Dragoons naturally have the advantage. Only a limited number of zealots can attack at a time since they're all melee units and some are stuck waiting for others to die,or move farther away and be isolated, in order to attack. Dragoons meanwhile can shoot over each other and deliver more overall damage as they're being thinned out. I'd like to see if the results would be different if they attacked in a line so the Dragoons can't hide behind each other.
Dragoons also only do 9.5 damage per hit due to Zealot armor and armor type. They do the full 20 vs shields. So the Zealots still have some advantages when it comes to raw dps.
That full damage versus shields is why dragoons scale better with upgrades. Zealots are hitting for exactly the same in 3-3 vs 3-3 while dragoons do +3 damage against the zealot shields.
@@ivannechkin3665 No actually, zealots always do 16 and +2 per upgrade. Your thinking starcraft 2 where zealots do two separate 8 damage hits. SC1 its a single hit, just looks like two.
Something people might have missed. Upgrade benefits Dragoon more. Zealot attacks twice per sequence, each deals 8 dmg. Normally, Zealot does 8 x2 to shield and Dragoon does 20. At 3/3/3, Zealot does (11-3) x2 dmg to shield, or 16 dmg, while Dragoon does 26-3 = 23 to shield. Having upgrade also improves Dragoon dmg. Zealot will always deal 14 dmg to Dragoon Health when their upgrades match but Dragoon will deal more dmg to Zealot as Upgrades increase from 9.5 to 11 per attack.
I love these. I have a question: Wouldn't it be more understandable to say "No unit abilities" instead of "No Unite Upgrades" on Units that have 3-3+? Great content ^^
Zealots do 14 damage to the dragoon health and 16 to shields in equal upgrades. Dragoons do 20- 23 shield damage per hit and 9.5-11 to health depending on upgrades So upgrades benefit dragoons.
Well... of course even numbers benefit the dragoons, give it that in gameplay, the 25 mineral and 50 gas extra that takes to build ony, not to mention the extra population makes it that there should be at least 2 zealots for each Dragoon.
Sorry but this engine is worse then sc1 normal A I. The zealots are literally wondering around to all shoot the range unit that is situated the in the back. If you use attack command like 2-3 times that would change completely the situation. If you use attack command on the back of the enemy units it’s even better. But this is crap. far away from any real scenario in the game. And this is not the first time. Is actually always happening on this channel.
I love this channel!!

I imagine the zealots would win because in 1v1 the zealot wins
Upgraded dragoons win because zealot attack damage is split in two halves, so armor blocks double the amount of dmg

Zealots: my life for Aiur
Dragoon: i have returned

me to zealots as i watched the zealos be massacred:..."my life for Aiur" indeed.

Despite being meme units, dragoons are quite good
Man, if the dragoons had a couple zealots with them, this would have been completely one sided. Still kinda was but yeah
Should've done one with micro simulation too

Dragoons do less than half of damage to zealots. Outside shields. Because zealots are light units.
@@mariusmihai1292 yes that's what I Said. At 0/0 they do (20-1)/2. At 3/3 they do (26-4)/2.
on sc1's release, zlots had 80hp 80 shields instead of 60/100. The dragoon would have won the 1v1
My life for Aiur vs I have returned!
Next fenix zealot vs fenix dragoon

I’m honestly surprised dragoons are so effective against zealots, with their explosive damage penalty
They are not. This engine is worse than usual players on sc1.
Change the target they all want to attack the same unit etc.
That is a Lot of damage!!! Im surprised

Extra population? Dragoons ando zealots cost exactly they same concerning food population.
