I bought the cube myself, but it was a special bundle. Most likely, if you buy it now, you won’t get the mat. They do sell it separately though, I’m pretty sure… Hope this helps!
Having 4 holes on the yellow cap is a step backward. Not being able to turn off the flashing is another turn-off. Then there's that price... Hmmm. TBNT
The thing I'm concerned with is the lack of edge magnets, does it actually make a difference or were the 13's edge magnets superficial to the corner magnets in this 12 variant?
I have the gan 12 ui and the 13, and I would say the edge magnets would just give the magnetic feel, and the 12 would feel more hollow inside. But both are stil good
Hey, does it actually have the words "Freeplay" anywhere on the box or in the contents? I'm asking because the Gan 12 UI box looks almost exactly similar so I'm worried sellers might ship the wrong item.
Any idea when will this cube be available on popular cubing stores like SCS/Cubicle? Because it's also not yet available in my country's biggest cube store and it looks like Gan doesn't ship to my country (probably some political issues between the two nations)
@@TheSuperflip I think I saw it on cubicle today.. And I had emailed SCS and their response was that Gan was fixing some bugs before they release the cube in US. Since it's on cubicle I'm guessing their bug testing must've been over by now so it should be available on SCS shortly as well..
There's an app out there called Vysor that will mirror your phone onto your computer. They have a MAC version of it but have no experience at all with it but may be worth checking out. I did a video walkthrough of it on my PC. Been great since it's so much easier to see on a monitor.
@@TheSuperflip does it really get over 10h on a single charge? The language on the marketing material is a bit muddy and it's not entirely clear if it's 15 hours total after charging it many times over with the powerpod or if it's 15 hours with just the charge in the cube itself.
@@gcolombelli Yes! The battery life is crazy on this cube, and you hardly ever have to charge it. I’m pretty sure the estimates are correct, and if you don’t use it, it hardly drains.

Not too sure about the box, but if you connect it to CubeStation, it should show “FreePlay” :)

i can't find a way to install cube station on macOS .. just the phone or tablet option. May you help maybe?
You need macOS 11.0 and above, with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, etc...) If you meet those criterion, then it should be in the app store :)

What’s the difference betweens gan12 ui and gan12 ui free play?
You get 15 hours of use between charges on UI Freeplay, I think ~2.5h on standard UI
