Have you tried telling the otter that he's an otter?
LoL
Lol
I think he/she better be free. But i understand the love to him/her

If it can't Swim, it Won't Survive.
@Sasser2015...
That's what I was thinking!
The Otter who thinks it's a CAT..LOL
Try to uninstall cat.exe, then update to latest patch of otter.exe, hope it works
Where do I put your Nobel ?
😂
Error pak
😂😂😂😂😂👍
Hahaha, thanks for the lolz
Here’s my suggestion. Just put a little water in the tub. Let him get used to that and gradually add water letting him get used to each new level.
He clearly doesn’t understand he can float. So when he sees deep water he panics.
Crypto Jihadi already done he panicked
That's what I was thinking, he can get in the little plastic dish pan well enough. Yeah, it takes a world to raise an otter. It's funny, I've never seen one of these in life, but I'm watching all these updates. The otter really seems like a hunter, stalking and biting everything. HM, maybe if one sat in the tub, he could get in the water a little, then climb up on you if he doesn't like it. Something like a bathtub toy!!!!
They already did that like 5 times....have u not seen their other videos
I dont think that'll work. He seems to have created a negative association with the tub.
Crypto Jihadi I would say that. He wants to feel his feet touching the ground for a while
Next video, teaching my fish how to swim!
There's a YT vid titled "Animals Being Jerks". It includes a scene involving a reluctant otter pup being forced into the water by its mother. Once in, though, the pup goes to town. Perhaps, in general, otter pups are initially fearful and must be dumped in?
He's scared that he can't get out. Try making a plastic ramp with a rubber mat inside the tub so he can get up and out of the water. Once it gets too deep, he has a really hard time getting up and over the edge and he only feels comfortable with somewhere to jump over the edge from. I think maybe this fear stems from when he was put in there in shallow water alone before (I know you were next to the tub but he started to panic a bit before you took him out). He'll likely need extra assurance in that area before he starts to feel comfortable and safe again.
We will try to get a wider pool but not that deep so that he cat get in and out by himself.
I think he'd be more than happy in the tub if he had some sort of ramp to get himself out. I was thinking if you just have a long piece of plastic and rubber cement a layer of rubber onto it and put it in the tub at an angle, I bet he'd love that. That way, he can ease himself into the deep water without the fear of getting stuck in there. It would definitely be cheaper too. = ) Really love watching your videos by the way. He's such a playful, happy, cutie.
BlueEternities exactly👍
Maybe try putting a towel on the edge of the tub and drape it over both sides so hes not slipping when he tries to climb out. That may be part of his panic that he thinks he cant escape when he wants. Also you might try sitting down in there with him. Bu
It can be deep but has to have easy way in and out.
Your patience with that adorable fellow is inspiring 💛 Don’t give up!
I must say Bingo has become quite a star here, so many kind suggestions to want to ensure he can swim at ease, obviously, he has warmed so many hearts. Little guy, don’t give up, we are cheering you on.........
I think he needs a bath mat to see there is an end under the water.
a thing you also can try is having a bathtub mat in a same blue color, it could give some reassurance seeing something familiar.
Can otters see colour
*Lowers blue tub slowly into the bigger tub*
Bingo: "Heeyyy you can't trick me!"
All these people speculating....watch how otter parents do it in the wild. They don’t baby them. They hold them with their mouths and the babies have no choice. Yes the babies protest but the parents don’t let them away with anything. It’s essential for their survival they learn to swim. Although it’s not essential for Bingos survival it’s good for his physical and mental well-being to be in the water.
Kerry Mulholland my thoughts exactly. Well said
Maybe we should be more strict on him on this🤔
Kerry Mulholland wild otters hug their babies in the water and serve as an example of that there is nothing to fear if they do like the parent. They are taught to float with their parent right next to them, not outside of the body of water.
Yup, but they are firmly grabbed by their necks and close to the mother's body. Humans are not fit to teach them how. In conservationist parks biologist use a subtitute mother... and even this is not easy to do. Not all otters accept pups that aren't their own and they need many tries. I'm sorry, but I don't think forcing him would do any good to your relationship with your pet.
Why would you want to scare him??? Once an animal has a negative experience it will be even harder to undo and get him swimming
"I can't swim! It's too deep!"
"Sounds like ferret talk boy."
Those little sea squeakers are so intelligent
It really seemed like he was making progress this time compared to some of the other tub-training attempts. I think you guys are on the right track!
Bingo " Wunna can't fool me. I know the difference between blue basin and bath tub!" 😂😂😂
Yup, he is smart😂
You show him so much love and attention. It’s amazing.
KILO HOTEL yes! And I totally love that💕 such caring owners💕
Bingo: "I love my little round pool. Whee!"
And his little bottle cap thing.. sorry idk the word in English 🤷♀️

Kymberlyn Reed isn’t that sweet? Love love love bingo!
Bingo, the otter that don't like water if it's more than 15 cm deep :)
Lol😂
Go Bingo! It's very nice all of the kind suggestions. Bingo seems to be getting better with each video. Thanks for sharing Bingo's life with the world to see! Bingo you have a Mom and Dad that are patient with you, so dear you are!! 😍🤗❤💜💚
Poor thing, he was so afraid of water at the beginning. He's so cute when he's swimming.
Thank you 😊
Poor Cutie pie, Baby 🐾Bingo was traumatized in the bathtub. Don't worry Bingo, 💖mama will always have your back💖🐾 😎NORTH 💘AMERICA ✌
Great job with getting him slowly used to the tub. Fabulous patience!!!
I think the way you did this with the tub was great. It’s obvious he became more confident. I agree with another comment that he likes being able to see over the sides, but with play sessions like this over time he will be confident. A rubber ramp placed in the tub where he can quickly exit would be great as well. Thank you for sharing! ♥️
In the little tub, He can touch the bottom and get out. In the big tub if its not full he can't get out. If its full he can't touch the bottom.
If you watch river otters in the wild unless they are hunting fish they are playing in and out of the water in the shallows.
I see, thank for the comment!
Charyl Liss do you think maybe some food would be an encouragement maybe?
MarcoM512 he is afraid for some reason. You can see by the way he plays in the little blue tub he has the otter instinct for water play. He shows many of the otter behaviors in water and is fine when the blue pan is being held for him in the tub. Maybe a type of ramp for him to be able to get out of the tub with that and patience introducing him into the big tub with the little blue one, I think he will eventually come to love being in the tub.
It's amazing that how much love and patience you put on training little Bingo there😆💓. Bingo did change a lot since the first water challenge, I can see her swimming like a mermaid in the near future🏊
Thanks for the support! We hope that he can swim really soon.
His squeaking is cute af
Bingo's mummy and daddy are so patient!! 👏👏👏
We have to, as we are now responsible for Bingo’s life😊
Bingo-the-otter
So sweet 😍
Bingo's mummy and daddy are assholes for keeping a wild animal as a pet. Dogs and cats have been bred over many thousands of years to be
domesticated animals. Otters have not. If he became an orphan, he should have been taken to a sanctuary/refuge and then released back into the wild. Not taken to some damn apartment in downtown Tokyo. Or wherever they live.
@@helenwa1651 they are do a very good job raising him with love and patient..
Hi from the UK . I know I'm 4 years late, 😂, but I literally just stumbled upon your channel as I was looking for more otters to watch. Otters are beautiful and I'm a little obsessed with them lol. It was truly wonderful watching you slowly and carefully letting your baby get used to a larger area of water, it made my heart fill with happiness 🥰. Definitely a new sub from me 🦦❤️
To everyone saying the water is too deep, STOP. if you'd bothered to watch their other videos you'd know that Bingo is just as afraid when there was very little water in the bathtub.
Thank you for following Bingo’s video. We hope that he can overcome his fear some days.
Bingo afraid when he can't see outside. The water level is way under the bathtub, so he fells like in the narrow room. Tight room. Prison
you could try and put a platform in the middle of the tub that he can get on
"you could try and put a platform in the middle of the tub that he can get on"... that is actually a great idea... it'll need to be steady and allow him to get out of the bath altogether as Bingo always makes sure he has an exit and will use it regularly to make sure he is safe. I believe it's the absence of an exit on the first try inside the bath that "traumatized" him.
This being said, Bingo is a ton more adorable than he is courageous :D.
River otters spend their early life on land. They have to build confidence, and learn how to swim, and build up their lung capacity. They don't start out swimming in the deep parts of the river. They play on the edges and gradually go deeper with age. Dunking him in a full bathtub like the beginning without an exit he can use so he can leave when he feels he needs to was scary for him. The second half of the video was done much better. It wasn't too deep, and he had an exit which made for a more positive learning experience.
He seems pretty adapt in the water to me. Maybe he just likes playing, coming in and out of the water like a human child would get out of the pool to jump back in. The repetition is fun, like a toddler that keeps dropping their toy, just to see you pick it up again and again. I know watching Bingo over and over if fun for me. 🤗
0:41 I never realized this but I find it absolutely heartwarming and adorable how Bingo was holding on to Daddy's hand.
I love the way Bingo squeaks!! So cute!!
Thank you for always comment on our info’s video😊❤️
Aww and thank you for sharing this cuteness!!!!
I watched this thinking I was going to see an otter playing bingo🤦♀️
LochBess Monsta omg 😂
Woooooow lol
From now on, make sure that his little blue swimming area is _always_ in the tub. Don't push his challenge line, just allow him to start associating the tub with fun time instead of with fear. The problem is that he's now conditioned to feel fear of the tub. Over the next few weeks, slowly break that conditioning.
Thank you find the kind advice, we will try.
NoJusticeNoPeace ...he feared the blue tub at first. They are doing just fine.
Okay I’m laughing my ass off at the fact he was in PANIC MODE in the bathtub.
When he got in the little blue bowl he was doing circles so cute 😂😭
Bingo doesn't like not being able to see over the sides of the tub. He feels like he is in a hole. In nature, he could surface and look around to see if he is safe. If he surfaces and all he sees are the walls of the tub, he feels trapped. That's why when you hold him in the blue tub near the top of the water, he can see out of the big tub and, therefore, he feels safer.
Fax
Mycroftsbrother I totally agree.
Otter whisperer
Awwwww Bingo! Good job! 💖💖 it’s so cute he likes the bottle caps. You guys are great otter parents! 💖💖💖
Maybe put a step stool in the tub? Looks like he's afraid of getting stuck in the tube and not being able to get out
We will try to put something in. The tub for him to stand on next time.
Bingo-the-otter ...besides his human that was in the tub with him? It will take time and his parents are doing awesome.
He likes to feel the bottom, drain the tub and fill it the same depth as the blue tub, gradually make the tub deeper each time but do it slowly.
Cutie Bingo is getting in and out of the tub willingly and is now comfortable enough to play! That's terrific progress!
I just subscribed to your channel and I already love your family and your videos so much!!!😙😋
*DONT WANT*
I agree with increasing the water a little by little so he can adjust :3
already done in video before
Sorryyyy to ask but what the name of the show u got on profile picture?????
@XXEcstacy Thanks!!
The water isn’t too cold for Bingo is it? He’s way too cute! Bingo smart, he jumped out real fast. Lol
too cold ? in the wild otter swim in near freezing temperature. They have to catch fish for calorific intake.
I think he's afraid to drown
Hmmm maybe he needs a little step in the tub, so he doesn't feel trapped once he's in there? Good job you guys bingo is getting there! Thanks for sharing!
“No! Im not ready to otter yet!”
I think he's not sure to be able to get out by himself. However, he's doing a lot of progress. Great little Bingo! I love him
Give up, you're just going to have to make him an indoor koi pond. 😂
Bingo: "Help!! I'm drowning! I'm drowning! 😱"
Mama: "But you're an otter -- one of the fastest and most agile swimmers in the ocean and on rivers! 🤨"
Bingo: "Really? 🤔"
Bingo: "Heh-heh. Uhhhh, never mind Mama. 😅"
What an absolute pure soul :,) I have been blessed this day.
Maybe can try to put some floating toys like the yellow duckling so Bingo can relax more with playfulness.
Bingo is adorable. Thank you for documenting and sharing his development. It's very healing to watch.
I’m surprised. I thought otters would take to water naturally. Is it normal for them to start young or wait? I know it’s probably different if he had him mom teaching him instead of humans. He just looks so unsure of himself. Good to see him slowly learning to trust and be comfortable.
You may put blue elastic map in the tub.He may feel more confident with the thing that he used to.
We should try it maybe.
To adorable...when I'm having a bad day Bingo always bring me back to smiling again. He is so cute 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍
Sneaky hooman tried to trick me
so kawaii, an otter scared of deep water.. please be kind to him
He is darling and obviously loved & cared for so much! Thank you for sharing him with us!
I just watch one of these videos whenever I am feeling down.
He is so cute! But watching these little guys on RUclips has made me 100% certain that even though I would love to play with and cuddle a little otter for a couple of hours I would never want one full time! They seem like a real handful! Non stop energy and mischief! It would be way too much for me on a daily basis!!!
You are both the best parents this little guy could ever have, you have so much patience and give him so much love. Well done to you:-)
そちらのコメント欄でいろいろアドバイスをいただいたので今回この水量にしてみた感じです^^;

You are so gentle and patient!

4:14 that was so satisfyingly smooth
So cute. This is what mother otters in the wild do.
I want to kiss him so much, he's too cute 😭😭😭
Good job Otter Bingo !!!! . 😻You are not used to jump and afraid of not getting out of the water. Everything is sliding all Around you, poor Dear one . But your human teachers will find a good idea next time. It was already a pleasure to see you swimming into this beautiful blue water. 😘😘😘👌🏻
That's okay! Bingo's mummy and daddy are so patient (2) 😘
Thank you, we have to be patient for him.
He is just so cute!!! I love to watch them! THANK YOU!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
His squeaks break my heart in a good way.❤👍
It is adorable video and I love the otter.... but it saddens me that people can be so understanding, sensitive and empathetic to an otter but not to a human being who is traumatized by something and upset or confused.
Breaks my heart.
He is probably not sure how deep the bath tub is, bc there is no contrast for him. Just put a colored rubber mat (anti-slip-mat) on the ground of your tub, so he'll probably be able to see how deep the water is and feel much saver. I mean for human eyes its obvious the check the water deeth or check the dimensions of your tub.
Try it out, maybe its the key for tiny Bingo.
I see! That might be a great solution. We will try it!
Bingo-the-otter
Or maybe you can put something in your tub he can stand on.

My friend suggested this channel to me tonight. OMG, this is absolutely delightful!
I'll be up all night watching Bingo!
Thank you so much for sharing, you've made my day :)

The little tub is much better! Looks much happier!
It's good that you're being very patient with him because he doesn't need to associate "fear" with water 👍 Love you for loving him 💖😘
"Fear of the Unknown". The water in the pan is shallow enough that Bingo can feel the bottom with his feet and belly, the water in the bathtub seems too deep to him. Bingo has no other otter to set an example and hasn't learned yet that he can swim like a fish, and float on his back. He is insecure that he can't feel the bottom of the tub. The white enclosure of the tub may be a bit unnerving as well. Make the water in the tub the same depth as the pan or even a little less deep, place him in the tub, in the pan, (as you did) and put several bottle caps floating in the tub, even maybe his orange towel. Make him retrieve the caps, don't give them to him. Bingo just needs a bit of coaxing so he can discover his natural ability. Once he is comfortable with the tub, you can gradually make it deeper. You have far more patience with teaching Bingo to swim than his natural mother would. The mother otter often grabs the pup by the scruff of the neck and swims down to the bottom of the pond - they learn very quickly this way, but I don't recommend any other method over what you are already doing. You have to maintain Bingo's trust that you are not trying to put him in danger.
Maybe next time we will try with a wider water tub that is not so deep so he can get in and out by himself.
He's like me in a pool, I only stay in the area where I know my feet can touch the ground lol.
It is adorable how curious and playful they are
How adorable is he... love him❤❤❤
The light blue color of the lil tubby did the trick!
Otters are taught by their mothers to not fear the water. This is done by grabbing them by the scruff and dragging them around through the water. Check out some zoo videos on it.
Thank you for the comment, we will😊
What a smart, and cute otter. I love his squeaks.
Bingo you are so cute and beautiful. I think bingo just like the blue color instead of white tub.
Maybe try sitting in the bathtub with him with no water at all for awhile until he settles down and realizes the bathtub isn't dangerous.
That might be a solution 💡
The mother starts out by her swimming on her back or just floating along and letting the baby float on top of her...when he gets used to the water...she then rolls over and swims underneath him, letting him get used to being in the water without as much support from her. Then each time he (and she always does it near the bank of the river and showing him that he can get out. ) and each swimming class she takes him farther away from the bank. But each time he gets out of the water...she always would grab him by the tail or neck and put him back in the water. I saw this on youtube...mom is alway patient. Then once he learns that...she teaches him how to swim on his back, eat on his chest. very interesting youtubes to watch.
I will have a celebration when Bingo finally swims in the bathtub 🎉 But even if he doesn't, I will still celebrate because he's cute 😍
I like your Bingo, it's already an internet sensation, a big hit. Just remember Ice Age 4 , the seal : "omg we'll gonna drown" "you're a sea creature" :))) . I am so glad that he conquered his fears , also glad that you didn't give up on him , tried different methods . His achievement is yours too :)
