Theory: the man kidnapped the five children because he couldn’t have a child of his own, then one day people started getting suspicious, so he killed the five children, regretting this decision, he tries to **put them back together** by stitching them together, the police catch on and knock on his door, only to see a distraught man and the five children they had been looking for, only to see a horrible amalgamate. Yes this could be a reference to henry taking the five remaining animatronics (the afton family, nothing is confirmed take it with a grain of salt), but if look at it in this light it connects a-lot more to William kidnapping or taking children for his robot experiments and then killing them afterward, creating these gross amagalmates (animatronics) or the five children reference his own kids (kinda) crying child,masked boy, elizabeth and Michael. Probably not tho because of the 5, so maybe the original five murdered children.
