I like your set up there Jason , I got all my stuff in cardboard boxes and there not reliable for long when they fall apart, you got great ideas with your box there, looks like I’ll be making one like yours, very practical and going to last a life time, awesome video ,thanks for sharing another great video. 👍
A cool video. I'm in the Southern Hemisphere and I always find it interesting that our practices are very similar worldwide given one or two differences and of course climate challenges. Bees are great wherever they are.
Jason...love your videos! Thanks for all your advice. I suggest you keep only 10 - 15 rubber bands in your tool box. The rest should be placed in your fridge to keep them from drying out. They will last 2 - 3 times longer.
It might be a little large, but if your toolbox were the size of a bee box, you would have a place to put a super down or sit down yourself.(mostly tool boxes get filled regardless of size) Come to think of it, if it looked like a bee box it would take a bold thief to steal it if you left it in the apiary.
Excellent video Jason. I carry around a small plastic tub from site to site but it's not exactly convenient since it doesn't have a carrying handle. Your box looks really handy to have. Seems like it fits everything you need and looks easy enough to carry around.
Very nice! I like the idea and setup. Good informative vid for new beekeepers. I thought about using an old deep brood box to do something like that but now i think i'm going to do it, just gotta re-enforce it and add some pieces.
candler, n.c. blueridge mtns. good vido. Jason lot of good info. ill have ta make a video. of what I call my chill box, along the same ideal as yours.well daddy from the man cave wishin you and yours the best in life , take care my brother , lookin for more of your vids.
+Jason “Beeman” Chrisman ,yea I hate when I get into the beeyard, and I forgot a tool,or I need to mark a queen.I wanted to build one for awhile, just keep forgetting about it,until I'm working the bee's and forgot to bring tools.Im building mine today!
+Jason “Beeman” Chrisman Yes you have got me going to build one. It's 35 degrees outside, and we got 5" of snow yesterday,so theirs not much to do outside.
+Earle Ramage That's easy enough! The box is 16 1/2" long, 9" wide the total depth is 11"(the lid is 2" deep and the bottom is 9"). Hope this helps and good luck with the build!
In your queen lure cocktail you mentioned you could also put in extra queen cells (maybe I heard this wrong) you might find in your hive. Does the queen larva or actually pupae from a capped queen cell have pheromone that would be helpful in the homemade queen lure? Very useful video, by the way!
+Chuck Davis I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. The queens need to hatch before I would use them in a lure. She does Not need to be mated. Sorry for the confusion. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. Also checked out your channel and your doing good thing over there, keep it up!
+Jason “Beeman” Chrisman - Thanks for the reply. All of your videos are very helpful and educational. I watched your queen rearing/cell punching videos several times and yesterday I pulled a queen bar from the cell starter hive and placed it into the finisher hive. The queen bar looked great, we will see how great in about 10 days! I hope to post a video on that entire process once I transfer capped QC's to the queenless nucs. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!
+Chuck Davis That's great, glad to hear your raising queens. Did you make your own cell punch or purchase mine? I sent out a lot of them so I don't remember who has mine, either way I am anxious to see the video.
Your beetool holder seems a little fiddly. Hot glue a little magnet in the tool slot and the magnet will hold your bee tool in place whilst you swing the latch into position. 💝 ☀🌵
My wife used to have a plastic tray that she carried all the toilette cleaning stuff in. Now every time I go to the bee yard with my new bee box she gives me a dirty look.
Thanks Jason I love watching ur videos what's the name of that nozema treatment and I have been trying to get me a Vale like that in ur box where can I thanks
I'm a new upcoming Bee Keeper. I really appreciated your video. Definitely the best gear/supply video i'v sean. Very helpful I definitely added it to my favorite list, so I could go back to it later-!!
Hi JC, Have a question for you. I picked two 5 frame Nucs yesterday and the weather has turned cold. They told us to wait until today to hive them but it it is cold, windy, and rainy, How long can I keep the Nucs in my garage before hiving them?
+Danny Johnston I have seen people keep them inside for 3-4 days but why are they inside? If they are in a nuc, you could just set them outside in the location you plan to keep them. Whatever you do though, don't set them out then decide to move them. You will lose bee because the hive moved and they returned to where they remembered.
+Jason “Beeman” Chrisman They told us at Kelly's Bees not to leave them out in the elements since it was suppose to freeze last night. Hopefully I will be able to hive them tomorrow, suppose to be warmer.
+Jason “Beeman” Chrisman I'm in Newburgh, IN. I think these nucs came from Jester Bees in Florida, maybe the reason they didn't want them out in the freezing temps. It is raining these morning but suppose to clear up around noon. Hope to get them in their hives today.
Danny Johnston Yeah, it's raining here also but they are saying it's for the full day here. So with that I hope the weather your way clears up. Does the nuc have screen over the entrance? What's keeping them in?
Hey Jason, just wanted to say thanks for putting all of these videos together. And also thanks for supporting the boy scouts!
I enjoy sharing the information about beekeeping, glad it's helpful. I also am thankful for my fans, so thank you.

4 years ago wow im redoing my tool box when i ran across this again. time for version 2.o lol
Great video, informative as always. What is the product you mentioned for Nosema and are you still using it?
Nosevit Plus but it's hard to find. The last bottle I got was from Ebay. Now Hive Alive has products the help control/prevent nosema.
Great kit, very organized! Maybe throw in a few antihistamine tablets if you have someone near have a reaction. I like your kit!
Great idea!

Fits nicely. Please don't kill the LEES.
Great Vid Thanks.
great toolbox :)
I couldn’t catch the name of the nosema treatment you mentioned. What is it?
Nosevit or Nosevit Plus. Both are hard to find but I have seen them on Ebay.
Nice
+Tappedline Thanks!

What is the finish you put on the box?
I just used Minwax Polyurthane. I painted on a coat and let it dry, then rubbed the box down with fine wool. Finishing with a 2nd coat of polyurthane.
Point me to the video that shows me how to use the queen cups. Thnx
