart rate fallen, coughing timber.
Committed to earrth, by the hands of your father.
Glory be, bloodline buried.
I am no one.
I am nothing.
Glory be, bloodline buried.
I am no one.
I am nothing.
Forgive me my father, for I am a sinner.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Forgive me my father, for I am a sinner.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Glory be, bloodline buried.
I am no one.
I am nothing.
Glory be, bloodline buried.
I am no one.
I am nothing.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Unanswered, abandoned.
Zevoa Isn't it 'bloodline buried'
+Zevoa "Breathing defeat", isn't it? I could be wrong. Nontheless thanks for lyrics
Zevoa (Could be wrong but we've all gotta wait for the official lyrics), instead of "Coughing timber.", wouldn't "Coffin timber" make more sense? In the same breath, "Committed to worth" again sounds more like "Committed to earth". I mean if this is the Priest burying the younger brother (his biological son????), then that'd work better surely.
I love it how they repeat this "I am no one, I am nothing" line in every album (except ED&SN, as I remember)
THE PRIEST IS THE YOUNGER SONS FATHER... I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT FEELS TRIP
The feels are real
Reminds me 'Song 10' by As I Lay Dying.
Amazing
i actually think this is an improvement over the previous disc, but if you want to really get into it, it would probably help if you were raised as a catholic, and are either struggling with it or have already rejected it. i went to a catholic school, but i didn't participate in the religion (i did not accept the eucharist, and i was never confirmed.) because i essentially rejected it offhand. i was the kid in the catholic system that was an atheist by the age of ten, skipped out on services, etc. so, i didn't experience that struggle - i just never took it seriously enough to struggle with it. i was reading 1000 page stephen king novels by the time i was ten, so it wasn't that daunting to just pick the bible up and read it - and i just discarded it immediately as absurd. i skipped a few parts in the middle, but i did make it through to the end....and haven't looked at it since.
i've pointed out on similar records that i like the abstraction, and this is certainly consumable as a work of fiction, but you might find yourself disinterested in the topic if you never really had time for religion, even if you're not really looking to relate, directly.
but, that's a personal opinion.
the disc is well-crafted and in that sense is a return to form, even if you find that this chapter is a little less interesting than the previous ones.
i know they lost their guitarist. but, i actually have a hunch that the next disc might be a high point.

I guess the next album has to be the Mother's perspective.
we can only hope
@@cythedd It would be "dope" do ho ho ho. But pls.
Bad album, amazing song. How the fuck is this only a bonus track?
This isn't a bonus track. It's the last song on the album not including the two bonus tracks Still & True and Let Me Down.
God, this is so boring. I need more Planes mistaken for stars.
