Bob Ross was such a huge part of my upbringing, I was born in '96 so his show was sadly already over, but I remember that almost every night before bed my parents would put on a VHS tape of his or if I was lucky, two even, and let me watch him for a while and I'd be so amazed and soothed by his voice, personality and work that I'd go to bed feeling in perfect harmony, I'm told they found he would work like magic on me when I was a baby and wouldn't sleep, they'd only be able to lull me by either taking me out on a drive and letting the vibes of the car put me to sleep or by just turning on the TV to Bob Ross and he'd calm me down. It's actually because of him that in my teens I got into drawing and painting

I really respect Bob Ross for having the confidence that an audience would have the patience to just watch him paint 🎨. So much entertainment both old and new is loud, fast 💨 and not calming at all. Bob Ross was one ☝️ of the few people who really believed that anyone would be happy 😊 to watch him calmly and politely paint masterpieces, in the hopes that we'd do it at home 🏡 too, and got rewarded for it in the long run

With painting I'm pretty specific of what I like when I see it. I just unfortunately do not have any knowledge of what makes a great painter. For me, all of his paintings in this video are all home runs. Watching the ease of which he composes the painting makes me feel like I could do it.
