Just finished a build for my Dad about 2 weeks ago with one. Easy to build on, kind of weird that the middle of the grip was almost skinnier than the blank. Added the aluminum winding check. Feels good, not my particular style, but Dad loves it. Great video - I'm sure this is goin to get lots of hits for folks wanting install instructions, thanks!
Recently everwhere was out of the quick bond. I picked up the new g4 15 minute. They mean 15 minute. It is very firm (and hot) in 15 minutes and rock solid in 20
I never miss your videos, I have learned a lot. Thank you! Question…where can I buy the front thread carriage with tensioner that you use. I can only find it as part of the total Alps power wrap package.
Ive been fishing with Falcon rods for the better part of 20 years and been doing my own repairs when it comes to replacing guides or bait keepers but now I'm looking to start making my own rods because I already have all the stuff to do it. MHX seems to come up a lot in forums and on RUclips and even their highest end blank is still cheaper then Falcon's most expensive rods so probably going to order a couple of their blanks do you have any other recommendations in the same price range?? This was a great video man just subbed...
Yes. You can expect to extend the blank by around 6" depending on the OD of the blank. If you start with a 7ft blank and want a 7 ft rod, then you will need to cut the blank.
That's interesting. I've only just started building so those are probably above my price point until I've got more builds under my belt. They look sharp though so I'll be interested to hear how they fish.
I think you’re really going to like that blank. I have a 6’3” Medium version of that blank. Sensitivity is off the chart, and the rod just keeps giving and giving when you get it loaded up.

Thanks for watching Scot!
Thanks for the in-depth information you show and give! The other people I watch don’t do that at all!
Thanks for watching James!
I was wondering if you did a build with this style of grip. Very nice job. Very easy to follow.
Thanks Bob!
Have two in my cart right now!
Good luck with your builds!

I'll have to try it.

I am building on now. How does yours fish?
I love it! It feels very natural if that makes any sense.

Thanks, Daniel. Shoot me an email to fdxcustomrods@gmail.com
just got mine last week waiting on a blank to show up
Good luck with the build.
If you cut a blank does it affect the sensitivity
No, not at all.
These handle kits are designed to extend past the rod blank?
Yes. You can expect to extend the blank by around 6" depending on the OD of the blank. If you start with a 7ft blank and want a 7 ft rod, then you will need to cut the blank.

Hey there man can i get a texas rig rod recipe for 3/16 once bullet weight and brush hog full size bait
Anything MH or 5 power should handle that bait.
I lile the looks of carbon handle kits, but they make them too long. Wish they were around 8 inches.
Thanks.
I noticed you are building on MHX now and not NFC is there a reason?😬
I'm just trying new stuff. I was shopping for colored blanks for a charity saltwater build, and I saw this MH EF and wanted to try it.
Hey hey hey I was just wondering if you were alive still ?
Still vertical. I was sick, then vacation, then tropical storm. Hoping to get back on track this weekend.
@@fdxcustomrods I was just reaching out to make sure everything was okay glad to hear you still vertical

Awesome. I still need to finish it.
