  • Features all 11 devastating catches by the amazing Lynn Swann and John Stallworth. Swann catches 5 passes for 129 yards and 1 TD in the first half alone, forcing the Browns to double-cover him. No problem, because Stallworth catches 6 passes (4 in the 2nd half) for 126 yards and 2 TDs. Terry Bradshaw is red-hot, despite playing with a cast on his broken left wrist, hitting 13 of 21 for 283 yards and 3 TDs.

    This was a virtuoso performance by two of the greatest receivers in NFL history. Swann and Stallworth made it look so easy. They both ran smart routes, created separation from the defensive backs, made good catches, and got yardage after making the grabs. They put on a clinic. This tandem won four Super Bowls in six years. No other receiving duo can say that.

      @@mcmillenandwife It pains me how many people today, even those who watched him play, but even more with people who only look at box scores, believe he was just an average QB along for the ride. It doesn't help the way Terry downplays himself or Swann comments about Bradshaw's accuracy. Yes, Terry often times put it where only Swann could get it because of Swann's talent. But as you see in this video, as well as plenty of other highlights to Swann and Stallworth, as well as to Lewis, Shanklin and Cunningham, Bradshaw was very accurate often. It's like these people don't look up the highlights or even know that Terry was a was a League MVP and multiple Super Bowl MVP and multiple Team MVP and a 3 time Pro Bowler when it wasn't a popularity contest.

    • @mcmillenandwife
      @mcmillenandwife  Год назад +1

      Agreed,@@80steen44, Terry doesn't get near the credit he deserves. Easily the best of his era (only Staubach compares), unflappable in big games, one of the strongest arms in NFL history. During the last 5 years of his career, he was in a league of his own. Still had the deep ball and the laser beams, but the accuracy, touch, leadership, ability to read defenses were all in full bloom by then. He had it all.

Rice and Taylor are a step down as a tandem because while Rice is probably the GOAT, Taylor was good but not great. I think it would've withstood scrutiny even with today's nonsense rules, simply because he took two steps with it in his control. He wasn't falling to the ground as he caught it, but instead was tripped up after possession.
      All that said, you never know what the inconsistent refs will call, and I agree with your overarching point.
      I watched the '95 Steelers vs Colts AFC Championship game recently, and Ernie Mills' big catch late in the 4th definitely wouldn't have been ruled a catch today. Crazy, because it was clearly a great catch. You could see it was a catch then, and you can see it was a catch now... except now they would rule it incomplete.

    • @TheJoeyG88
      @TheJoeyG88 5 месяцев назад

      It was totally a catch the reason i say that is yes the two feet were clearly down and established and I believe as Swann was getting tripped up he was going to do his customary spike behind his head, his semi trademark spike. As he started to do it he got tripped and that's why he dropped it. And I think he thought it could be ruled a fumble that's why he grabbed it so fast. If it was an incomplete pass he'd a let it go..
      But by any letter of the law catch two feet possession established in end zone immediately TD..
