I have UBUNTU SERVER 12.04LTS installed but enabled the desktop which enabled the themes and enjoyed using it now I am running Linux Mint 17.3 (Rosa) 64bit, I think the server is using Unity not sure but later version might well use Gnome.
There is a source code directory which means that patching buggy code is a possibility.

If you hit F4 you can Choose to install a VM Basic version of Ubuntu with just the Drivers for Hyper-V / Esxi...
Also Running Hyper-V on a Domain Controller is naughty ;-) ... Did you change any settings to Enable Write Cacheing on the HDD.. as a DC Automaticky Disables Write Caching etc.
Also Running 2016 + Hyper-V myself. running Windows 2016 Data Center on my HP DL380G7...

Other question is protection. Is there firewalls and viruses scanners we can use on this for the sites and files?

Schade alles in Englisch und wieder viel zu schnell, da nicht jeder englisch kann und ich hasse eigentlich Englisch. Vielleicht mal was langsamer das ganze aufzusetzen. Ansonsten bestimmt Interessant da ich so wie du denkst. Und wieso benutzt du zu Hause kein Linux und so ein scheiß Windows? Da solltest du selbst genauso mal nachrüsten.
