@@UshankaMaster Makoto didn't do anything to help the unconscious students that were part of Ilumgand's team or the members of the Purple Guard. He watched all of them get eaten. At this point, unless Makoto has a pre-existing (personal or business) relationship with the person, or if that person in a position to help Makoto (like Rembrandt or the king), he's probably not going to do a thing to help. That the heroes are coming to help is already giving him the pretext to cut back on his efforts.
This scene just perfectly sums up why this show is so boring to me. That monster wasn't even a nuisance! The action in this show and the outrageous power gap between the MC and anyone else just ruin it. When your MC is this strong, you can't have these lame fights. If there's no risk of the characters failing then the means by which then win need to be creative or funny. These fights basically never are. People like to compare this show to Slime, another OP iisekai. But the difference there is what I just said. When that show has fights, no one doubts they'll win. But the fights are still awesome because of how creative they are. Maybe it's just the studio difference. Maybe JC just isn't up to par. I'll never forget how they ruined Index/Railgun

Having tense and/or battles isn't the point of having an OP protagonist. These shows are about the character interactions, the overall plot, how good the action looks, and in other shows, the comedy. If you nail other aspects like those as this series does, then it doesn't matter if the winner of individual battles is a foregone conclusion. It's about the journey, not the final result.
This anime is so genuinley bad I cannot understand how people enjoy it, the dialog is attrocious, the characters suck, the joke about the MC being ugly was extremely overplayed after the 2nd use and its just so boringgg!
That he is seen as ugly is not a joke, but world building. What do you expect how a average person from Earth would be seen if a top model from Earth would be just around average in this world?
