- In this edition of How to Yard we come across a mint 2002 Acura RSX Type S. This is the exact platform most K series builders start from. The car is in great condition but that doesn't mean the parts are any good, we take the chance.

I like the way you take care to remove the parts that some one else might need. I also do that when out in the yards
Why would anyone junk a perfectly nice running K20 or k24 wtf is wrong with people, don't they know these motors are the premium inline 4 cylinder engine's of the century.
They prefer direct injection engines that can blow at any time.
The transmission or clutch was probably bad, no one sane would sell a car that's worth an easy $4-5K to a junkyard for $300. We don't know for sure that the engine is good either.

@@FuKkAbitchAsz187this. I had a buddy scrap an 01 prelude in perfect working condition because the dealer wanted $2k to replace his pcv system which was throwing a cel. He needed a car that passed emissions and inspection.

I remember the junkyard days before they listed cars on a the site or app. It was always a a great feeling when you scored. You didn’t know what you were gonna find that day

8:55 you dont need to remove the whole front end to drop the subframe. The front and rear motor mounts are easy access underneath the car. Just do those two mounts, tie rods, and four 17mm lower subframe bolts, remove or cut brake lines and abs sensors. Disconnect exhaust from subframe on some by cutting the rubber hangar. Then remove strut nuts and the whole subframe bs will come straight down to the ground lol. Removed my swap out of an 05 type s a few weeks ago in 40 minutes.

You forgot the steering wheel, if it's original and not worn out that is. People like to install those in old Hondas
Honrarri 9K RPM EKs are straight swap, EGs have different spline, it is more work

David Font I found out that it’s mostly being in the right place at the right time. I do this daily and I have the Capital to cover all the purchases when they come up. Some days it’s a few thousand.
It's really hard to find them in Idaho mostly the crappy honda accords not many RSX or TSX here unfortunately
frgottenfrshness same here in central Florida a lot of accords and crappy d16y7 civics. When something good comes in it’s already been picked through by the employees.

Robert, thanks so much for these videos and the great content! I'm getting prepped to pull a K20A2 out of an RSX soon for an EF8 swap. QUESTION: would it be a good idea to keep the hubs from the RSX to put on my EF? Hope you can shed some light and advice.
Garett Malate no it would work like that. You can use the RSX Type S if you use Karcept 36mm hubs with Hasport Axles.
@@hush22performance1 thanks or the quick reply! One last question for now, can I just use the RSX axles then and pair them with my current stock CRX hubs? Or are Hasport axles ultimately the way to go to work with my stock CRX hubs?

Go to a junkyard and just start wrenching on shit, most Honda’s of the same generation you notice have the same trends. They’re easier than you think.

88r3ckless I was told that the yards there has what is called an exporter. The exporter buys all the racks and pinons for what I believe is a business that rebuilds and resells

If you are talking about the complete car in the junk yard even if it was in perfect condition they usually don't sell it complete due to either not having the title or the process of transferring them.
