Those last 5 minutes had me rolling! You're real brave to tab vim away when they still had access to writing and actually make ":" available as input 😂
@@TheVimeagen That sounds awesome Prime! A minor request: please stop creating new YT channels. I am already confused between your current four (that I know about, maybe there's more?)
Here's how i remember it's : i was participating at a small programming tourney at a uni, and code for one of our tasks never passed any tests after submission. And after tourney was over judges explained to us that server is ran on linux, and when we used getline(stream, string, ' '), last character in returned string was .
It kindda amazes me that you didn't know what Carriage Return and New Line did... It's a analogous to the old typewriter. The CR, Carriage Return, is when you'd swipe the roll back to the left. Then, when you hit the end, the sawtooth would let you do a further press, rolling it down, pulling the paper up a line. If you wanted to do another newline, you'd release, and press it again, giving you another roll turn. In PC's there is 0 reason to have the , but Windows still uses it, but since a PC doesn't have a carriage that needs to be moved (analogous to your cursor), *NIX just uses the (newline). Knowing what the characters mean, also makes it a lot easier to remember, as you can just imagine the typewriter and order of operations.
You know how he deleted his home directory? He was using vim, you may have heard of vim, it's pretty awesome, you probability wouldn't get it because.. OH MY GOODNESS YOU GUYS ARE TRYING TO DOING IT AGAIN, WHAT THE HELL
You should have split that delay into the amount of time you're not listening at all. That would reduce the errors because half the time you're collecting the old key press. So the delay would be the same inputting it would just be knocking off more and more old results from being polled.
I had to leave halfway through this stream lol but it was cool XD Side note, shoulda been on nix XD I aint scared of no rm -rf /* hahaha I just have to reboot, plug in a usb, run a command and wait for like 30 minutes lol
what about data you didn't backup yet, even if you do daily backups instead of weekly losing 24h of stuff can be pretty damn bad even if it's not the end of the world, he should've just done it in docker
@@masterflitzerEverything I work on is in git. I only lose up until my last commit. I don't take that many pictures and when I do they are in my phone. Nix restores everything else. Only thing I lose is my notes/bookmarks since last backup and once I figure out secret management in nix/git, not even that.
Vim is actually really weird with newlines. When replacing, is a newline (LF - so, err... actually ) and is a null byte (NUL - so... \0) The only explanation I have is that \0 is already used to capture the whole match. I guess "n" for "null"? I don't know, it's weird. On the search side, though, it's the way you'd expect - matches LF and matches CR... If you actually want to replace something with a CR... I actually have no idea how you'd do that. Even C-V C-M doesn't work - that also turns into LF... (And C-V C-J makes a null) This might actually be impossible
He said before that it was the whatever the default that comes with his system (Pop_OS!), so probably either Liberation or Ubuntu Mono. I am not familiar enough to recognize either of those by eye, but should narrow it down if you liked it and wanted to compare.
"2300 virgin soy devs vs 1 chad Netflix engineer" would be a better title
More like "Netflix engineer destroyed by a lot of soy (as a millionaire)"

Chat's attempt to rimraf you throughout the whole video series just made my day.
It was f* hilarious
This was THE BEST stream VOD I have ever seen on RUclips! Love it

Chat almost rmrfing is hilarious
Twitch chat is wild, giving chat that kind of power is terrifying but also a great opportunity for fun
Not fair.... Primagen's keyboard should have been rate limited to one charater every 5 seconds.
I'm honestly suprised this went without a major incident.. Prime needs to talk to Thor about security Lmao
i was on the stream that time, it was so hilarious
"Netflix engineer destroyed by a lot of soy (as a millionaire)"
One of the best moments in streaming history if ever there was one :D
You are so genuine!, Thanks for the amazing experience!!!

I've never used VIM but I imagine this is just your regular VIM experience. 14 hours to type out in iterator.
Maybe when you are just starting. When you're used to vim, this is what vscode feels like
This was very fun to watch 😂
CRLF is for DOS and HTTP
(Windows still has it's roots in DOS)

What font are you using in nvim?
Thats JetBrains Mono....
You can recognize by letter u without a tail
I was wrong🫣... that tail was not visible @480p
