Take a deep dive into Gasparilla, Tampa's most celebrated tradition. This special evening at the Henry B.Plant Museum began with introductory remarks by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla King CX Peter Ward Lackman. Lackman revealed his family's special connection to the city's infamous pirate vessels. Next, Andy Huse gave the main address, offering an entertaining and eye-opening discussion of Jose Gaspar as imagined by novelists past and present. A prolific author, Huse is the Special Collections Associate Librarian at the University of South Florida Libraries.
