I whistle this in public sometimes. People stare at me like I'm a nutcase. Can't help it, I played the euphonium in bands and orchestras all over the u.s. for 17 years and Souza marches have burrowed so deeply into the crevasses in my brain that they have become earworms. Pity me, o fans of band music, Souza wrote 138 marches...

We played this piece in my high school concert band. Funny thing is, we played it in a different key! I tried to play along but found that it sounded really weird
This song came on in the background as I was cleaning my Argentine 1891 Mauser and the Argentine acceptance mark of two clasping hands seems fitting to go along with this song.
Ukraїnian congratulations to the whole planet) You can treat the USA differently ... but Souza is really a strong composer in his profile. One of his best marches the planet has received.

1:10 We're joining hands in harmony, They're joining hands with you and me, We're joining hands to come together Here in friendship now and ever, Joining hands across the sea!
Worst nightmare, regarding learning it, but I was so surprised I remembered every note just "vocalizing" or ("tongueing" in that case with some vocals) to it. I didn't hear it in like 3-5 years now. I'm literally still off-book! Might have to take a few runs on my Euphonium with the finger technique, but I'm sure I can nail it again.

As a fellow Euph player, I love this song. I played it in my junior year of high school and I loved this.

Love and light to all.
There is a minimum volume level for Sousa's marches.
I'm gonna need about three more fortes
those are rookie numbers
Nah, The President’s Own paves the way for how these marches should be played
No, there isn't.
Ya'll need a tuba that goes to eleven.
I really like this, I listen to it over and over again

In light of what's going on, it should be titled "Elbow Bumps Across the Sea."

@@JustANervousWreck welcome :)
Probably my favorite Sousa march, but yet again, all of them are great! But this one, in my opinion, has the best piccolo obbligato.

my fav song by Sousa ever :D
bro sousa said lets make this piece slap
Apparently when this piece was first composed the audience demanded they play it another three times.
just wrote an essay on this. feeling good
