Regarding that last story: It's tricky. You gotta know the law where you live, and maybe even whether there's a local prosecutor with an agenda. I've had two situations where I made the choice to intervene. Both situations were defused without any violence and both turned into relatively small matters. In both cases I was ready to step in because I had a connection to the people involved.
One in particular I was working on computers at a customer's office, when a man walked in off the street and started threatening the secretary (while my wife was sitting in the lobby waiting on me, btw). The office manager came around one corner and I came around the other, both of us loaded for bear. Mr tough guy decided he better quit making threats, and start getting out of there.
My guiding principle in whether to step in is a simple test: Am I willing to go to jail to stop whatever is happening? I'm gonna do my best to stay within the law, but taking drastic action carries that wort of weight, and it's a real possibility. It puts random dumb stuff in perspective.

SO WELL SAID, Mr Jonathan. THANK YOU for this and for watching. I honestly can't say I ever "thought" when I saw something. Even for a millisecond. Not back then. Now I think, "I'll probably get screwed for trying to help." 🤦🏾‍♂️
