Go Zimbabwe 🔥🔥🔥
I love my country
I agree with Brian I just hope this idea is the game changer we need to restore the dignity of the 🇿🇼
We are not asking for much nor are we asking anything little. If the gold standard is the way may the principles be adhered so that people can live
Zimbabwe Is Rising Again 🇿🇼
Congratulations Zimbabwe. Love from Algeria 🇩🇿

They'll need some democracy with that.
Democracy isn't needed in Africa.
Most Zim guys need to realize that even US dollar is a printed paper just like a ZiG, it's the trust people put into that paper that matters
Not Ziggy zaggy, please!
Freedom & Democracy Incoming 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
More like IMF incoming to tell them how to run their country
the government have already plundered the country into ruin. there's nothing left to destroy
@@Caiyrog the government doesn't even know how to run a country
That's an old cliché. Move on
I hope other countries with hyper inflation will also back it up with gold reserves which USA used to do
Under Trump, expect the US to return to the gold standard
@@not.likelylmao no chance
there isn’t enough gold in the world to do that, dummy
But IT ISN'T gold backed. The zig can't be redeemed for gold! Period! Same old problem. Zim needs serious policies that actually attract investment and a justice system that doesn't take five years or more for the simplest matters to be resolved. Justice, property rights and Ease of business are three main pillars of investment. It's not difficult if you are being honest. Basic.
Viva Zimbabwe!
Makes no sense you still need to change it to USD to trade 😢
Hope this will spark a trend, remember the gold is the audit, as long as you hold it. Any country that teaches to inavate, invest, and trade, without destroying its currancy or getting into dumb wars will become rich.
They promise not to over print the new currency. Where have we heard that before? 😔
Africa is watching.
Let us all embrace the new currency. We the citizens of Zimbabwe are the ones who can make it work..Let us all hope that we have a currency this time around. We have been a laughing stock that we are a country without a currency.Thank you Minister for taking such a bold step
BOYCOTT Dollar
Transparency and audit is hard to find in third worlds economy!
Have you ever seen real transparency and proper audit in the so called 1 world economy??
@@prosl11Well people do trust it. Ask any Zimbabwean worker if they want to be paid in zig zag or USD😂
Yeah. Not too happy with the lack of transparency and audit in the so called 1st world Country I live in. But people are starting to wake up. Election year. It's gonna be a wild year.
Western sanctions hurt these simple poor people who just want to live their lives
The west is very dark & evil
Absolute Nonsense! Diaspora remittances and trade with Western nations has kept Zimbabwe afloat. Also whatever restrictions were there were removed already. What excuse for incompetence now?
@@jimmycricket5366nonsense ,
The problem is Zib gold benefits individuals instead of the country
Individuals are the country
@@danielo9902maybe not so much according to the powers that be.
6th time is a charm ... NOT!
Right. It's totally going to work this time... they definitely aren't going to start the money printer with this "gold backed" currency /s
@@brent4073😂😂😂🤣
Mohammad Ghadafi will be happy to hear this
Bles
Good work Zimbabwe
If there was a functional democracy in Zimbabwe they wouldn't have to experiment with these ridiculous de-linking alternative currencies. How many years is it going to take for the government to realize this. The entire economy collapses due to rampant inflation each time they do this. Gold is not the answer - it can be relocated and stockpiled - this process creates volatility - unreliability and accumulation in the hands of a few - these are not core criteria for a base currency.
look😀 who's talking
We have not receive it or get it from the banks
Allah bless Zimbabwe
All the best! Hope it goes well with no corruption, and things get better. I want this country to thrive, pray everything goes well. I am skeptical, but hopefully they can do it.
*Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Argentina, Palestine. Countries hyperinflation.*
Israel and US to blame..
Hated by the west for standing up
@@fidelcatsro6948commies always blaming others 😂
@@WovenToe look up the history, US have invaded, occupied or interfered with hundreds other countries in the last 100yrs...even Israel Palestine problem persists today because of its influence..not the american people, mostly its the US political leadership to blame.
@@WovenToeBlame game like a stuck record player.

So has the famous "gold mafia" issue has been resolved? Let's hope so. Let's also hope that a massive dose of integrity, honesty, restraint and good/easy-business policy has been injected into government. Let's also hope that an enormous amount of genuine trust has been infused into Zimbabweans to adopt this zig. But trust is -usually- always earned.... Usually there are no shortcuts.
Im happy for them. But I'd imagine a gold backed currency will encourage an influx of sophisticated counterfeiters from all over the world.
It's a very good move for our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe, love and best wishes from India 🇮🇳
Why do you never show the cbd or the low density areas of African countries. Its always those those most embarassing places but when it comes to the western countries its the opposite.
Right!
She did it again 😂😂😂
They need to be improved those places
Seeing the corrupted "leadership" that Zimbabwe has to offer it's unlikely that any new currency in Zimbabwe will ever be trusted by its citizens. Anyway, I hope them the best though.
yay!!! woo-hoo! go zimbabwe! this country now has some great potential! now is the time to invest in this country if the central banks stay true.
Will foreign countries recognize the ZiG!? Those that need foreign currency for travels will the banks in Zimbabwe give out forex in exchange for ZiG
Zimbabwe about to get some 'democracy'
History is about to repeat itself
it's already lost 100% of its value lol. and it doesn't but fuel, pay passport fee or customs duty. Not giving up my usd for this rubbish unless i need groceries

A good economy makes the currency good and NEVER VICE VERSA!!!

Bring Rodesia back. Clearly some people are unable to govern rhemselves. There, in Middle East 🙂
