For solving aging you may need to understand almost all processes in the human body almost perfectly.
      - First AGI between 2025 and 2028
      - First ASI between 2026 and 2031
      - Understanding the most processes in the human body very well: ASI + (1 to 8 years)
      - Medic prototyping (+1 to 3 years)
      - Testing (+10 years)
      - Availability (+3 years)
So iam guessing that aging will be solved between 2028 and 2042
Also iam guessing that the therapy will be available between 2041 and 2055

Does anyone know if AlphaFold 3 could be useful in any way for fighting against Prions, which are misfolded proteins which lack DNA, are infectious, and cause healthy DNA to misfold as well...
They are the cause of animal CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease), which targets primarily deer, and has not yet made the jump to humans (that we know of -- it is a HORRIBLE way to go)...

so this will explain like quantum entanglement and higgs boson? This perhaps is beyond my scope specifically but i appreciate someone applying generative to something other an devops hardening. Of the evolving technology...
7:35 But this would only be true if they have the data from the generative process that scales years into days, or am I miss understanding how FDA guidelines work(either this or ai safety is pulling more wool over end-user eyes for funding in search of its own tail?) right?
9:22 Very cool but this is starting to sound more like just using big words and mentioning key-terms that resonance with what people want to hear without actually addressing any of the real world obstacles in a real life setting. Even which if true the target campaign is going in the right niche but how come ai safety needs to be so evil and actually hurt the areas of study instead of accelerate it like AI is imagined for?
    I don't get it...

It already is changing everything. They discovered thousands of new materials and possible superconductors. You already have labs around the world trying to build some of these materials, I think we have like 700 different new materials already created and are being tested. Before companies spent months / years creating a new material to test, now they have a list of 2mln non-existing materials found by stuff like Gnome and they go through that list and build stuff they think might work. This is still a long process but instead of creating 5 new materials per year that we test and often throw out all of them cause they are fails, we can create now 700, and even if they all are fails the chance of finding something that will actually work is 100x higher than just a few years ago.

    • @jenovas00
      @jenovas00 28 дней назад +6

Look at it like the record sniper shot is 4km.
Before having this technology we were a blind guy with a pistol trying to hit a target 5km away from us not knowing in what direction the target is.
We could fire hundreds of thousands of shots and never hit, never even be close to hitting.
Now we actually found a sniper rifle and know in what direction to look, hitting a target 5km away is still an unbelievable thing that will take thousands of shots maybe hundred of thousands, but eventually with a bit of luck you should land one hit.
With a pistol even after a mln shots you probably still wouldn't be anywhere close to the target.
So we still gotta do the incredible world breaking shot and shot thousands of bullets to maybe get one, but at least now we got the proper tools to try to even do the shot and we actually know in what direction to shoot.

The progress that Alphafold has made over the last few years is truly breathtaking, but I feel like we aren't seeing the forrest through the trees. As exciting as it is to think about all of the diseases we are going to be able to cure in the short term, it doesn't seem like anyone is discussing the long term impacts on population. By circumventing the spread of disease on such a large scale, we are messing with a system that has seen life propagate successfully on earth for roughly 3.7 billion years. I feel like the short term gains are going to pale in comparison to the suffering and hardships caused over time. On average, 50 million people die from disease each year worldwide. Many of those in developing nations. Let's say we are able to eradicate half of those deaths, not to mention the potential to increase average life expectancies and fertility rates. It's not hard to see the potential for massive societal collapse due to an explosive population surge.
