I was born in celle because my dad was in the army and that’s where he and therefore my family were when my mam was pregnant and eventually I was born. We left when I was about 6 months old , I’ve always wanted to go and see the town. I feel this connection to the place because well that’s the place I started my life and I don’t even really know what it looks like. I hope I get to go someday x

My father was in Celle as student exchange participant in 1987 with Family Moort... Hope they are fine, and someday I can be there too....

I was born in Celle, lived in an area called Holzhausen I think its spelled that way. My father is German my mother is English,
We moved to England in 1980 when I was 5 I went back for 6 months in 1988 now I would love to take my wife and son.
    Germany is so beautiful and clean. Lovely video EDIT;
I've now got a yearning to go back to my place of birth after watching this, the only real place I think you missed is the beautiful lake/park in Celle but maybe it was missed is because it's not a building LOL

I remember buying a bottle of Slyrs Single Malt Bavarian Whisky from the Raths-Weinschenke. The lady serving me asked politely, "haben Sie den Preis bemerkt?"
I have been going to Celle since the early 1950s and thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thanks.

I lived in Celle for two years in the late 70s. Beautiful place. I'd love to revisit one day.

Thank you so much for the video. A magnificent, fabulous city. There are many half-timbered houses. It's just a miracle!

I have lived in Celle for years. American friends of mine visited and noted that they had seen this video. So I checked it out. And yes: this is Celle in the film. Very well done!

Celle became my home away from home in Germany. First visit in early 1990’s. Across and down the street from the town hall was an animated display. Saw it only on my first visit, was gone by my second. Too bad. Also Ratzeputz was still made in Celle then.

In 1957 I arrived at RAF Celle and served there until the German Air Force took over in November of that year. Celle was then and still remains an architectural gem. Perhaps one day I will persuade my old bones to pay the town a nostalgic visit.

I am English and lived in Celle for 7 years, it was the best years of my life. Germany is best place to live in my humble opinion. I ashamed of Brexit. I feel more European than English!

Nothing wrong with being English and don't apologize for Brexit, Brexit is not going to make you less "European". I feel German first, then "European". That doesn't mean that I can't like, admire, respect or appreciate other European countries.

Ashamed, FFS of Brexit. Now that is a statement
We voted out and that's the way it is period.
You can be ashamed as much as you like,
But not as ashamed of Bergen Belsen a few miles away. And the celle Hasenjacht Der massaka Von Celle Many people from celle took part
So get off your high horse an stop talking crap.

Celle WAS a nice place in the 70s , that's until they painted it like Disneyland, and closed down the independent shop's and businesses by creating pedestrian only .
We visited not long ago, and were absolutely dismayed. A shame , it can now be classed as a very boring town in Germany. Period

Although many here would not support your view, I must say that Celle struck me the same way even in 1991. Nice but so over-polished as to look totally false and, yes, Disneyland-like! At the time Quedlinburg in the former East Germany had not yet been over-prettified and was a much more interesting sight. No doubt things have changed there too now.
