I used a crowsfoot wrench to remove line on driver side. Also only needed to remove air cleaner housing and 2 electrical connecters. But I only replaced the 1 line with the banjo connecter.
Thanks Peter i see u opened 19 mm hose bolt rotating clockwise top to down. normally we do anticlockwise to unbolt. am i right. also the first one is the main high pressure hose right having o ring
For the high pressure hose with Corollas from 2003 to 2008, what is the size of the fittings on both ends please? I need to buy flare nut sockets to get my old high pressure, power steering hose off.
I have a question for one of the hoses. It’s behind the power steering pump coming out from the passenger size cabin area. I got my engine replaced and I notice it was disconnected causing it to leak out the fluid it’s transporting. What hose is this and where do I connect it
On my 98, the nut on the rack side is 17mm. So if i used a 12 point flare wrench, would i need an 18mm? These 12pt flare wrenches are somewhat pricey ( $30-40 ). Has anyone used a 6pt crowfoot with success?
Big Love Hello. You can use any tool, but the size must be accurate. If there is 17 mm bolt, please use 17 mm socket. Please visit the nearest auto store part shop and ask what is the 17 mm tool price. 30 US$ price sounds high.
Peter Finn I'm happy to report that i did replace the hose with a 17mm crowfoot and a 3/4 ratchet w/breaker bar. I wouldn't attempt to remove the rack nut/bolt without at least a 12pt flare or crowfoot, as your degree of movement is severely restricted. BTW, no store in my area ( I checked over 6 retail stores ) which carry a 12pt flare wrench in stock.
Great video, thank you for showing us the Teardown and even the struggles that go with it.
Our pleasure!

19 mm
Hi Peter...what is that black canister you removed to clear the area?
It is coal canister, it eliminated gasoline pollution.
Oh ok. Thanks Peter! I like your videos. :)
+Ogie Lacerna its the air filter coal canister
Thank You Peter Finn ! excellent explanation. Are new metal fittings on new hose fabricated ? or original? are these copper tube ? thanks
rpc938 Hello. I use copper pipe and metal fittings made by machine.
You could have used a breaker bar with a 19mm flare nut socket.
I have read your post! Good comment. Continue in the same way.👍😀
