I have had a horrible experience with Facebook marketplace bikes I bought my 2017 diamondback atroz comp for $900 and ever since I got it it’s only had problems. The bike was in mint condition and had a whole new upgraded drivetrain since day one of owning that bike has broke. I put a massive pinch flat in the tire in the first six hours of having it and since I bought it I’ve definitely put over $1500 into the bike. And with it breaking it’s not just me riding too hard. I actually totaled my dropper post putting my dropper up while it was in my living room. And I have gone through 4 70$ derailers in less than a year of owning it, and all four of them broke or more like folded in half just by doing small Jibbs in my driveway The few pluses that have come out of the bike is it looks really cool it does handle what I ride fairly well and sent it breaks so much. I’ve replaced every part on that bike so it’s extremely upgraded. And I was my bike shops number 1 customer

That’s a bummer man! Yeah buying used stuff can be sketch sometimes. I’ve never bought a used full suspension. I would be weary about it unless I really could trust the seller.

What is wrong with the 200$ walmart bikes tho genuinely.? I'm looking into doing trails and trying mtn bike out. But if your just doing it as a hobby what's the bad

The main concern is how they are assembled. When you buy a bike from a bike shop it is assembled by a bike mechanic, if you buy one from Walmart it is put together by an employee who may or may not assemble it safely. Also Walmart bikes are typically made with cheaper components that may not be able to handle the demands of off road riding. Many bikes from Walmart that look like mountain bikes even say "not for off road use" on the stickers. If you aren't doing much off road riding and can also look over the bike for safety, you may be able to get away with buying one. For most people I recommend staying away from Walmart bikes. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching! 🤙
