The reason why Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus work so well together is the fact that they have been together since wrestling school. Luchasaurus has a picture on his twitter of he and Jungle Boy one week into wrestling school. As for Marko Stunt, I actually kind of like him and he reminds me of Spike Dudley.
Absolutely; but they are so stuck up their own arses and wanting to play boss Cody; Omega and the young Fucks !! They have no idea really; and just interested in getting themselves over
Not really, they just have a specific idea of what they want to do and it's not what Cornette thinks they should do. I'm not sure either is "right" or "wrong" so much as it is a case of two entirely different concepts.
I dont understand why Brandi is in the ring. Shes absolute shit and shouldn't be on PPV when you have both Kongs, Baker, Nyla Rose, Allie, Leva Bates, (sans her dumbass gimmick) and the other Japanese chicks.
Khan, Cody, and the Bucks are confirmed as the main bookers. Omega is working as an agent and works mostly with the females/scouting for joshi wrestlers.
Cactus Jack given his combination of inferiority complex and some of the oddball stuff he has done in the past in terms of “matches” I’m Leary of the guy.
We never had to read a magazine to understand Who hated who and who was who in the golden days of Wrestling. The wrestlers told the story with promos or inside the ring
Coming back in time to get the AEW coverage from where it began, now a few EPs in. Criticisms aside, there was so much hope in these early EPs about AEW. It's kind of sad to hear knowing how things eventually end up. I look forward to hearing how things sour on a few of the wrestlers that are praised here.
Fight for the fallen wasn't bad but overall the show didn't have nothing that pop out but the lucha brothers and cody, dustin and the bucks that stood out a little. 7/10
The reason, why Dark Order went over, is because of the storyline they were trying to build with Best Friends. AEW knows what they have in Two Boys and their Dino, hence why they were out in the ring at the end of the show.

Nick Nil I agree! I do want to say it’s a little better than it seems, a lot of what wrestling WAS is an idea in our head. Re watching the majority of old matches it’s just as botched and gimmicky as the new shit. BUUUUT there are those matches that sold us on what that idea of great wrestling is undeniably better! Here’s a cheers to hoping shit gets better my friend!!
Wow Jim Cornette directly spoke to someone like me I wanna give Wrestling again but yeah MJF I wanted more top of the card. Page match was too long I kinda dozed off and the Rhodes match was long and a bit confusing great matches both Luchasaraus I like allot but damn I just wanna watch highlights bc the matches too long
Hibbington he must not watch NJPW matches, because they don’t have faces and heels (aside from Suzuki Gun). Best matches ever were between Tanahashi and Okada, and neither were heel.
Honestly, Corny wants to watch the same 10 minute match over and over and over again because "thats wrestling" to him. If you stray from the script and do something that has never been done before, you are shitting on the traditions of pro wrestling.
I enjoyed it, but I did think it was AEW's worst show yet. Have some balls to tell your people "you're going to lose in 8 minutes instead of 22, deal with it" and you get a lot better show out of it. Their production is getting better and better though, it's going to look really good by the time TV rolls along.
@The Cortege I think I'd have him do the Rear View or that hip move thing Asuka does rather than a risky leg drop that can either look stupid or injure him.
the chop/ forearm trading sequence is a call to Japanese matches. their matches build from the wrestlers fighting spirit. to take an opponents chops or forearms is to show that they are strong and their opponents attacks can't or aren't affecting them. seeings how most of these guys work in Japan, its obvious why they build their matches in a similar way as they build them in Japan.
Right but they missed the point of this spot. A certain type of wrestler should be doing these spots. Tough son of a bitch trades with a guy trying to prove himself, tough son of a bitch normally wins. A striking exchange in NJPW happens every match, but Shibata or Ishii or Suzuki are the only ones really telling people to hit them, because they normally want to draw the guys like Okada or Naito into a brawl by insulting their pride as NJPW wrestlers because they know they can tank hits. A brawl they know they'll probably win or at least use to break them down and hit big moves. Okada wont ever point to his chin, occasionally Naito does but normally follows it up by killing the heat with limb work to get a reaction, always with the low dropkick. My point is Page doing it in a throw away match means nothing, it's just something the crowd reacts to. It makes no sense for their characters.
@@UnexpectedDanger your a moron. Jim Cornette is familiar with American Wrestling. He is not a historian of Puro wrestle or Lucha Libre. He only knows American pro wrestling.

Agree but the show didn't pop out as much but it didn't have a bad pre show matches like fyter fest and show that made the show better overall, but the pre show was basic with sunny kiss doing all the work and no one remembers the 6 woman's tag team match more than likely that was pretty good almost.
During the six man tag all I could think was "here's five wrestlers and a Marilyn Manson fan named Jimmy". Can't take havoc seriously at all and I'm not really impresed even if some people in the UK love him.
To be fair to him he hasn’t been used in his element yet in AEW. He’s known for psycho death matches, which is scarily kind of fitting for that brooding emo “I don’t care if I hurt myself, I like cutting myself to see the blood and feel something” type. In a regular wrestling match under the bright lights, and no light tubes or other crazy weapons though, he just seems lame as fuck. Him & Janella, their gimmick in a regular match needs to be that they’re willing to do shit that the other guy won’t do / experience more pain than their opponent; otherwise they’re just not believable.

Well, Angelico is South African, not American, but I digress. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus are going to be huge. Absolutely huge. Funny you mentioned Sabian's hair. In his Chris Van Vleet interview the day of the show, he actually said his haircut was done wrong. Love it when you point out the basic stuff, even if it mars things for me moving forward, like the turning your back with theatrics after a failed tackle.
Ok, if and when AEW trim the low card mudshow dreck, they will inevitably improve considerably, they do have the tools to go places. Does anyone think that in retrospect, Kenny Omega winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship was the worst thing that happened to him? His reign was..... underwhelming and it feels like he lost the Aura he had during his feuds with Jericho and Okada.
Anyone that wins it at Dominion has it tough because they don't have a title defence for over 2 months due to the G1 Climax. So that gave him a poor start, then his decision to leave New Japan and go to AEW meant that his reign was cut short and the plans were changed for Tanahashi to win. I don't think it was entirely his fault, but it was definitely a lackluster reign.
@@Time2LevelUp not helped by the choice of opponents for his defences either - Cody? Twice? The irony about him winning it at Dominion is that Okada's 720 day reign began at...Dominion. But point taken about the Dominion thing when you think that Okada had 12 defences during that 720 day reign and yet Tanahashi managed 11 during his 404 day reign way back when.
@@jpmagnus6909 Oh yeah, Cody being involved in two of Kenny's defences was ridiculous. I enjoyed his series with Ishii though. You won't find me arguing that it wasn't a bad title reign, I just don't think it was entirely Kenny's fault. :)

The reason the crowd and announcers were losing steam was because of the HEAT. This event was outdoors on a Very Hot and Humid Florida day. Not making excuses, but I was there and it was tough just sitting there as a spectator, due to the heat.

The reason why Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus work so well together is the fact that they have been together since wrestling school. Sammy` Folden They’ve not proven that sentiment wrong as of yet

Coming back in time to get the AEW coverage from where it began, now a few EPs in. Criticisms aside, there was so much hope in these early EPs about AEW. Eh if you've seen one young bucks match you've seen them all
A Boy and his Dinosaur were the highlight of the show
The reason, why Dark Order went over, is because of the storyline they were trying to build with Best Friends. AEW knows what they have in Two Boys and their Dino, hence why they were out in the ring at the end of the show.
I like the Dark Order. The gimmick is awesome

Page match was too long I kinda dozed off and the Rhodes match was long and a bit confusing great matches both Luchasaraus I like allot but damn I just wanna watch highlights bc the matches too long
Jim Cornette is a treasure to professional wrestling. Enough said. 🤣
1 year later and the fan boy travel story in the beginning is still one of the funniest stories told. Terribly cruel, but funny when Corny tells it.
-Doesn't like standing exchanges
-Doesn't like 30 minute matches
Cornette definitely would not be a fan of New Japan then.
Don't compare this to NJPW. Blasphemy.

the chop/ forearm trading sequence is a call to Japanese matches. their matches build from the wrestlers fighting spirit. to take an opponents chops or forearms is to show that they are strong and their opponents attacks can't or aren't affecting them. seeings how most of these guys work in Japan, its obvious why they build their matches in a similar way as they build them in Japan.
But they do that in WWE as well. Hell almost all promotions do that.
It's amazing how little jim cornette knows about wrestling and the history of it
@@UnexpectedDanger your a moron. Jim Cornette is familiar with American Wrestling. He is not a historian of Puro wrestle or Lucha Libre. He only knows American pro wrestling.

Pentagon does that glove shit in every match, It's getting old now
Pentagon's entire shtick is old. Today's indie promotions are booking him like WWE booked Hunter in the early 2000's.
Revisit his days in Lucha Underground. He was incredible. Totally scary. No little kids cheering him, just announcers, audience and wrestlers wetting themselves.

I was tired of it since i saw his All In match, plus he doesn't even do much, his Double Or Nothing tag team match he did like 2 moves on the whole match
In my opinion was better than Fyter fest
Agree but the show didn't pop out as much but it didn't have a bad pre show matches like fyter fest and show that made the show better overall, but the pre show was basic with sunny kiss doing all the work and no one remembers the 6 woman's tag team match more than likely that was pretty good almost.
I agree, give 6 out of 10 for Fyer and I solid 8 for FFTF
I haven't wrote this yet but R.I.P. to Mrs. Cornette losing her father. Losing a parent is tough.
"He's one of these stupid skateboard f*cks" 😂😂😂
@@lamelama22 when you're only really believable when you're doing garbage wrestling that's not too believable to me. Sorry Jinmy I'm just not a fan. And I hope AEW doesn't stoop too low into deathmatch territory either.

I think Kenny omega being born was the worst thing to happen to him I know it was the worst thing to happen in the wrestling buissnes
@@Time2LevelUp not helped by the choice of opponents for his defences either - Cody? Twice? The irony about him winning it at Dominion is that Okada's 720 day reign began at...Dominion. @@jpmagnus6909 Oh yeah, Cody being involved in two of Kenny's defences was ridiculous. I enjoyed his series with Ishii though. You won't find me arguing that it wasn't a bad title reign, I just don't think it was entirely Kenny's fault. :)
