The fact that he was shocked by a mile walk is so sad, but its kinda true any time I'm going somewhere I tend to walk if its less than 2 miles, and people lose their minds.
I am not saying that it is long but, I read War and Peace on escalator on the way down to the Metro at Náměstí Míru.....
The other side of the river which you didn't like so much has (during the summer Fridays and Saturdays) huge bar/club type of setting. About 500 meters of pure club/bar atmosphere on the riverbank. Tons of people and DJs and places to buy drinks and beer. The younger local audience / students go there a lot. Highly recommended for those people who prefer club atmosphere instead of relaxed atmosphere.
We were actually at the 9ítka Riverside bar last summer. They was this event there where people drove BMX off a huge ramp, I loved the atmosphere! Lots of families having a good time. ❤
This guy loves the city he lives in, and does more for it than most of the majors in other cities👍
never been there and it is not even far, gotta go to Prague 👍
Plan to have enough time for it! We were there for 3 days (2 days could be used) and at least another 2 days would have been needed for more tram and foot tour in the city.
@@cmbbfan78 thanks ;)
I love your videos so much! I`ve never been to Prague but I feel like I know more about Prague than my own city.
I've been to Vyšehrad twice, but both times it was late in the year and cold, so no one was sitting outside drinking beer. After you go under the railroad bridge south of the Výton tram stop, you reach the entrance to the steep hill climb up to Vyšehrad, and the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. It's worth a visit inside, and sometimes there are organ concerts there. The cemetary beside the church is where many famous Czechs are buried, and it is carefully maintained. I made photos of the tennis courts, the Devil's Pillars, and the little chapel with the connonball stuck in it. Spectacular views of the city below, and also of the river looking south. Prague is wonderful!
Vysehrad was one of my favorite places when I visited Prague
underrated place
0:20 Bonus Czech word: "hradba" means "rampart, wall, battlement", so "Na Hradbách" literally means "On the ramparts/fortification walls" (Vyšehrad is a historic fort in Prague).
I'm actually visiting Prague in a couple days, for the first time! I may try the kayaking, sounds great! :)
What a great channel
Vysehrad is my favourite part of Prague. I survived a summer thunderstorm in the Ramparts in 2020. Prague was empty. It was fantastic!
Thx guys . I had a good time watching this episode, and i got thirsty, and i wanted to try the sauna.
I've been watching for a while now and this video has solidified the fact that I want to visit Prague. Wife left me this year so now I only need to plan for myself and it makes it so much easier to travel
Amazing, love it!
In Hradbach last year they sold vegan utopenec (pickled sausage) too.
When I came to the Christmas markets they were signs about new restaurants and bars along there glad they built it
I can only imagine exploring Prague with you would be awesome.
Praha is amazing mate & you show the best of it 👍🤘
Many, many years ago I was in Prague. And to my regret, I did not visit Vishehrad. I was only for four days and the time was too short.
This was pretty much our weekend you just missed the food festival on Na Plavka Smichov yesterday
Yes, you are able to drink still cheaper beer than in western Europe. Also with a very high quality. But the time is over, drinking 0,80 Cents to 1 Euro Beers. CZ is not a cheap tourist place to go! Sitting right now with a very tasty cerna svine beer from cernokostelcka pivovar. 35 km outside of Prague City Center. There is National Brewery Museum of CZ. Very beautiful and well renovated historical Brewery place with good authentic food and beer. Surprisingly german Word in Czech language: Svině (CZ) for Schweine (German). Meaning Pigs in english. Svině 😂😂😂
Kayak bar? I love it! 👍🌻😁
Wow, the Smichov riverbank is so nice now! I used to run there when there was nothing, maybe one secret club 😛
I’m pleased to hear Na Hradbach is still there- I believe it was not certain that it would continue a year or two ago. Interesting that kayaking came up a few days after it was on a British TV programme (Travel Man: Prague, where they took a kayak tour). :)
I'll be in Prague in two weeks. I'm definitely checking that out
We walked to Vysherad on our last trip and it's VERY COOL!!! Didnt see this beer garden area though must have missed it!
I was wondering if you would ever show Smichov in any of your videos. My grandmother was born there many years ago, albeit when it was not as nice as it is now. Thanks!
cool video! still waiting for the street art in prague video .Cheers!
I can see why that riverside bar is your favourite. You actually get beer in the glass rather than 50% foam head. Love your city, we visited a couple of years ago.
I've been there! I didn't know they had kayaks though! Putting that on my bucket list!
Make sure to bring a bucket, just in case.
Don't let it fool you with a low price - Radegast is tastier (bitter and fuller taste) than Pilsner.
Thanks for the advice. Love Prague and Czech beer is the best (and I'm trol Germany)
I actually went to that beer garden back in 2016. It was great up there.
Praha 5 riverside is MUCH better than P2. Smichov rules!
This is great, I am a great swimmer and would hate to force to wear a life jacket! luckly I seen none so this is just perfect for me!!
:)
Edit: Quelle est la chaine de television qui vous a suivi ? Ca serait super de savoir, pour pouvoir regarder le reportage sur la TV francaise.
maybe TF1?
5:45 I remember this place used to have the surveillance camera art thing like 2 decades ago
Can you please remake some of your old videos
Especially the parks as i loved it and wish i saved it before it was delated
Good Ad.
Funny thing about the word for french people "francouzi", it sounds almost like the Dutch "fransoos", but here it's an insult.
I've taken the metro to the Vyšehrad station a number of times, and somehow I never realized I had arrived there by traveling inside the bridge.
Well Janek, see you on Majówka :>
Ahoj Honsa. If you are looking for something new, Praha has its first Comedy Club, Metro Comedy Club, and many comedy venues. I am one of the comics, if you want to contact something Kristyna and Katie are coowners of Metro.
Any responsible kayak provider would hand out life jackets or buoyancy aids when hiring out to members of the public, particularly when connected to alcohol. Kayak instructor and water rescue advisor.
👍🏻👍🏻
I hope you asked about the copy of the video French TV shoot there and you put it here. Would be interesting to see
PID used to cover the river taxi, when did that change?
Hi honest guide! Can you fly drones on prague?
I'm going going 6 days to chequia. 3 days to spend at Plzen at Metalfest open air, and then 3 days in prague. I'll nedd a data sim card? Where to buy? which brand do you reccomend. Can you help me please.
There are a lot of frnech in Prague. Obvioulsy a lot of students (like me) but not only. Czech Republic is probably one of the "not direct neighbourg" country in Europe that we are told the most about.
Je suis d'accord
Why is it that you guys are hearing about Czechia often? In what context?
@@trapeh TV, books, conversations. When you have a documentary about history or a place outside of France, I would say that Czech Republic is more often the subject than other "similar" or comparable countries (non direct european neighbourg with a rich history like Poland, denmark etc)
@@phileascurtil5605 Wow, that's very interesting, thank you! I hope you're enjoying your stay here.
@@trapeh I enjoy it a lot! I'm even thinking of comming back after my studies to work some years here before settling in France.
4:55 one of Prague's few turf zones is by that bridge. Do suggest more!
Yes we was in thos areas last november and concluded it shud be a werry nice plase to hang out at the summer, same as hte Tram pub!
Open in winter?
lookin younger every passing day haha
Is it worth visiting the zoo and botanical garden in Prague? We are in Prague for a few days and we are looking for attractions other than views and bars, and on the map for patrons from Janek we see mainly this type of attractions 😅. Janek help! 😀
Defenitly worth to go to Zoo Prague. Its from the shores of the River up to the Hill. You can even ride a chairlift there. What i like most are the differnt kind of kiosk alongside your way through the Zoo. 👍
id love to meet you and show me round haha saves me getting conned hahaha
What is the name of the French TV ?
Yes Fun ! 🌴🌴Aloha
lets goooo
I am surprised they don't require you to wear lifevest while renting their kayak.
If you cannot swim, why are you renting a Kayak?
@@robinsebelova7103 because people are overconfident in their ability? Tourists as a group don't tend to be the brightest.
@@Arjay404 Well, their health is their responsibility. If they want to win Darwin's Award, that is up to their judgement. Why should law care about something that concerns just you? You are an adult, you should know better. Being responsible for your actions is the basic principle.
Having recreational places is great for the general public but it shouldn't be commercialized too much i.e. the number of restaurants/brewery/stores etc otherwise it just spirals out of control and becomes congested
Is the beer garden bicycle accessible?
Does not matter. Zero alcohol tolerance is required of any driver, whether it is a car or bike, there is no difference.
Yes but it's going uphill a lot if you come from the river
The French guy at the end is super cute!!!
Make it an Ale, an you got a deal
02:55 any health and safety tips? Like, where to buy your own LifeVest while kayaking?
is Gigi Migi still there?
wasn't aware that Czechia already switched to euros lol 😂
we didn't pass, janek just recalculated it. :)
@@proweb11 that was the joke 😑
@@prplt i know... but..... :D
That would be perfect. Czech Economy total depends on Euro. Cz famous Holiday Country Croatia is also in Euro since 2023. Money exchange in Streer isn t necessary anymore and Janek & Honsa go into insolvecy with that. No one eorldwide needs czech Rest of Monopoly Money 😮😮😮
@@wernerleinberger9847 but how are the scammers going to scam people with Belarusian rubles then 😂
Hoe garden..😂 no wonder you love coming there Janek.
Thats strange how you dont legally have to wear a lifejacket... Here in NZ you must have one. Or one would think you would wear one if it wasn't illegal anyway.
It's a Czech common logic - what are you doing on kayak in the middle of river if you cannot swim?!
Just a little shocking that they give kayaks to go onto the river without any life jackets.
where's your life jacket???
2nd
Well those places are soon to be tourist traps 😅 we can’t help it, we want an authentic visit
First🎉
Cringe
don't show them Vyšehrad, they don't need more people there 😀
hey guys, would it be possible to do an episode on Chech republik with kids?
What is the water like, stinky?
It's a normal river water, Vltava has very dark color everywhere, not only in Prague. We don't have that advantage to have crystal clear mountain rivers. 😀
@Pidalin I mean I've been to prague many times... the idea of tipping a kayak in that water never appealed to me, lol
@@KAFKUBAPeople swim in it regularly. I wouldn't recommend it, but the water doesn't smell bad.
@@max2themax nice thanks.
It’s not dirty per se. Most of Czechia is of volcanic origin, so the rivers are dark…every village has their sewage waters cleaned today…
In all honesty.. the only thing french people like more than france, is england 🏴
Опять слово как в русском. У нас тоже "французы".
3rd
Grow up
I dont understand why people are allergic to walking haha
Kayak with no life jacket?
🙄
yes ,why not?
I never wear a life vest unless I'm kayaking in the ocean or in white water.
I saw these kayaks in Prague. There was a family with two kids who definitely were under ten without vest. Really shocking
@@suiblade.
Why, by the age of ten, both my kids had extensive swim training and even sea swimming training.
Wtf
Please wear a life jacket when kayaking.
Encouraging tourists to rent a kayak on a fast flowing cold river with no lifejacket? That's just dumb
well it is not for tourist, even these honest guys thinks it....wish to have more of these "dumb" things in Prague where scared tourist run away from it to comfortable and of course much more safer tourist traps.
Where are the life jackets? Eastern Europe lags so much behind the western standards even after 35 years, my god
You said Hoegarden beer? i love it too. my favorite
I'm not saying Prague sucks but Prague absolutely sucks.
Clickbait by calling the kayaking free
The word 'free' was in quotes, you silly thing.
@@GeorgE-yo5yc they're wrapped in asterisks, which is meant to make the word pop out more.
It is free if you have one of those sports cards
@@GeorgE-yo5yc The title has been changed now :)
Prague SUCKS. I'd rather go anywhere else.
yeah, tell everywhere you can....I fully support it as well. These tourist in Prague sucks me the most 🙂
No lifejacket....
Why would you need that if you can swim? Czechs are nation of swimmers. Almost all Czech people can swim.
