Glencaddam is from Brechin which is where I'm from. When I was a kid I used to play around the distillery but I've never been in it. I tried to organise a visit earlier this year but they are not doing tours this year. These are exactly the whiskys I'm looking for in my little collection. I started with idea of having whisky that anyone who visited me could drink (supermarket) now I've decided I'm going to try and get as many distilleries as I can plus the extra ABV

In my markets, Glencadam is $10-15 cheaper. I do agree with your findings as the Glencadam offers more dimension in taste versus a delicious malt straight forward Arran. The elegance in Glencadam wins the day for me.

Agree with you Alan. I have both bottles open and I find myself struggling which one to have for the evening and often end up going for both one after the other. They both are so great and probably at the top of the entire 10 year core range offerings.

Alan, great H2H. Have only had the Glencadam 10 and bought a second. Now want to grab their 15 year. Favorite Arran is the Bodega Sherry Cask.

Good Stuff Alan. Love both. Slightly different but dekiciius at same level. Couple months ago my Glacadam 10 bottle get emptied. Last week i had sample of G15, more softer than 10 for me but not much. Actually sipping Arran 10 every other day with peaty ones. Amazing stuff. Sometimes cant stop. Its half a bottle now and better and better going down the bottle. For me is a Draw. 😋 slàinte 🥃

Love my Arran 10... It's so warm where I live (Brazil) specially this time of the year and my Arran 10 is probably my only "summer dram". Just pulled the trigger on a Glencadam 10 (1 liter bottle!), that will probably work wonders for this warm weather and that will help my Arran 10 last longer. Can't wait to try the Glencadam, the Arran 10 is just lovely. Cheers!

@@thewhiskyfriend I don't judge a whisky by my first glass. Tried it today, I liked it. But on my first impression the Arran 10 is considerably better IMHO. The Glencadam 10 reminds me of a slightly more complex, higher ABV, unchillfiltered and natural colored Glenmorangie 10.
I'm going to try again in a few days. I still liked it, but so far I like my Arran 10 considerably better. (not yet had them side by side though)
      Cheers!

Still trying to wrap my head around the Glencadam 10. I liked it, it's good, I found all the main notes. but it's really rebel, really strong alcohol feel. A friend of mine who doesn't drink whisky tried it and started coughing. lol. IMHO the Arran 10 is better with some margin. But haven't tried them side by side yet and I still need to put more time on the Glencadam. But Arran 10 was love at first sight... the Glencadam still needs to grow on me.
Still happy with my 1l bottle, the value was great.
      Cheers!

@@thewhiskyfriend Absolutely. It's weird because even though the alcohol feels very unsettled, it still feels refreshing. The bottle may also need some time to open up, we'll see. My first impression it reminded me of a slightly more complex Glenmorangie 10.
That I prefer (so far) the Arran 10 is not an issue at all, the Arran 10 is wonderful.
I also tried it with afew drops of water, helped with the alcohol feel... and turned wonderfully misty. :)

I've established a clear preference. I like the Glencadam 10 better than the Arran 10. I keep going to Glencadam each time, while the Arran has malingered at the back of the cabinet. This means that I should pointedly retrial the Arran next time and give it a more of a chance to express itself.
