Why not using a motion platform to move the entire shed?
I can imagine Jimmy's mum coming out and saying "What the fuck are you doing now Jimmy?"
Jokes aside, this reminds me of bus seats - they have their own suspension.
I'd guess that race cars have something similar.
Search for "seat movers" from the outside they look very unrealistic but actually they are tricking the brain better than platform motion simulators
Don't come knockin' when the shed's a-rockin'...
"Jimmy decides to forfeit his dream of moving out and spends his savings to mount an earthquake simulation platform under his shed."
Powerful European businessman tightly straps thicc Brit into his pleasure seat (intense vibration!)
LMAO
Lmao you sicko
Thank you, i will now think of this randomly at 3 am while trying to sleep.... 😑
alternative title lmao
This brilliant. I love how the designer basically thought to themselves “well, I can’t realistically simulate all motion...so how can I focus on transmitting the motion data that is relevant to driving the car?” I was really surprised to see the seat moving so little but, yet, Jimmy just endlessly talking about how much he felt he could “feel the car”. That is some brilliant engineering.
I’ve done one of these before, and as a guy with back problems, it put me out for the day. You realize just how bumpy the tracks are.
In my case, it’s worth sacrificing the immersion of a motion rig and vr headset for the comfort of a chair and screens. But that’s the great thing about sim racing, there are so many options.
Cheers
Screens cant compete with VR.
Yeah i understand, when I went to Las Vegas they had a racing sim like this but a real car on top, and my god.. The feeling is crazy, Sadly I couldnt have it.😅🥺
As a driver who has driven at Silverstone hundreds of time I can safely say it’s definitely not as bumpy in real life. The bumps on this sim/this track or the way it’s set up is definitely too aggressive! I’ve raced at Sebring before and that for sure was the most bumpy track I’ve ever driven which resembles what the sim is doing here... but Silverstone is actually really smooth!
@@joshwebsterracing5380 just out of curiosity what car do you race, couldnt that be to different suspension? im just guessing so feel free to correct me anyone, but arent bumbs in car like jimmy is driving more agressive than, lets say GT car, of course depends on what you are actually racing
He's driving a desktop background in the thumbnail.
How fast can this photo of a race track lap the Nordschleife?
How fast can the Windows XP desktop background can lap the Nordschleife?

It's windowed
Now we need details on the rig. Components, settings, the entire recipe! As improvements to the rig: rear traction loss and wheel&pedals on the motionplatform.
This is awesome. I’ve seen all the other ones that are like mini roller coasters for your house.
This is more of what I was expecting. Feel all the bumps and it moves up and down, back and forth when accelerating, braking and turning. I really like how this one works.
👊
Gotta say, from a viewing experience, it's not as great to watch. From a jealousy standpoint, holy crap.
Yeah, it's looks like a flight sim
imagine this on Dirt Rally Finland track
Compression fractures are 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵
@@NaniSenpaiCS Make sure the safety protocols are enabled.
Broken spine
Dirt Rally genuinely scares me with my d-box + VR, it's damn good fun.
😯 that would be wild 😁
Stephen J Bailey: *heavy breathing*
But it isn't the plastic fantastic!
What rig does he use?
Got my DOFReality P3 for a fraction of the price, love it cant go back without it + vr. Its the third degree rear slide that makes the differance!
Oh nice! Had the pleasure to meet Andre at sim expo. Top guy!
Great vid
So cool to see all the experiences your getting to try out. I know that life has not always been great for you, but seeing how things have changed over the last few year is cool to watch. You deserved every bit of the success you are living right now. Keeps it up. As one clever person said. Each day achieve one thing and do one thing that will mate tomorrow a bit better than today.
Awesome dude, just great videos as a fellow suffer who has climbed out of the dark paces and Inspiration!
I love the ‘subtlety’ of the movement effect, as you described it Jimmy. If I could afford this rig, I would be up for it.
this rig would turn into "Ejecto seato cuz!" if you played Dirt Rally, it would probably blow up
LMAOO
Motion is really fun on Rally and short course truck games.
Elykus i can feel my brain hitting the inside of my skull
I'd really like the controls to move in tandem, the only reason I wouldn't want that would be using a monitor setup instead of VR. To me there's little more annoying in a car than a wobbly seat. I really can't imagine the seat moving independently from everything else to feel comfortable to me.
Looks really fun though. Especially in combination with VR you can really see how much more of a feel you get for what's going on in the physics engine. I like that.
"You can feel it in your bum! It's definitely an addition." Jimmy Broadbent 2019
300 k subs Jimmer. I can remember subbing you at about 35 k. Fantastic to watch your channel grow. Bravo young man, Bravo
Jimmer, not only am I suuuuper happy for you doing casting for GT!! That's awesome. I'm newer to your channel but love that you are a big VR enthusiast as well! Keep up the great work!!
whew, a few minutes in, maybe not a First person POV when using a motion simulator. It's unfortunately quite jarring as the VR image capture really accentuates the *slightest* head movement. Still, thanks for the great content.
+1 with the motion. When I tried the red bull x2010 in VR, on a next level racing V3 motion rig, with a DD wheel it gave me an experience that I have never repeated tbh. It felt so fast, and took so much concentration to drive, it honestly really took my breath away.
If you have the money and the space, it more than pays for it self.
Nice video 👍I really love these motion seats
Greetings from Switzerland
Top job doing work stuff while you’re away playing Jimbo. We all appreciate the commitment 👍🏾
Great vid Jimmer, could heat the excitement (and fear) in your commentary. Thumbs up from me
This is a very immersive setup, even his mic sounds like hes in the cockpit on team radio!
Wow, that is some next-level shed.
Now play BeamNG, Wreckfest and Dirt Rally in this rig.
Hello chiropractor.
edulinares spintires lol
I actually had the chance to drive on a motion platform which held the entire rig. Compared to that one, the one used in the video only seems to transmit bumpy surface and some car roll. The one I tried didn't feel that shaky but simulated more g-forces and weight transfer on acceleration, braking and car roll. Of course the platform had somewhere between 30 and 45° of rotation on X, Y axes and a price of 25k € alone. Can't even describe how amazing Ascari chicane felt at 250 km/h.
looks like the studies paid off
When the tech becomes more accessible and usable. Get yourself a rig if you fancy.
The more immersive the experience adds to what we can get from you.
Also the audio quality on this game and rig is 👌.
I'd like to know what you feel is good and what's missing from motion rigs and what you'd like to see added in the future. What are your expectations interms of the quality of feedback motion rigs and VR can give.. 🤔
His shed wont be able to supply the power needed. Motion rigs need a lot of amps.
Mr Medium diesel generator mount
Mr Medium and diesel generator (gas might work too) and mount it near the ceiling on the wall or something
@@mrmedium7984 It's easy for an electrician to fix that. Although, aside from the cost of the heavier fuses etc., in my country you also have to pay more tax if you do that.
VR is at a point were you would have to be stupid to spend money on flat screens.
Do not worry about the driving jimmy this rigid amazing
Now that’s what I need in my life!
Fyi I believe there is a setting in cameras that fix that flashing that goes on with the lights (some countries use 50hz and some use 60hz, this has to do with how the electricity is delivered to houses)
300k jimmy. Awesome. Well done mate.
Top mad lads! Hello from Slovenia (south of Austria)!
Greetings from Salzburg as well! No Motion here, but the future will bring one as they get cheaper.
The karting place where i worked all summer had 2 of simtec simulators w/moving seats, favorite thing to do when ut was raining... good times
Driving the DBR9 on such a sound (!) system must be an experience in itself
Hell if i had the cash, I would buy this in a heart beat. I find as we are reaching the winter months that I really dont get to drive spirited at all (fancy cars go hibernate) so just playing sims until the spring is great for me, and this is probably the closest I could get. once again it is probably up to me to decide if I can better spend that 25-30k on traveling to warm tracks or rally schools in the winter, but this as a "finish my work and the kids are put to bed" kinda deal is much easier and cant really be beat
You actually only need 14k to buy one like this. The company that build this one is TrackTime. Just google them.
Good times seeing the Rickety Bridge at Sebring, now that it's been replaced.
The wheel should be connected to the motion rig too though.
Looks fun!
Nice. I see the goblin canopy over there. One of my other hobbies too
Being able to feel the sequential shifts would be so cool, specially in the VF commie
it be cool to see him own one of these an play f1 dirt rally and ect 💙 jimmer do it!
Did you go past Nicki's house? Did you ascertain some dominance? Like pee on his fence or something.
I was gonna ask the same, i know Nicki lives somewhere near Andre
@@KevinSlaton True!
T-Posing in front of his house is a good way to assert dominance
@@deadjuice3745 I wholeheartedly agree...
Who's Nicki?
I think the oval in monza is the bumpiest... 60's motion rig+oldschool monza you gotta try it
Yep. Good add on for sure, either build your own...or buy commercial.
I've been on motion diy for last 9 years
Great video. This is how sim racing should be
Great rig 👍
"I can feel it in my more than ample booty" ~ Jimmy Broadbent, 2019
Damn that Aston sounded good!!!
thank you very much for this video!
Congrats on 300k jummels!!
This motion simulator from Track Time 3Motion is awesome, at the Nürburgring you can test the new model
This looks wild
Those rigs look sick.
Always the best drinking game for any Jimmy video: down one everytime he says "easy". :)
Man, that Aston Martin sounds godly!
Imagine if he could do his Nordschleife hot lap series with that rig!
Jimmy, have you ever tried an SFX100? This is a full motion rig with actuators in each corner (3DOF). Its a DIY project that after you build it you fasten to your own alu profile rig and costs around £1500-1700 (the price of a seat mover, but FAR better).
Something like this commercially would cost around £5000.
You would probably fit one in your shed as the dimensions are not much more than a rig 30" x 60" (plus a little more to allow for motion).
I built one in May this year and if you ever find yourself in the NE of the UK (Middlesbrough) then you are welcome to come and try it out.
You need to have a go on the motum simulators if you ever come to Australia! They are amazing
Sorry I'm late Jimmer, Congratulations on 300k subscribers😎.
Only thing i would add is front traction loss. great rig .
I am seriously thinking of a set up of that nature.
Now this is getting closer to racing in real life. YOU'RE IN
Looks awesome. Gives even me as a viewer a more realistic feel as your head shakes "correctly" now in VR. It would be terrible for streaming though as its really hard to watch (normal VR streaming is a little calmer. So jealous. Time to crack open the piggy bank?
Congrats on 300K subs Jimmer! the real question is "Can you put a Wang on it?"
His Shed is pretty sweet!
Hope you enjoy your stay in my home country ☺️
one day soon it will all be yours Jimmer!
So you can feel the rear end in your bum. Not sure what to say to that... anyhow great video Jimmer! Been curious about those incredibly expensive rigs for quite some time, so I appreciate your perspective on it.
This was awesome stuff Jimmer!
Motion rig + VR might not give the best viewing experience tho. :P
Shakey shakey.
VR tracks in 6-axis, so no problems
Liked for that plane on the floor
Jimmy, did the steering wheel move with you? Also, how did you find the Index compared to rift of vive?
I got motion sickness watching this, it's awesome!
30fps recording like this will do that to you, lol. It's much different in the HMD.
those were some shocking recordings you showed us Jimmy ;)
very cool
holy shit I want to try this. looks amazingly fun.
You can try it at the Nürburgring or in the motorworld near Stuttgart!
Awesome
I'll never play that in my life :(
but that looks like so much fun !
Loe the videos btw
Just look for some sim events near your home, some time ago there was an event in a mall not far from my town and i got to try AC in VR + motion sim
@@chrissss696 wow really?! Cool
Christ chris that sort of thing does not exist where I live. No one here cares about racing. :(
Those intros keep killing me. ❤
secret is the boxing bag behind the rig. When u get punted go and punch the bag as much as u want haha
this made me feel a lil bit motion sick :')
Jimmy needs an addition added to the shed so he can fit one of these rigs in there!
How was the Grand Final of the Gt Sport Tournament? That race on Spa was really fun to watch
I can see how having a high refresh rate on your VR headset would be important when it's this bumpy!!!
Is it just the seat that moves? does the stationary wheel and pedals take away from the effects? Also using VR, does he have to turn off the head moving from the bumps within VR as the seat will move you up and down and so the view moving as well? if that makes sense?
damn. that does look fun though..
its good if you have a house for such a thing, or a summer house
How was the valve index compared to the vive pro?
other than 120hz and 144hz and about a 30* wider FOV it also has basically no screen-door effect.
but the blacks aren't as black so I guess it sucks lol
Vs Vive Pro:
Pros:
Far more comfortable, feels lighter even though it isn't really
Better audio
Better build quality
Better controllers
Reduced SDE
120Hz makes a huge difference (ranges from hard to very hard to run though depending on game)
Easier to get sweet spot - better adjustability for IPD and lens distance to eyes,
^ also makes maximizing the FOV easier (feels noticeably higher)
Reduced motion blur even at 90hz
More subpixels so even though the resolution is the same it feels a bit sharper
Cons:
No wireless support
Black levels noticeably reduced (though this is a personal preference, I'll still take the index due to the pros above)
Price
If you're on an original Vive I'd say go to the Index rather than the Vive Pro
I own a vive pro and an Index. Index absolutely blows the vive pro out of the water. There really is zero reason to even think about the Vive Pro when the Index exists, especially since the Index is cheaper than the Vive Pro. Also, if you don't know already, a recent update now allows you to change display brightness.
@@Lagahan There will be wireless support at some point, it was revealed at the Index launch party by Gaben himself that Valve is working on a 60ghz wireless solution for the Index.
@@evolicious awesome, there's no way I'd go back to the pro either, the index is so much nicer to use.
I'm hoping the view is much better from inside the headset, because from hear( from here (o)(o) ) it all look for longed, like looking down a tunnel.
The whole rig should move including the weals and pedals
I'll tell em to put another 5 grand into it !
Check out my rig. The whole thing moves
This. Pedals move in a car, with the car. Wouldn't that be a weird sensation with static pedals/moving chair?
Stefan I’m no expert on it but I believe the chair in most road/race cars has its own slight movement independent of the rest of the car so it’s not nearly as unnatural as it would seem to just move the chair.
@@stefan0ro I don't think so. When I take turns in my actual car, I feel my body shifting but the wheel isn't.
Do the belts tighten and loosen when you brake and accelerate?
Well.... I am still fucking exited about my clubsport v3 pedals that are in shipping right now :P
there should be some kind of ram on all sides so if you crash you get wolloped
Nice !!!!! What is this rig ? Special one or commercial ?
i need this in my life 😍
Thats one bumpy brit
How many more sheds will you have to build to fit one of these things in?
Look up the dof p3 it’s around £3k and £1.5k on import tax it’s a awesome bit of kit I’m saving to upgrade my ultimate v3 seat mover
