Sun plays with the kids tiring them out. But he isn’t programmed to take care of them when they nap since he’s too energetic to let them sleep or smth. So that’s why moons here. At first he was just a much calmer version of Sun. Belong little kids sleep. But because of the AI version of Afton taking over. He became aggressive. We see this in the messages Gregory finds on the Fazwatch. They say something along the lines of “Moon has been getting a lot more aggressive during nap time. We’ll need to call up a technician to see what’s wrong” this implies that Moon wasn’t like this before. But hey. That’s just my theory.

I love the part when he told us about why fans say he's so aggressive
Fan theory (calling it that as i aint researched het) is that he was originally a stage animatronic and the sun and moon persona was incorporated with moon bein evil and sun bein good, but they reprogrammed him last minute to be daycare attendant, and to make sure the lights would never go out, they put backup generators in the play area
I believe it’s to keep the sleeping kids safe and Gregory’s probably tall for his age and may look like an aggressor to moon

Charlie has the saddest story. Not even close. She should've rested long ago. But she kept playing as the heroine. Saving every soul and never rest until one isn't. Same goes for William.
Even her father attempted to put her to rest. And even that didn't work. She saw that her job is not complete and kept suffering to lift up the others.

Sun and Moon were originally supposed to be stage performers with Moon playing as the villain but then had to reprogram him to be the daycare attendant. They couldn't get Moon out of the programming though.

In my opinion mangle has the darkest story. She was just a regular animatronic like the rest but then they used her as a hands on experience for children. They ripped off her body parts and sewed them back together over and over again and that's why she is called mangle. 😢

Well in the newest tales of the pizzaplex books "Submechanophobia" it explains why sun and moon ended up in the pizzaplex, the book said that they were animatronics used for plays and when the lights would turn off the animatronic would change to the moon to represent evil, and the pizzaplex took these animatronics in but couldn't figure out how to get rid of the feature that turned the sun animatronic into the moon animatronic.

yeah, he was a part of a play, where he would turn evil in the dark. they couldnt get rid of the evil, and since Fazbear Entertainment is a very lazy company, they left it in.

Sun you are correct about, but Moon is a good side too with the problem being the thing controlling him. In the dlc we see ourselves rebooting Moon and he lightly flouts us out of the daycare.
Those who don't know: it's not a redesign this animatronic is called eclipse and not moon. eclipse is kinda nice on his good side

The real backstory. So sun was abused and his mom locked him in the closet with the lights off and that day something snapped so he turned into moon (not in animatronic form) and he escaped his house he was homeless for 10 years and he saw freddy's mega plexiglas was hiring, so he got a job as the daycare worker (he always wanted stuff clean because his mom would beat him if it was dirty) so he was cleaning and he was so focused he didn't hear the janitor say he was locking the door. So the lights went out and moon came out so sun didn't want moon to come out but moon did and moon killed sun (himself) his soul went into the animatronic known as sun and when the lights go out moon comes out.(j dont know where they got programmed from)edit: my fingers died.

Is because they actually weren't originally daycare attendants, they were performance bots. Sun being the protagonist and Moon being the antagonist. They were kinda just thrown into the daycare. At least that's what some people say. Another popular theory is just that the Glitchtrap Virus got to Moon, but not Sun. Either way, it was cheaper for Fazbear to just keep the lights on than actually fix the problem.

He was saying the reason he is so aggressive was because he was designed to stop kidnappers or anyone trying to harm the kids. Which is followed up by the fact in some of the artwork for Sun and Moon he is holding this candy labeled "Sleely-Time Candy!", which could infer that the daycare drugged the kids.

Actually, eclipse is what sun and moon was supposed to be originally until vanny supposedly separated them to make them act the way they do. I wish we got more of eclipse because he is probably one on the coolest animatronics in fnaf next to foxy and Freddy

Bonnie is the only animatronic with a soul that didn't really want revenge, and was pretty chill. (my guess is that's why he has the longest path to the office in fnaf 1)
The only withered who lost full on parts, while the others were just decayed and lightly scrapped. Didn't even appear in fnaf 3, meaning he was lost when fnaf 2's location shut down.
In fnaf 4, he's the easiest to detect when at the door.
We see him in FNAF World, as well as all his variations.
Again UCN, where he can't even kill you.
Then in FNAF AR, and all the other Bonnies.
And finally in Help Wanted, with all the modes.
We never see him again.

For all the people who are lazy and don’t wanna watch the vid, he’s aggressive is because it’s to keep kidnappers out and people trying to harm the kids away. There is also a candy called sleepy time candy on the nighttime tv. Were they trying to drug the kids ?
I’m pretty sure before Vanny hacked the animatronics moon was actually nice, and would just put the kids to sleep, and sun was just less annoying and would put shows for the kids

This needs an update for the new/older daycare attendant theory of Eclipse where it’s both sun and moon and fans suggest Afton split them into too different animatronics as well as eclipse is from ruins and a voice line is “this place will be full of kids” and doesn’t realize the place burnt down and kids don’t go there anymore… 😭

Sun & Moon we're actually RE-programed to run the day care, they used to be this side attraction show and moon was the scary part of the said show, so when they reprogrammed them to be the daycare attendant they couldn't get rid of moon's A.I so instead they just always left the lights on, this has been another fun faz fact.

He doesn't have 2 sides he has 3. Because there's the Sun, the Moon, and the Eclipse.
The Sun job is to be joyful and playful towards the kids, being all happy and energetic.
The moon job was to put kids to sleep (not like kill them or anything). But because of how he had bugs (Afton), they had to leave the lights on all the time to prevent the moon from coming out because he was very aggressive.
The Eclipse is to get kids out of the daycare when it's unsafe. In the DLC Ruin, Eclipse gets Cassidy out of the daycare due to how unsafe it is.
He's scared of the dark bc his mom lovked him in his closet a lot and he had an OCD type problem. He didn't always have another side of him but the darkness brought it out of him.

He actually can become a special character called eclipse when he is a nice person and he was programed to be eclipse but a side of him was evil as in the ruin dlc he becomes ECLIPSE MIC DROP
Apparently his mum didn’t like him doing stuff behind her back and one time she threw all his toys away and locked him up in the closet he escaped and for about 25 years e stayed outside homeless. He saw a job interview at five nights at Freddy’s security breach, he got the job but later on he was transformed into sun and moon. So excited to play the new ruin dlc
He actually has Three sides; Eclipse. Eclipse was hidden in SB but showed up in SB Ruin.
Sun and moon were not always going to be the daycare attendant. They were supposed to be part of the actual show with the glamrocks.
But he got switched over to day care attendant they only wanted sun but couldn't remove moon, so they figured that if the lights always stay on then moon will never show up.

Then vanny or afton tried to get to his programming and then messed him up. Reading some of the coments, he was supposed to be for when sun would perform shows for the children and they would scare him away. But that's just one of my theorys. And credit goes to whoever wrote that comment lols

Moon has a virus made by glitchtrap known as eclipse but not ruin eclipse from the dlc the virus would control moon making him seem evil but when moon is out sun gets tortured by eclipse causing him all his traumas, after the pizzaplex closed down there were no more kids in the daycare so when sun saw gregory he wanted him to stay so he wouldnt be lonely anymore warning him about the dangers if he turns off the lights, sun was just trying to make new friends :(
