Østmarka Traverse

The Østmarka traverse is a canoe route that starts at Losby and ends at Bysetermåsan. It is a great way to experience Østmarka Nature Reserve and it takes you through the lakes Mønevann, Fløyta, Geitsjøen, Røyrivann, Nordre Krokvannet, Tappenbergvann, Midtre Krokvann, Søndre Krokvann, Grinderen and Børtervanna. On the map, this route is only about 20 kilometers, but due to stretches that needs carrying with several turns, we ended up with more than 30 kilometers. Most of the transport sections is on rugged paths through forests. We spent 3 days (2 nights), but you can easily spend several days as there are many beautiful lakes on the route, and lots to explore and experience. In the movie, I share tips about the transport sections, where you should go in and out of the lakes, where it is suitable to set up tents and about the route in general.
