I LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, O MY HOLY FATHER GOD WITH ALL MY HEART, AND WITH ALL MY SOUL, AND WITH ALL MY MIND, AND WITH ALL MY STRENGTH. AND I LOVE MY NEIGHBOR AS MYSELF. I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU FIRST LOVED ME. 1 JOHN 4:19. THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR LOVING ME, THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR SAVING ME, HAIL JESUS!!!!!!! JESUS REIGNS FOREVER MORE, CELEBRATE AND GLORIFY JESUS EVERY DAY AND FOREVER MORE, HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! AMEN.
"We stood beneath a debt we could never afford", that line is so powerful. Imagine someone owing you uncountable amounts of money and instead of rightfully punishing him you forgive him. Not only do you forgive him you paid all his debt in full. That is God. Praise God, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.
To give credit where its due, the melody appears to be a traditional Scottish tune called "An t-aparan goirid". See ruclips.net/video/2AutaZI2mpo/видео.html
1. And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2. in which you once walked, ... 4. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5. even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you have been saved- Ephesians 2: 1,2,4,5p Amen! Thank you Lord!
Cool point. Lyrically, I consider this a "real christian song", because Matt Papa decided to include a mention for this part of the biblical gospel: sin (we are sinners, and our sin against God is serious, and needed a Saviour to sacrifice himself in our place). Most songs these days omit the s-i-n word, possibly due to Satan's subtle intimidation. Satan knows that this will lead to less sinners repenting and crying out in gratefulness to accept Jesus as their Saviour. What do you think?
Beautiful and true song. This song talks about LORD JESUS CHRIST, Lord of Lords and King of Kings, who died for our sins, thereby giving us the gift of forgiveness by HIS mercy and grace. By HIS grace alone, through faith in HIM alone, and by CHRIST alone, we are saved from eternal punishment for our sins. HIS sacrifice on the cross helps us to conform to HIS image day by day and be sanctified, which helps us to keep our body and soul pure and holy. PRAY ONLY TO JESUS CHRIST. JESUS CHRIST is the only one who could ever save.
Matt Papa influenced me hugely, because as you say, he stands out. Why do you think he does? I reckon he is Ernest, honest, includes challenging truths (not just popular easy bits).
@@mikem9001 no way. I am unsure whether to trust older Celtic stuff. I am from wales, and lots of welsh church history was entangled with idol druid worship Repentance of 1904 seemed genuine though We could do with some of that
I think this is my favorite rendition, because of the structure. It’s like after meditating on the goodness of God in the first 3 verses, you have a selah moment in the instrumental, and then the chorus of praise arises organically and bursts out at the end and you’re ready for it!
This could be the theme song for my life! Praise God for His mercies which are new every morning...even every moment, when we come humbly before His throne of mercy in our time of need!!🙌
Praise the Lord! This is a beautifully well-written song! Thank you Matt Papa and Matt Boswell for these lyrics! I have introduced this song to my church's repertoire after hearing it led at the Theology and Doxology conference last fall in Louisville KY. It is now one of their favorites! I aspire to write music as powerful as yours one day!
No truth no power U agree? Down with Bethel I can rephrase that to make my point more clear: a dishonest deliberately misleading version of gospel truth is powerless (leaving out doctrine of sin)
What love could remember no wrongs we have done Omniscient, all knowing, He counts not their sum Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore Our sins they are many, His mercy is more Praise the Lord, His mercy is more Stronger than darkness, new every morn Our sins they are many, His mercy is more What patience would wait as we constantly roam What Father, so tender, is calling us home He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor Our sins they are many, His mercy is more Praise the Lord, His mercy is more Stronger than darkness, new every morn Our sins they are many, His mercy is more So much more What riches of kindness He lavished on us His blood was the payment, His life was the cost We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford Our sins they are many, His mercy is more So much more! Praise the Lord, His mercy is more Stronger than darkness, new every morn Our sins they are many, His mercy is more Praise the Lord, His mercy is more Stronger than darkness, new every morn Our sins they are many, His mercy is more Praise the Lord, His mercy is more Stronger than darkness, new every morn Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

I am so glad to hear a real song, without 7-11 (seven verses, eleven times) mentality. Praise the Lord for this author and singer!
Cool point.

Dont often hear the word "sanctified".
This is such lovely music, I didn't think they wrote like this anymore. Wow, what a gem.
Matt Papa was just at a Leadership summit with Keith & Kristyn Getty who have beautiful hymns and will introduce you to many others. Hope this helps.

I am not a big fan of conferences to be honest.

Humble but happy
Unworthy but accepted
Sinner but His child
I keep telling people - this is the true version of this song.
Its got the best intro (instrumental).
Thank you for this song, it's such a blessing to listen to.

If you really really really wanted to hurt your brothers and sisters.

Thank you Christ Jesus has set us free from all sins. Great is His Faithfulness and Mercy. Jesus blood has cleansed all my sin and shame.

Wow, nearly 700 videos mate! I wish I spoke German!
I was born and baptized that way. Because Andrew is also in the Bible (Peter's brother), I was drawn to the biblical story even as a child.
