I always take my new cards to the field and hit format there On the flex. That’s the reason I won’t buy the cheaper spyponts. Hate bringing the cards in to format
Nice review, I own 2cell links 2micro’s an 2Flex , only problem I have with the flex is the time it takes to receive a requested video sometimes hours … Also on the screw mounts a good smear of Vaseline will keep the ants at bay ..There good cameras over all Thx For you time ,BeSafe out There
Thank you, I just bought another Flex tis weekend to set it up for video on a hot spot where I have a flex set up over corn pile. I'm forward to seeing how it does.. Thanks for the heads up on the flex videoing and also the great tip on the Vaseline. I will try that. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel.
I just bought a two pack of Spypoint Flex-M's. Trail cams are new to me. Dumb question: If I intend to have video/photos transmitted to my phone (via spy point app) do I need to sign up for a cellular/wireless transmission plan with Spypoint or another carrier? And if so, if I set to the timing as recommended here (for whitetails) what plan would typically make the most sense? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Those are really good cameras. No you will not have to have a cellular plan. All it takes is downloading the app and pick whether you want to keep the free plan or become a member for 99 dollars a year and you can run as many cameras as you want on the plan. No additional cellular wireless plans. On the set up I prefer to trigger every 15 minutes if they are on a feeder but if it’s on a trail. You could put it on one minute if there’s not a lot of traffic. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Just had one delivered to the house( a 36) and I really appreciate the time you took to explain the activation process. Especially having to use the code inside the bottom cover to set up the camera and you can best believe that this step has more then likely been over looked by Thousands of people and thus their camera dosen't work properly or work at all hence a bad wrap. I have been using a simple set up like the Stealth Cam and love the camera, but Ai wanted to move to a cellular camera for the obvious reasons of disturbing the place on a regular bases. Great video thanks again for sharing and I hope my experience is as good with the Spy Point cameras. My question is the Green Flashing light as it takes your picture by the watering trough, deer dont see this flash?
Congratulations on your new purchase and I am glad you got use out of the video. The green light has never affected the deer at all. If anything it might make them a little curious. You’re gonna like the 36 mp. Great pictures night or day. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel
Also the camera’s ability to Format the SD card right there on the spot. No need to Download and create a file on a desktop and go from there. Thanks again
Well like I commented earlier my camera was at the house when I got back on land. I followed your advice to the Tee and everything powered up and started taking pictures immediately. Fantastic information Thanks Piney
My Flex S has time lapse on it but I don’t know how to set up the time for it. If I want my camera to take pictures between say 7 am and 4 pm where do I do that ?
Very nice review! I get crap battery life period, like two days, I ordered the li pack in hopes this changes. I'm also going to get the long range antenna. Setting is one minute now. When I first set up I received photos then abruptly stopped sending. That's wonderful advise, every 15 min. Thank you
Thank you. The Li battery pack is a great idea. I just purchased one myself. Playing with those setting help a lot with battery life. Your welcome and thanks for watching.
Thanks for the advice. I turned the image capture to 5 min and it's working great and battery is doing fine. Just the same going with the Li. Good hunting to you, Eric
My g-36 worked for 5 weeks. Then it started losing the SD card periodically but would eventually find it. Then it stopped taking pictures. Batteries were still at 58%. Spypoint said I had to manually update the firmware. I did that and also put in new batteries. Then it wouldn't connect to the carrier. After repeated the process several times, I discovered the battery pack was not making good contact. Cleaned the contacts and it's working for now. Time will tell if it was the contacts all along.
Great video! I switched to SPYPOINT a couple of years ago and really like them! I have the micro Link ones and they have been great. Have you ever tried solar? I am thinking about setting up a couple more for security purposes. Just wondering how the solar works. Thanks!
Thank you. I love my spypoints and have a few micros still in the field. Yes I have a flex that is solar paneled and using the spypoint battery pack. The solar panel is a HME. They work great.
@@pineylife it’s going on three plus years in the woods now beside batteries no problems . I bought the rechargeable battery packs from spypoint to run in the flex 36

Have you tried the Energizer Ultimate Lithium in them? I get crazy long battery life in my spypoints with them. I have two that I put batteries in November and still going strong, and that's with them set to send pictures instant or twice a day. I only get maybe 2 months out of the max. Great video buddy. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the tip. I will get some of them. If I can extend the battery life on these cameras that just another reason to not have to go into those areas. Thanks for all your support my friend
I have a dead zone near my lease in a valley but it’s a great funnel for deer. I have a camera set up on it and I receive pictures worth week signal. So they do pretty good in hill country
I’ve been using SPYPOINT cameras for about 5 years. Started with the micro lite then went to Microlite S, I have about 10 of those, the last 3 they sent me doesn’t work. Spent almost an hour on the phone with SPYPOINT and problem couldn’t be resolved. I upgraded to the Flex S at no cost. Hope it works!
It automatically installs the firmware. Only thing you have to do is format the card. Now if for some reason it lost a update or didn’t update you can manually do it just like the lte
Yes I can still see my photos from years ago. Now saying that I am on the 250 picture per month. I’m not sure if the free 100 a month saves pictures past that. Have you tried signing out and signing back in to see if you can grab the pictures from a month ago?
Im disappointed so far with Flex 36g. Set up easy. The problem is takes and notifies a photo is available. The count on App shows number of pictures. When going to view no pictures. Yes reformated card on PC, installed and new batteries. Many trouble shooting videos too. Very disappointing, so glad i had not paid of a plan. Anyone else experiencing these issues?
