Skipping ahead while Tim was gone was gold
Literally the reason I watched the vid haha! I already listened to it in podcast form but needed a visual
Tim said this is as good as Bridesmaids?!!!!? You need to watch Bridesmaids again.
I don’t even dislike this movie, I kind of agree with Andy. And it’s hard for me to want to criticize it because of how bad the internet backlash was. But man, Bridesmaids is a top tier comedy and this isn’t even close to that quality.
Bridesmaids is sooo good. It gets a little long in the tooth at times, but it's so heartfelt, the people are real people, and it's got some fucking funny ass moments.
Tim also thinks F&F is top-tier stuff.
It's a fair comparison, both are bad comedy movies.
Just got to "Grading Ghosts." Holy shit. 😂🤣😂🤣😂
nick nailed it, this thing feels like it couldve just been an SNL skit
#1 Ghostbusters 2016 apologist Tim Gettys
I knew it
What isn't he an apologist for.
@@Nightswatch943 your mom
58:38 damn, made me laugh harder than the movie did 😂
I wanted Greg to finish his Pringle "once you pop you can't stop" line SO BADLY lol
I feel like Tim just automatically enjoys newer movies than he does older movies. It's a very noticeable pattern.
You could also say he just doesn’t have nostalgia glasses. Universal agreement is boring anyway. Not that I agree with him on this one.
i think there are some old movies that rely more strongly on nostalgia for enjoyment(like ghostbusters) and then there's stuff like Back to the Future which holds up a bit better
@@pargatsinghlives 100% agree with your statement. Ghostbusters has a somewhat similar "classic" status to something like Back to the Future, but the quality level is noticeably very different.
I really wish they would have moved this movie to Chicago. This movie was so head strong to undue the past instead of just going to another city and making a fresh story.
i saw Gen walk by in the background and i thought "is Gen pregnant again???" and then i remembered that this is prerecorded.
He's just that good!
1) Ghostbusters (1984)
2) Ghostbusters Afterlife (2021)
3) Ghostbusters II (1989)
4) Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009)
5) Ghostbusters: Answer The Call (2016)
Nicks analogy of an all star game is so perfect.
This movie feels like nothing. It feels like lets just get all these amazing people together and put a known title on the movie, but nobody ever thinks to write the script before hand.
Also, wanting to watch this over either the original Ghostbusters is kind of crazy talk. Idk what Tim is on there.
Edit: It's also super disappointing because I love almost everyone in this movie. Kristen Wiig is one of the funniest people ever, and Melissa McCarthy is just a treasure. Leslie Jones is also amazing, and this is likely the single chance she will get as an older, non-white, female actor to have such a large role. Which fucking sucks.
59:20 you KNOW someone's being silly when Nick throws out his chuckle. It's earned, and not easily. He is the Batman to Greg's Joker.
Nick is 100% on point at 27:00 Well said, sir
Tim would rather watch this than the original movies?... Are you serious?
I remember when Tim said this is the best a modern Ghostbusters movie can be. Cant wait to see what he thinks of afterlife
Lols, I hope that’s not true
@@bennetthasty7886 yea in their original reaction lol
You guys should do Shrek and Pirates of the Caribbean in review one day. Would love to see your thoughts and opinions on those.
Nick rocking that Santa beard and looking great.
I think it’s telling that this reboot isn’t considered canon anymore, but Ghostbusters : The Video Game is. And honestly, the video game definitely deserves it more. To the point where I wish they would’ve included the video game in this series, even if I understand why they didn’t.
Just here for Andy’s plot song
16:49 What the Actual F*ck???
Regarding the GoPro and tripod thing, they absolutely won't let you do that with a brand new movie regardless of renting the theater out or not due to piracy issues. It's too much of a risk for the theater to lose their contract with the studio.
Tim "I'd rather watch this than Ghostbusters 2, maybe even 1" Kevin's face speaks for the rest of humanity. Tim, you are clueless
Nick watched Heat AGAIN on Saturday 😂
Commenting before watching. Don’t care what happens. Give me that sweet Greg Miller content.
1:53:33 Andy and Nick got me!… hahaha!!! This is legit one of the best in reviews though!
What do you call a Comedy you never laugh at once but cringe at several times? Ghostbusters 2016
I definitely cringed a few times but it's nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Do yourself a favor and don't watch any of the Dumb and Dumber sequels or Pixels or Chips. Those movies made me wish I was dead.
@@CrowTRobot will do thanks for the advice 😊
I remember being 15 minutes into it and realizing that it's been mostly poop and fart jokes
"Bustin' makes you feel good!" Not in this film, thank god you guys skipped ahead.
Getting to this late but very surprised hearing Tim of all people say the VFX looks good since I thought they looked awful. Those smokey green screen shots looked so bad to me
Awful film. I still find it hard to believe that it got greenlit for production.
You guys should review the Ghostbusters video game, which we all know is the 3rd movie and has the original cast.
And is way better than this movie
Are you guys going to do these shows in person ever again?
The studio has been postponed until 2023.
They are COVID cultists
@@CheefChaos fr?
Tim thinking this is better than Ghostbusters 2 surely has to be considered gross misconduct? Absolute madness
I fully blame the execs not the director. Who in their right mind watched Bridesmaid and decided that was a good fit for Ghostbusters. I think Mattthew Vaughn would have been a perfect director. Understands the balance between comedy and serious badassary. It's like Joel Schumacher, he was brought in to make a kid friendly Batman so they could sell toys. Even though Tim Burton created the perfect batman. Some exec just thought he knew what people wanted and he didn't have a clue.
There's not enough talk in here about what happened to everyone's faces when Andy said step dad.
I rank it 12th place in Ghostbusters list of movies 🎥 🍿
How has there not been a John Hughes in review yet? Come on Nick, I know you want to do it
The power of Patty compels me to not watch this movie ever again
🤣🤣🤣 this is great! I’m 100% with Kev, and Nick’s point that this is just a film to sell toys is dead on.
I already started crying for ghostbusters afterlife when they started shamelessly pawning NFT's on social media
I'm not just trying to b a hater but this movie didn't make me laugh once. The humor was cringe.
I went back and watcged ghost grading part 3 times on this
"There was once an old house, and in that house lived an old gay man. And his name was Slimer."
"Why did they call him Slimer?"
"Well, if you recall, in the movie Ghostbusters, the character of Slimer was known for being able to to fit multiple, shall we say, 'hotdogs' in his mouth."
Could you imagine if Bill Hader got to be a Ghostbuster?
Watch redlettermedia’s review. It makes you see how disjointed and messy the movie is.
Sleep deprived Greg might be my new favourite Greg
Greg wearing the black ghostbusters shirt for this review is so fitting lol 😆
He's a Ghostbusters fan in mourning. I assume that he wears that to wakes and funerals.
Your original review of this film was 49 minutes 😂
rubbish movie, great in review. how about Leslie Nielsen in review? dracula dead and loving it.
Spy Hard too lol
(15:09) Disagree. For example the dance scene in Jim Carry's The Mask (1994) is hilarious.
Kate McKinnon is my favorite person, I'll watch her in anything. Her role in this was great to me lol I needed her in it more if I'm being honest; I'm just weird.
Kate McKinnon is great in everything she does. But even she couldn't save this.
Can't wait for Fantastic Beasts for Professor Mcgongal to return
Not really hyped for the new Ghostbusters but I'm loving these Ghostbuster movies in review!
Never has a movie been so full of funny people while also being so painfully unfunny I couldn’t finish it. This movie is a product plain and simple. It exists to show you pringles and papa johns.
I’m in tears at around the hour mark
Right with Kevin. Great cast, horrible script, wasted cameos and call backs in a throw away story. Expecting folks to hang on for a 2 1/4 hour review of this one is cute.
You don’t know the KF Best Friends if you think they aren’t watching this whole review
“Expecting folks to hang on for a 2 1/4 hour review of this one is cute” ew lmfao. You could’ve easily not included this part. If you don’t want to watch it, don’t watch it. I just sounds like you’re criticizing the crew’s content instead of the actual film.
I like that they skipped a part of the movie and still managed to go for over 2 hours
I had such high hopes for this movie bc the cast was a good pick for a female reboot but geez this movie sucked
U guys have to put a paranthesis around the 2016 in the title
Is it ABC or 123?
Do-Re-Mi
Sorry boys best cameo ever is Depp in 21 jump street
Slimer Kevin MVP
Would of loved to watch the movie that Kate McKinnon thought she was in.
So they are really not gonna watch Casper?
Another hilarious Zach Woods throwback:
ruclips.net/video/LdUSpiC8MsU/видео.html
I really wanted to love this, I thought a female cast was a good spin, and a great cast that I have enjoyed in other films....but what a flat dud....just no spark and painfully unfunny. Ch was great though :D
It's Zach Woods you fools
Honestly I absolutely despised this movie when it released and revisited it for the first time since the theaters for this in-review and completely 180ed. I honestly really like this movie now and a lot of it works for me as a “Ghost Head”. A lot of strange and bad decisions for sure, but I had a pretty fun time with it anyway and got some genuine Ghostbusters moments from it.
The problem is that this movie leans way too hard into slapstick and cheesy comedy. I love those elements, when utilized properly, but it's shoehorned in way too much to the point where it's annoying.
I’ve never seen a movie that gets as much undeserved hate as this movie. It’s really not bad at all. The worst part is that there are a handful of jokes and gags that go on for just a bit too long. That and how does Slimer drive the car without having feet?
I'm with Kevin this movie is terrible. I was never going to like a Feig/McCarthy attempt though as even thier well regarded stuff is unwatchable to me.
This movie was not terrible. It just wasn't fun.
Your movie/tv discussions are always great. I would love it if you guys could review more tv show episodes.
Squid Game
Succession
Midnight Mass
Invasion
Foundation
The Shrink Next Door with Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd which just started
I was blown away by how much I hated this film. Probably the worst film I watched all year. Incompetently made, unfunny, bad audio mix, unnecessary/egregious callbacks, and plot holes big enough to drive a convoy though. Paul Feig is more than competent as a comedy director, what happened here.
Nick and Andy nailed it. "This movie isn't nearly as bad as people say it is, but it's just barely less than OK". Much like Kate McKinnon's character, the script and the editing can't decide what direction to take the movie in. And Nick is right, the jokes go on way too long. The middle finger scene is a perfect example.
SLIMER KEVIN 😭🤢😱
So did Sony fuck this movie?
Not so yeah... You guys basically said everything I thought of. Just a disappointment.
Only saw this film the once, but I remember enjoying it well enough.
Throwing all of the "opinions" about this film when it came out aside....I just thought this film felt soulless, no heart, and was just not funny.
This movie is a discgrace to the Ghostbusters IP.
The newer movie isn’t going to feel like Ghostbusters either. You are going to have to get over that.
Oof
Tim is so set on being PC, that he actually just said he'd watch this movie over the two original Ghostbusters movies. It honestly just kills the idea of a review show for me if you can't look at a movie objectively without having to make sure you've got your PC goggles on.
I mean if you've watched the other in reviews he is kinda whatever on Ghostbusters. I grew up on these movies and don't mind this movie at all
Tim always seems to prefer newer movies to old. He was the same with Space Jam, Spiderman, etc. Dunno what it is, but at least he's consistent about it.
Hes not being PC, he just prefers modern movies
That’s Tim. I literally clicked on this video knowing Tim would go SJW and defend the 2016 version
@@WaffleOnTheRun because they are woke and politically correct
This movie sucks. Only laughed once and it was Ozzy Osborne . When the actual comedians aren’t funny in your movie and a cameo is you got a fucking problem
Does Greg really think Tim would make him go back and recap the 20 minutes he skipped?
You guys should watch the video: The unexplored depths of Spider-Man 3: Facing the Dragon of grandiosity.
I'd love to see your guys reactions. Lol. Idk why but it made me appreciate the movie a lot more
When predicting a critic's rating, are we taking into account what kind of critic are we looking at? Are we looking at the 'Access Media' critic, the woke SJW critic? The real down-to-earth critic with no ties to major woke publications will give Afterlife a high rating. The woke critics will still be asking when the 2016 movie is getting a sequel and calling fans of Afterlife all the ist, ism, and phobes under the sun. I'm more interested in the audience score if we're in Rotten Tomatoes territory.
Holtzmann was the only good part of this movie.
This is Chris Hemsworth erasure, and I won't stand for it.
I remember enjoying this movie just fine but then again I've only seen this once 5 years ago in the theater. Might have to give it a rewatch before Afterlife
I loved this movie. I don't love this movie as a follow-up to Ghostbusters, movies which I've watched dozens of times, but I was laughing through most of it and never understood the extreme hate for it. It's good for what it is.
Bring Colin M back
Nah
First? Idk if that's still a thing
