I haven’t been very interested in getting a TD4 Avante because I’m not a fan of how it looks…until I saw this video. I’m a huge Avante /2001 AV fan, I own all the first versions including the Vajra. I’m now going to do this one solely because of the reviverc v2 body. Thanks Glenn for the video and thanks to Owen!

Since seeing the concept images on Instagram I've been looking forward to this one, Owen has knocked it out of the park! Also now having seen this video, I can see that the Avante 2001 decals fit this shell much better than they did on my original TD4 body. Owen take my money!

I bought two of these bodies because of how beautifully done they are. Owen unironically made kne of the best looking RC bodies on the market. The funny thing is, I dont even own a TD4.. yet.

That made it look fantastic. I personally have no love at all for the TD4 and doubt I will ever get one but that body truly made it look like it belongs in a heritage line from Tamiya. I know Tamiya has always done their own thing and there are dozens and dozens of designs over the years that were either a love it or hate it thing but I found nothing in this buggy that got me excited. But after seeing that body on there I could see that sitting on my wall at some point! Owen did a fantastic job and took an ugly duckling and made it better and then made it a ton better!!!

That’s looking great. Love the new body, colour & decals. I would have had 2021 on the wing though. I have yellow dish wheels on my first Avante 2001 & think they blend in great with the decals. Well done Owen.

WOW!!! Luv the V2 body design SOOOOOOO much, I've already shot an email to Owen. Plan on purchasing at least one (probably two) body set(s), but have to wait for his reply. I'll still keep my Tamiya body, if only because I did a completely wild Toyota Racing design on it (Glenn, I'd email you a photo, if you wanted to show it in one of your upcoming videos)...but, for actual use of my TD4, the 'plan' is to run it only with Owen's TD4 V2 body. 👍🏼👍🏼 🤙🏼

Wow what a difference. This new shell makes the old one look even worse than it was. So many people tried to improve the original - like trying to polish a turd.
If I had a TD4 I would definitely get it, also to support the guy and his amazing efforts producing these bodies.

By far the best looking TD4 I’ve seen , and I think it’s the choice of decals that puts it over the top. I wasn’t planning on doing anything else for mine but I might try to recreate your buggy Glen . I already have the Egress wheels on it so it shouldn’t be too hard .

Another great build dude! That revive rc body is awesome, Owen did a banger job on that one. While I do kind of like the td4 body (also what you did with it) it didn't scream Avante and the td4 was not on my radar to get. That body is so good I am considering now to get a td4 at some point.

That body is a lovely bit of work. Good on Owen. The Original shell is pants.I actually like the TD4 chassis without the original shell. Much the same with the TD2

Glen, up until this point I was never going to buy TD4, just not my thing, the body didnt work for me. I was really impressed with the chassis, as it was super cool and cutting edge, just like the original, but could not get over the look. Just look like Tamiya through a bad shell on a great car and tried to use the Avante name to sell it. NOW it looks proper, well done my friend, I am going to invest and purchase one, and pardon me but I will be stealing your ideas for the body (incredible work by Revive RC) and stickers. Looks incredible, and as you said in the title, this is how the TD4 should have looked out of the gate. Well done Glen, well done, love your vision.

I’m glad to have bought both TD4 body sets, Revive deserve to turn a reward for those. This body set definitely needs slippery not spoked wheels, and the yellow of this wheel additions kick off with the rest of the shell perfectly. Still not a fan of that front wing though lol
Call me crazy, but as banging as the finished thing looks, I think it looked pretty impressive painted but sans decals, maybe as it shows off the stunning lines more without decals all over it. Great job though, can’t wait to get my TD4 built so I can get both body sets on.
Well done Glenn you did an amazing job, the one thing that I did not like was the tamiya sticker on the 2001 on the wing, for me it just doesn't work. Awesome job mate 👍

I like this shell so much I just ordered one. Only one small problem, I don't have a TD4 chassis. Maybe I can persuade it to fit a CAT 2000.🤔

This body set could transform the TD4 popularity! Must say l like it without the extras though sorry Glenn! I love the fact tamiya did the TD4 super Avante it was bold and brave and brand new and I do like it even in the boxart but seeing this one of yours Glenn makes me think how much of a best seller tamiya could of had on their hands!
The only thing on yours mate I would like to see a little yellow super sticker just above the main Avante decal just pronounce what it is!

Ps-16 and Ps-59 are such beautiful tamiya colours. This shell looks more slender, original is a bit bulky isn’t it.

Definitely an improvement on the original Tamiya TD4/TD2 bodyshell, I totally agree with you that for Tamiya to use such iconic names as Avante and Astute that they should have made them atleast resemble the originals in some form.

Well, there was not a chance i would buy the TD4 with the kit bodyset, but now with this body i am pretty sure i will now build one. It looks perfect with the black wheels. Tamiya should back this body design as they are more likely to shift more TD4 kits.

@@TAMIYALegends might be worth a try to see if tamiya formula 1 wheels fit on the super avante wheel carriers.
First you are praising it from all sides, but then you see, the canopy is too small. Masking it off slightly wider and also surrounding it with a light stripe, as you did, helped. Though the body is snugly fitting around the chassis, the panels left and right of the canopy are rather wide, especially in comparison to it. Tamiya's designer was desperate enough to add some more windows to break it up into smaller pieces.
If it should resemble the og Avanti, the typical circle-shaped flat section should be part of the canopy here too.
The body looks tight. But this is, what my little design revisions would be.
I very much like the front spoiler, you added to your TD2.

How do you fix your paint leaks, please?
On something like this the fresh paint usually just lift’s off with a sharp blade. If not them Tamiya polycarbonate cleaner does the job 😅
