I like this a lot. I like scents that are warm and unpretentious for day to day wear and this is one I could wear any time. For me it’s not too simple, it still has some complexity of notes and there’s flair to it but it’s just not being extra. It’s really a perfect casual feminine scent.
I have a vintage bottle of this, it stays very citrusy on my clothes, but on my skin.... Effervescent citrus opening that morphs into peachy floral, and then turns really creamy and rich (the vanilla and white florals together maybe?). After about 4 hours, it becomes more of a soapy skin scent with a lot of sandalwood coming through. I prefer to spray a cloud of this, and walk through it before I dress because it turns so creamy and lovely on my skin. Definitely not as long lasting as the vintage EDP (8+ hours) but I think it's more complex than that one- EDP smells softer, less bright- peach, vanilla, and sandalwood featured way more prominently. I really like both, and look forward to trying a vintage Allure Sensuelle :)
I really dislike the edt but love the edp and Sensuelle! I find that I cant actually smell many notes in the edt, it smells like when perfume has turned on my skin for some reason!
Ami Loves Perfume Sensuelle is one I really want to get to know better, what's it like? Lots of patchouli I hear! I really do go back and forth with Allure. Frustrating! haha. Now Coromandel...whoa..THAT is a Chanel worth talking about. :)
I love this perfume, it is beautiful. It's not for everyone, but I don't care, I love how it makes me feel. I love the dry down. Of all the Chanel perfumes, Allure is my favourite. No19 is my next fave.
A lot of perfumes and deodorants turn "funky" on me. For example I absolutely cannot wear anything Givenchy or Burberry. But Allure by Chanel smells amazing on me! It smells spicier on me than it does on the bottle. The strength increases as I wear it as well. It will forever be my favorite. My husband loves it on me too!
Stephanie Rensland, please hold on to that bottle! I know exactly what you mean. I first smelled it back in 98 and there is a particular note that really attracted me to it. Sadly to this day I don't know what it was. It's no longer in the current formulation. Its removal changes Allure.
yourslavekl would you say it’s the warm citrus note? That’s the difference I get from it. Just recently acquired a 1997 bottle and it is softer but not weak and very warm citrusy compared to newer formula which I find a bit sharper and colder
@@pm83pm92 I don't think it's citrus. I can't tell what it is but it was present in the 1998 batch. Aptly very alluring both on the skin and when you sniffed the nozzle. It's gone now, sadly.
I have been trying to give mine a good home forever but I don't know how to go about it. I have a full perfect condition bottle 35 ml Eau De Toilet in the box. (I love the box gold and pink how can you not ) and the bottle is simple but beautiful. But the smell is a "inside a powdery vintage cosmetic bag" smell. I wanted to like it (The notes suggest I should ) and Therefore have sniffed it many times through the years to see if my taste has changed. Sadly it has not. If you have any advice for me as to how I can give this to someone who would appreciate this ,I would be very thankful :)
Michelle aka constantconnie Oh really? That's a shame you don't like it very much! There are lots of ways you could give it away..the easiest being to a close friend or family member. You could even do a video giveaway on youtube to someone. You could even do a "swap" with someone for something you'd like, they have a swap forum on my perfume community "Fragrantica". Good luck! :)
Hello! I used it in the 90s.. and im pretty sure that something changed on it.. fore me even though i love it i find it a little like for older women jajaja im not that old i was 18 at that Time.. thats why i want to try the sensuelle one..to see if it has that spark that i remember, and also i received many compliments on my nightouts..so people really like it.. thank you😊
Great review! In my opinion the edp is swetter. I have the allure sensuall edp. It's a very special one, but you need the mood for it. Could you, please, review the coco noir and no.5 eau premier? Thank you so much! And dont be afraid to describe perfumes! You describe as you get it and that's the fun. If everyone fell the same about perfumes so we dont need reviews....think about it.:)
Rinat e HellO!! :) Thank you a s always. The sensuelle one I have smelled once before and thought it was cool, I need to smell it again though to remind myself. Unfortunatey I do not have samples of the coco noir or eau premier. :( I would review them for you if I did. boooooooo! :(
My mom had a perfume that smelled just like this (but better) in a green and gold bottle. I wanted Sensuelle but the girl gave me this by accident and they dont accept returns :(
Nice take on this Chanel fragrance. I feel the same way with the men's version sometimes. If I have a hard time deciding what fragrance I want to wear, I'll just throw this on. What do you think of Chanel No. 5? ;-)
Jolly Victorian Chanel No5. Hmm..I respect it for what it is and how successful it still is. It really isn't my style though. There's something about the way it smells when it's when that just feels way to classic and not in a good way. I can appreciate classic fragrances..and vintages but..just not that one. Plus now it's been reformulated..it's even worse.
Yeah, I'm sure it's had some reformulations throughout the years. It's been out since, I think the 1920's! I respect it too since it's a vintage fragrance.
This is my all time favorite perfume. I wear this literally every day.
Allure is my favorite Chanel fragrance. ❤ I don’t find it boring at all.

One of the best perfumes ever made.
I bought this fragrance recently and I love it. And usually I only love clean or fresh fragrances but those are hard to find.
Thanks for sharing!
You are adorable!!! 😂 I absolutely LOVE watching your videos!! Thank you for taking the time to make them ♥️
You are so welcome! Thanks for the comment. :)

I still have my Allure edt bottle I wore in the late 90's. I'm glad I held on to it since they reformulated it.
Would you say it still smells just as when you first got it?

What is the lasting power at the edt? I own Allure edp and I love it! 😊

Yes it went through a reformulation as did lots of fragrances over the past 4 years or so... :( Such a shame.
Thank you !!😊
@@agb534 yep. IFRA regs required it...
LOVE the t-shirt !
Thanks!!! haha I'm a huge Disney fan underneath the veil of fragrance.
I love it because it smells clean
I love it. I had mine since 2014 and use it in May with my YSL Black Opiums.
Combo sounds amazing! Gotta try that. Thanks.

This is is my "beige cashmere sweater" fragrance. Kind of boring, but yes, classy :) It's not a love for me, it's more of a friend zone.
marsies moon Hehe friend zone. Love it!

@@ouch110 THANKS !!
Allure was my signature scent back then in the late 90s. Allure today is just meh imo. I need to look into (smell into? lol) the Sensuelle version.
Sensuelle is gorgeous. :)
@@ouch110 I believe you! I must hunt it down :)))))
Great review! Do you mind also doing a review on allure sensuelle edt?

Just got the edp yesterday ...cant wait to wear it !!!!! I'm sure l will LOVE it as much as my Gucci Rush....(peachy!)
Is this the same one i wore in the 90's?
Is it still in production?
It is yes, but it has gone through a reformulation like most things.
Is this reformulation or pre-formulation bottle?
Reformulation. :)
Great review
Oh, and the vintage formula lasted forever. You need to get your hands on one of the originals!

It's just lovely imo!!!!!! Full stop. ;)
Yep!
